House vacation rentals in Surry County

We LOVED staying in Eli's home. Our son got married this weekend, and we chose his home due to the location and the amenities if offered. It was more beautiful than we imagined! Big wrap around porch, beautiful yard, hot tub, screened in porch, a big screen TV in the living room, and comfortable beds. We felt very much at home and would recommend it to anyone looking for a home to rent in this area.

The home was much more than I expected. My host was super.

This is a great space. We stayed here due to having a surgery early the next morning and wanted to stay close by. It was very relaxing and we felt right at home. The backyard space was AMAZING.

If you're looking for views from heaven this is the place! Its breathtaking. Spacious, quiet, and picturesque. House is nestled between neighbors and you'd never know. Wildlife and wilderness meets quaint neighborhood... but at a golf resort. Only downfall is if you dont get groceries prior to arrival,you're out of luck during winter since your on the top of the mountain. Its about 20 to 30min down either direction for them (I shopped on the way in). Things to do are also sparse at this time of year. But, that wasn't the point for our trip, it was to "disappear" for a few days. Bryan was an awesome host. He kept intouch throughout the entire process. I had to make adjustments to my initial occupancy number and cut our trip short a day due to weather related precautions. He was accommodating for each request. Couldn't have had a better host. He invited us back and also made us aware he had other properties on the same resort. All around pleasant and helpful. We will definitely be back!

The apartment was immaculate. Everything was organized perfectly. The apartment was as advertised. I guess the biggest thing that impressed me the most was how Kay takes care of the little details. There is a washer and dryer in the unit, but she also took the time to make sure there were fabric softener sheets, and wash pods. In the kitchen, it was the same attention to detail. I was shocked to notice that there was a miniature selection of spices to cook with. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were nice, towels, soap and shampoo - everything you need in that respect. The place was wonderfully furnished. It suited our needs perfectly. and to top it off, I appreciated the fact that there was very little in the way of a to-do list upon checkout. just three simple things, take the trash out. start the dishwasher and turn The thermostat down to 68. it's a good value, + no stupid chores, I would highly recommend any location Kay offers.

Ashley was a phenomenal host, and went above and beyond helping us with resources for finding homes (as we are relocating to the area) and recommendations for areas she thought we'd enjoy. she was very quick to respond and truly made us feel like family in her beautiful haven of peace and tranquility. everything was awesome and so was she. thank you for a truly memorable experience 💖

Joanne’s place was great. We decided on a 2 night getaway…the kids had a blast at the indoor pool and hiking trail with the waterfall (Stone Mountain). The house was perfect for our needs and the view is amazing! Def recommend!

This couldn't be more private or peaceful...the grounds are beautiful with trees, flowers, two fountains, so many places to sit and relax and then you have a pool and hot tub. A beautiful area to dine outside with a grill. Our dogs loved exploring the yard. Stefi offers many ideas on places to visit and to eat, which was so helpful. We will definitely book with Stefi again.

Our stay at Granny’s House was wonderful! The house was warm and cozy, and in a great location convenient to nearby restaurants. Only a short drive to the restaurants/stores/brewery downtown…. We loved The Angry Troll. The kitchen was well stocked with coffee, snacks, drinks, etc which was so convenient for our weekend stay. The king bed was super comfy and although the home is on the main road, the provided sound machine drowned out the street noise. It rained the entire weekend, so we didn’t get to use the outdoor fire pit, but it was a very neat space with wood provided (we plan to return during warmer weather to enjoy the beautiful outdoor space:-) Dana was a pleasure to communicate with and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay!

Everything went wonderful!! Carlene and her husband were very kind!! Will definitely stay here again!!

The Bear Den is a wonderful place to stay in Mount Airy. It is close to Main Street and restaurants. The home is impeccably clean and comfortable. We have stayed here many times and it is always a pleasure!

Had the best time ! Mother / daughter getaway. The cottage was adorable. Very comfortable. Nice area to visit. The cottage was convenient to Mt Airy and MT Pilot. Phil and Suzanne built a fire one night in the pavillion. The farm setting was very relaxing and peaceful. And Abby the dog was precious ! Will definitely be back.

This was our first time in Mt. Airy so we had no idea where to stay. Thank goodness we came across Dennis and Ben's place. We absolutely loved our stay! It looked exactly as it did in the pictures. My wife loved the character of this warming, and comfortable home. We also loved the fireplace in the dining area, and the big dining room table. The bedrooms were very spacious, and the temperature in the home was perfect! The only thing my wife complained about was leaving to go home! We had breakfast every morning, and enjoyed the kitchen. We sent a text about a few things, and the host responded promptly and dropped off what was needed! So we will be back, and if you need a place that's nice, clean, convenient, this is your place! Thank you both for a great stay!

Carina's place was a great place to relax. We were in town for a wedding and family gathering. It is very easy to get to and close to restaurants and stores. I grew up in the area so I was familiar with getting around. Carina is very responsive and easy to get in touch with. The place was clean and well kept. The neighborhood is quite and we felt safe. I would definitely recommend Carina's place to stay.

Nothing fancy, just basic and clean. Had all we needed. I would stay again. I appreciate the hospitality.

This is a beautifully refurbished cottage right off the Granite City Greenway & Ararat River. It definitely feels homey like your grandparents’ place if it was spotless with an updated kitchen! We spent a lovely morning outdoors and saw deer, groundhogs, songbirds, an great blue heron and wild turkeys just across the river. The beds are very comfortable too.

Just wanted to say we enjoyed our stay so much at Wendy’s place. She was such a great host. Their wine is amazing which is right next-door makes a very nice beautiful scenery. Amazing host went way above and beyond what she should do thanks for everything.

If you want a nice spot not too far from town, this is the place. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Thank you for hosting us!

Omega & Jeff were very kind & thoughtful. So were the towns folks. I forgot a medication & my husband needed first aid when he fell. Two women were standing nearby. They got what we needed from Elk Pharmacy. The pharmacist was great. The whole town had that "small town feeling." I would love to go back to the Seaford's home again sometime.

Had a great stay. The place was super clean and felt really private, which we appreciated. Matt was a great host—very responsive and quick to help with anything we needed. Since it’s a basement unit, we could hear people moving around upstairs from time to time, but it was never too loud or a problem for us. Overall, we were really happy with the stay and would definitely book again if we’re back in the area.

Our stay was one of need over enjoyment, but we loved The Vineyard House. The house is very large, and extremely comfortable. All of the amenities were spot on, and convenience to downtown and area businesses made a lot of ease in our needs. Cherie was wonderful and prompt in our communication. When we had to make immediate extensions to our stay, we were able to reach out and get what we needed. Thanks for having us enjoy your home.

Since this was a brand new rental with no reviews, we were a bit unsure about renting. Boy, are we happy that we did. Pam is an excellent host. She’s responsive, helpful and considerate. The house is exactly as described in the listing right down to the Christmas tree in the picture (for the season). The home is newly remodeled and immaculate. The bed we slept in was comfortable with fresh linens. The home was decorated very nice and seemed to be stocked (we did not cook) with all kitchen and bathroom essentials needed. Right down to coffee, tea and snacks in the kitchen to a toothbrush and toothpaste in the bathroom. Pam’s place is a few blocks from downtown “Mayberry”. My husband and I enjoyed the brisk several block walk. We will definitely try to stay at Pam’s place again and highly recommend it. Too bad we can’t keep this little gem a secret. Super clean, nice decoration (where are all the curtains from? Great patterns !) and a superb location - we had a little walk in nature before moving on to see Galax and the Mountain Music Centre. Very close.
