Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Sunnfjord

The Flekke Birdbox is an extraordinary place, it’s more beautiful than the pictures suggest, offering a spectacular view from its 350m elevation, showcasing the ocean and distant mountain peaks. The remote location provides total seclusion, making us feel like the only ones for miles. Nearby hiking opportunities abound, with a network of gravel roads/trails for easy walks. The enormous windows allowed us to stargaze from bed, even seeing the Northern Lights. The host was responsive, suggesting a nearby hike of 2-3 hrs with a lovely lake and a fire pit. The Birdbox impressed with its details, including lights and a motion light in the bathroom. The outdoor cooking area had a hob, utensils, and a covered space with chairs, a table, and a bålpanne. Watching the sunset by the fire before retiring to a comfy bed with blankets and a heater made it true glamping. This place is a gem, and we will be back. See you next time. Lisa, Trevor, and Baylor

Very nice cabin, well equipped. Comfortable and warm. At the edge of a beautiful river. We made a small fire in the stove and had a very nice evening. Merete is a very good host who gave us clear and helpful instructions.

Nice quiet location right on the lake. We were there with three kids and had a lot of space. We very much enjoyed the lake in which we could swim, fish and sail. Margunn and Olav were very helpful with advice and action. Recommended!

The house is located in an exceptional setting. We were very generously hosted by Lars who we thank very much for his responsiveness and hospitality. We were able to enjoy the pool table, boat and hot tub. Everything was perfect! The nearby shops are also a real plus. We hope to be back, as we had a time out. Thanks for everything!

Wow! What a wonderful place, with beautiful view and wonderful host, Gives you the true authentic Norwegian cabin experience. Ívar the host is spectacular with a great eye for details. I have never encountered a host that gives you so much, you get the pease you need but feel taken care of. Trust me, staying there was a dream construe and will 100% return. Calm and serenity to describe this place. The landscapes are breathtaking. The owner is an artist, and we find her art a little bit everywhere in the house, and outside. We are traveling with 3 children, and we find all the comfort and equipment for the children. We feel like we stayed with a person of our family, the owner's welcome is warm, she is a person with a big heart, and so kind! Thank you for sharing this beautiful place, with plenty of hikes, museums and typical Norwegian things! We stayed at this place with our family with 3 children for 4 nights. We were immediately impressed by the fantastic view and the very cozy house. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are fine, the living room is very cozy. The first day we took a nice walk to the opposite mountain and met a flock of sheep there. The days after it rained a lot, but we had plenty of books and board games with us. Even in rainy weather, the view never gets bored. The instructions to get to the house are very clear, as well as to switch on gas and electricity. No downsides! Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at this cabin. The cabin is located by a quite busy road (by Norwegian standards! quiet by most standards), but is well insulated from noise and has great views. Access is easy and there is plenty of hiking to do nearby. The cabin itself is very well kept, extremely clean and cosey. We would have happily stayed there longer! Highly recommend.

We stayed at Ulrik and Susanne’s place for a month, working remotely. It was a great retreat into nature: quiet, slow paced, and with an amazing view over the fjord from the living room. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding area with our dog when the weather was good as much as cocooning by a wood fire when it rained. The area is just stunningly beautiful in any season! Ulrik, Susanne, and Ulrik’s parents were wonderful hosts: responsive, welcoming, accommodating and just allround fun to get to meet (and their border collie Sara is super friendly as well :)). We would very happily visit again!
