Can't say enough praise about this place. I was on the fence when booking this because it was 4 to 5 hour drive from Toronto and we only had 3 day weekend to spare. When we arrived at the place we were astonished by the beauty of it. The place sits on the waterfall between 2 lakes. We were using a canoe and kayaks to explore both lakes. We hiked 2 trails. The nights there are amazing and you can see all the stars. We were offered some fresh harvest from the vegetable garden. We used sauna at night and briefly jumped in to the hot tub. Having neighbors cabins close to ours we were not bothered by any of this, despite some reviews saying that it was noisy. We were absolutely happy in our say. 10/10 would book again if I'm on the east coast of Canada and have a weekend to spare. I wish we could stay there more. Patrick and Amy were friendly and helpful, we had great chats and saw each other on the trails.

We absolutely loved our vacation cabin getaway at Bob and Darlene’s. We had KC to welcome us upon arrival 🐾 Bob and Darlene prepared delicious meals and made sure we were comfortable throughout the duration of our stay. The cabins are warm and cozy. We can’t wait to visit again soon.

Mercedes place is absolutely beautiful! Everything was clean and ready for our stay, including a little treat for the bonfire! My kids loved playing out in the sand and it was private and quiet. We loved the view from the cottage and enjoyed the hot tub! Of note, the cottage is bit farther from Timmins than we expected from the listing. It was about a 35-40 min drive to get into town, 25 min gets you to the edge of town. Thanks for a great stay Mercedes!

Between the cabin that i had, and the northern landscape around the surrounding Thessalon area its probable one of the nicest places ive stayed. The lake is warm and crystal clear. Robin and her staff were the perfect hosts. If you stay at Northern Skies, i would also suggest you take the drive along 129 to Champleau. You will not want to miss that. We just got home from a wonderful week stay at Courtney’s place on MacGregor Bay. We can’t say enough great things about this place. Having a whole island to ourselves with a trail to hike, paddle boards to use, and all the amenities of home was exactly what we needed! The off grid living with a warm outdoor shower was a highlight…and the constant breeze off the bay will be missed! Our family of four all slept very comfortably. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we were pleasantly surprised to find a blender and a salad spinner! 😉 We feel very lucky to have found this gem and hope to return again soon. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

What a little slice of heaven! Highly recommend Bowhey's particularly for families. Among the best features: The wraps (totally creative), the access to the dock, the pool (very large pool) and karaoke night (so much fun!). For just a week, I was able to have my son experience life like I did in the 80s and 90s. He met new friends, played games in the pool and outside and just enjoyed a simpler pace. If this is what you're looking for, Bowhey's is for you!

It was our second time here and it was just as nice as the first time. we had a wonderful long weekend on the water and relaxing by the fire!

My friends and I did a girls cottage retreat over the weekend. This property was the perfect place! Everything was beautiful including the crystal clear water. We were also able to bring are dogs who also enjoyed the cottage.

We really loved our stay it was really cute, cozy and clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you may need. A really big yard which our dog loved. Our dog had a blast meeting all the neighbors dogs too. Neighbors were really friendly. We loved fishing & kayaking the lake, it was beautiful. Lana & Larry were very helpful & quick to respond. Our only downfall was not booking it for another night. 😊 we would love to come back next summer.

This is a one of a kind property. It's the most beautiful log cabin you can imagine, located in an idyllic, private forest setting. It's rustic but tastefully finished with all the modern conveniences of a fine home. The cabin sits on a point, perfectly angled to enjoy magnificent sunsets. It is quite secluded but there is always someone available to call if you have questions. The hosts are fantastic - friendly, warm and extremely knowledgeable about the outdoors. They went above and beyond for us. If you love nature you will be thrilled with this rental. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Our family was here for a few days on our road trip. It’s definitely a more rustic cabin. But has amazing views and we definitely enjoyed kayaking and the beach. One thing that I didn’t realize before booking is this house is on land where other family is. We didn’t run into anyone (other than the step dad showing us around when we got there) but I feel it’s worth noting. The beach is on their property too. The house also had a lot of family photos and personal belongings. Which made it almost feel like you were staying in someone’s house. All and all, it was a good stay, just feel like these would be things that people may want to know.

Such a great place to go if you want to disconnect from everything. Cabin was spotless. Fred and Linda are extremely welcoming and friendly. You can be as active as you want. Found my favorite spot sitting at the end of the dock reading and watching the clouds go by.

Our stay was lovely. So private and so beautiful. It was a grounding experience to be so close to nature. Decks with seating surround the entire cabin giving a tremendous opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

If you are looking for a place that is cozy and quiet, and if you want to enjoy Canada's nature this is the perfect stay. The forest and lake are beautiful. Hosts Kathy and Michael are very kind and helpful and the cabin has all the basics for a comfortable stay. My partner and I enjoyed our 4 day at the cabin a lot!

Beautiful view of the West Bay! Cottage was very clean and well equipped. Friendly, laid back people were staying in nearby cottages and trailers. We went to the Lavigne Tavern down the road for supper and had an excellent meal and service. Likewise, picking up ice cream from the corner store. Very friendly, warm, relaxed town - we'll be back!

Very peaceful and secluded. Just what I was looking for. Great & reasonably priced especially if you’re looking for a nice little “local” honeymoon spot. Next time I think I would rent a kayak to better access the water, but my dog sure had fun playing in it and a nice little trail that leads down.

The cottage was just the quick, quiet and peaceful getaway I was looking for. The place was simple and comfortable for one person, with room for more, right on the water and offered an expansive lake with two additional connecting lakes you could kayak to. It was great to take a long swim and nestle back in the cottage with my coffee. My favorite part was waking up to views of the water with birds chirping and sipping coffee. It’s a great place for getting away to write, escape daily life and avoid holiday crowds. Lois was very responsive and we were able to meet and connect on our passion for Hawaii. She provided some nice perks like local coffee and bottled water stocked in the fridge. I hope to be a return visitor to this little gem. Thanks for everything, Lois!
