House vacation rentals in Starved Rock State Park

The house was beautiful and perfectly clean. We had a great time enjoying the surroundings and going out to Ottawa and Starved Rock

It was a great stay for me and my son and his wife and my two grandsons. The boys loved all the games and us adults really liked the pool table. Didn't get to enjoy the pool while we were there cause it was too early in the season, but all in all a really nice place to relax. It's got everything you need there minus the food of course.Give it a shot you won't be disappointed.

I booked the house for 6 adults and we were very satisfied with our stay. The house was nice and comfortable for all of us. The kitchen/living room were fantastic and offered a great place for us all to hang out. The house and surroundings were relaxing and we enjoyed the hot tub and the fishing dock. We saw a lot of wildlife and enjoyed a nice walks around the lake. Olena was nice and responsive and we'd rent from her again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is in a quiet, pet friendly neighborhood with lovely views of the river. Everything we needed was provided and we liked the layout of the house. Regarding sleeping accommodations, there are beds for 6 people (2 queens with twin bunks above each) and additional sleeping options are provided via a pull-out sofa and 2 futons.

This place was so much fun! Busy and quirky but in a fun way. I had never seen anything like some of the decor and it was really interesting and cool to look at. Big fenced in backyard for our dog. We used this as a home base for Starved Rock State Park and Matthiesen State Park. Only 30 min from those places and 30 min from Ottawa (cool down town). I would definitely do it again.

Bachelorette weekend for my daughter in law to be. Loved the pool and hot tub. Beds were very comfortable. Michelle was available for all questions. Great Host!

We come from Chicago a couple times a year to hike at Starved Rock, Matthiesen, etc, so we thought we would try staying for a full weekend. This place was the perfect fit. It was pet friendly, so our dog could come along, and it had great amenities at the resort. The staff was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

This was one of the best stays my family and I have had! The barn itself is beautiful, but what my boys enjoyed the most was the property. We got lucky with a beautiful 50° December day. We walked the trails, threw rocks in the pond and went on scavenger hunts. Highly recommend staying here!

Really enjoyed my stay. Place was cozy and close to everything I needed. I would definitely consider staying here the next time I’m in town.

Very nice little house. Comfortable for my small dog and I. Nice neighborhood, felt at ease walking my dog, met many very nice neighbors. Would recommend! Looking forward to staying there again in the future.

This place was great! We were in town for our son's athletic event and the house is very open so we could all spread out. The kitchen was very spacious and allowed us to cook and gather around easily. We will be back again in May for graduation and we are looking forward to our stay.

It was bigger than it looked online which was awesome! It's a beautiful home really set up for people with young kids. We would definitely stay again when in the area. It was very affordable and so comfortable. My kids raved about the mattress in the basement bedroom. We loved being in such a spacious place all together.

Joel was extremely responsive, understanding and flexible. His property is exactly as explained and shown. He was so nice & was super accommodating. Will recommend this to anyone I know coming to visit. Was clean, spacious & being able to sit around a large dinning room table after a long night of driving for hours was my brother and mother’s favorite part. We’ve never liked hotels and Joel’s place just ensured we’d never have to use one for visits or family functions ever again. Will 100% be back and recommend anyone wanting a quiet house with a nice amount of space over a hotel setting at a cheaper price to check out. Joel was a super host & I can’t thank him enough for making everything so easy and transparent! 10/10 recommend! Super family friendly home!

The perfect place for a girlfriend get together. We celebrated a friend’s retirement and knew we wanted a comfy, easy drive, stay up all night and talk type of place. We were so pleased with the accommodations - the best couch to sit on and share years of memories through hours and hours of conversations. Awesome kitchen with everything we needed. Such a sweet place to stay with great friends. Felt like being at home.

EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS!!!! WOW, what a gem of a find!!!! For a large family, this is a FANTASTIC location! Even more spacious than the pictures suggest, had every amenity you might need, everything was clean, we loved being right on the river so kids could fish, and the cabin is close to all of our favorite activities (biking, hiking at Matthiessen or Starved Rock, even paintball is close in Minooka!). The host's communication was great - even a phone call in advance to ensure we had all the information we needed in advance of check in. Jason was very helpful and responsive (even offered up some great local recommendations that we will try next time. We had thought about eating out, but ended up LOVING the cabin so much, it was a unanimous vote to stay in and eat dinners at the cabin!). We all an AMAZING weekend, left with gigantic smiles, and most importantly, memories we will carry forever of shared quality family time together. THANK YOU!!!!

We absolutely loved our stay. The house is beautiful and immaculately kept. The kitchen was well stocked and there were tons of towels in each room. The beds were cozy and the heat adjusted quickly. The two highlights were (1) the beautiful deck overlooking the river, where we saw a bald eagle and sandhill cranes migrating and (2) the game room, where we enjoyed family games of pool and poker. The house was 15 minutes from Starved Rock and 2 minutes from a grocery store, so the location was super convenient as well.

We had a great stay, everyone-ages 2-70, enjoyed themselves. We loved the river view and plenty of areas to gather. It was good however, that there were many of us to keep an eye on the 2 year old, who loved exploring the many steps and rooms with some items we wanted to keep him from.

What a lovely home! It felt like we were staying in a museum (which I’ve always wanted to do), but without the do not touch signs! The furnishings and design are all perfect for the historic setting and comfortable as well. Bill is amazing at communicating quickly and didn’t seem to mind all the questions I sent him as a first-time user of Airbnb! Entry is on a keypad and the house had all the supplies we needed. I hope very much to stay there again!

The house was so beautiful, beds very comfortable, well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. It was a very comfortable and relaxing home. The host was just wonderful, always available and communicated kindly. We will be back again as our stay was just so wonderful!

We had a wonderful long weekend at this piece of history. The property is beautiful and very private. You can tell the owners care about the home and maintaining its history. This was hands down the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen at an Airbnb! Lots of linens and towels back ups provided. We had one rain day and we had fun playing many of the games made available to us. (which are countless) We now also want a mini pool table lol. Being able to get in the hot tub after a long day of hiking also was incredible. We will definitely be back!

Great place to stay, Tim was always responsive and helpful. Only downside was the construction work ongoing directly outback with this neighborhood being built.
