This was an unforgettable stay in many ways! First of all, the location. Yes, it is remote but you get so much in return. Peace, serenity and surrounded by stunning nature. The lodges (there are only 3) are clean and spacious with some really nice details and cosy interior. It does get quite warm during the nights in summer. To cool off we loved enjoying the plunge pool or the outdoor shower! But Sydney - who basically takes care of everything when you’re staying at the lodge - made our stay even better. He works hard, always with a big smile and so kind.

This is a hidden gem within the Stormberg. It has all the amenities you can wish for as well as a beautiful view. The cottage is beautifully decorated with a large bathroom. Everything you need is there. Kim is definitely a superhost, communicating with us regularly before, during and after the visit and sent very good instructions to find the route to the cottage. We had milk, tea, coffee and lovely rusks waiting for us when we arrived. The cottage has a beautiful setting overlooking a dam and part of the mountain. We are not fishermen but enjoyed the scenery, the birding both on the farm and the adjacent farm roads. We spent a peaceful old (2021) and new year (2022) at the cottage with only the occasional bird checking in. This is definitely the place to go if you want to rest and enjoy nature. We took long walks on the farm but it definitely also has cycling possibilities. A place to add to your itinerary.

The brightes blue of our beautiful african skies coloured by a bright yellow early spring sun, sometimes warm reds and then hues of purple bringing a sence of peace that heals the subconscious in a way the words will never be able to descripe. We had a fantastic stop over at Kitty's Place. peaceful and tranquil surroundings. We had the entire house. Kitty was a superhost. Beds were comfy, linen was clean and fresh. We felt right at home after a superb home-cooked meal provided by Kitty.

This was my 4th time staying over. And as always it was great. Perfect for my stop over, and my dogs are happy there too.

This is the perfect midway stop over for a family or group (including dog) travelling between Joburg and the Eastern Cape. Celeste has gone out of her way to make the place quirky and memorable while at same time ensuring your comfort and safe surroundings. The stoep is a perfect place for an evening braai and to relax after a long drive. The huge interior has many interesting objects from past days while the 4 private bedrooms (2 en-suite) are large and comfortable. The road infrastructure along this route is in excellent condition for travel and passes through magnificent scenic locations. The historic town of Aliwal North with its rejuvenated hot spring spa is a 20 minute drive away. A must visit for the adventurous traveler!
