Amazing place! So beautiful and peaceful. The cottage was as described. Check in/out was seamless, and Lindsey communicated everything we needed to know well beforehand. We felt very supported during our stay. The cottage is well-equipped, though be advised to pick up firewood if you want to use the fireplace. The bedding and furnishings were all clean and well maintained. The WiFi is quite slow, so if staying connected or using online streaming/entertainment is important to you, that is something to be aware of. The driveway up to the cottage is steep and bumpy in places, so pick your travel vehicle wisely - especially if you are in a rental! All in all, it's an absolutely incredible place to stay and the view is beyond what you even described! Absolutely breathtaking - you truly feel like you are up in the heavens 😊 We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend a stay at Highbourne Cottages.

We loved our stay! The house has all the comforts of home, including a washer/drier, dishwasher and back up power. The location is near good restaurants (we loved Champagne Bistro and Valley Bakery), various outdoor activities and hikes. The views are spectacular and the house allowed us a welcome reprieve from busy city life.

Romantic stardust cottage

We had the best time all round!! Stardust Cottage is perfectly equipped, spotlessly clean, has an extremely comfy bed and beautiful linen and Kevin is a fantastic host. The view from the cottage is stunning and although staying high up in the magnificent Berg was so peaceful, we were still close to many fun attractions. We have had many Air Bnb stays but this is most certainly one of the best!

Dalene's cottage is set in the heart of the beautiful Drakensberg, with access to many great walks. The cottage is attractive and comfortable and we enjoyed staying there. Hans and Dalene are kind and helpful hosts, which made our stay all the more memorable.

Really enjoyed our stay at the milk cottage. The cottage itself was very beautiful, well layed out and equipped with everything we needed. There were also books which our 2 year old son enjoyed reading and playing with. The property was also amazing with play areas and lots of toy trucks and a deck where you get a spectacular view of the maize plantation and the drakensberg.

This was our fourth trip to the Drakensberg, having previously stayed at another Airbnb and a well-known lodge near Helen's place. Without a doubt, this was our best experience yet. The location strikes a perfect balance. It's conveniently close to the attractions of Champagne Valley – think chocolate and great hikes – while still offering wonderful peace and quiet. And those mountain views are truly something special. The accommodation itself is excellent. The two bedrooms are very spacious, each with its own bathroom and wonderfully large beds. We appreciated the blankets, heater, and the well-equipped kitchen with its large fridge. Having full DSTV and reliable Wi-Fi was a bonus for downtime, and the Weber was perfect for braais. The place is nicely furnished and genuinely feels like a comfortable home. Dealing with Helen was effortless. Extending our stay by an extra night was handled with no trouble at all. A definite 10/10, and we'll certainly be returning!

Oh what a beautiful & peaceful place to be in. The pictures honestly do not do justice, it’s much more beautiful in person with gorgeous surroundings and the rooms are huge. The restaurant, playground and horse riding being in the same estate are a cherry on top. My family and I will definitely be coming back.

The loft bedroom features a thatched ceiling with rustic beams, creating a cozy ambiance. A spacious bed is dressed in a bright yellow throw and adorned with neutral decorative pillows. A bedside table holds a lamp, complementing the warm and inviting atmosphere.

We had a great stay and loved our time in Winterton. Savannah was really helpful with our check in and Willem was on hand to assist with any requests we had. We would recommend this stay to anyone who would like to explore the area as it is wonderfully situated. We hope to be back in the future.

We had a lovely stay! The house is big, spacious, and very comfortable. The large garden was perfect for the kids to run around and play, and the friendly dogs were an added bonus. The house is beautiful and spacious. It has everything you need. There is a washing machine, a dryer and a dishwasher. The view from the house is breathtaking and there is a clean small lake one can swim in just a few minutes from the house. There was a rock pool very close by but I understand that now it belongs to one of the properties so is not available for everyone’s use. There are so many activities in the area so we had busy packed days horse riding bird shows and vertical rush. Internet is not great. It was an absolute treat.
