Tea farm B&B (farm-to-table meals & tour included)

My wife and I experienced Japanese matcha culture during this study trip, while staying at a very authentic Japanese guesthouse. The guesthouse not only retained traditional architectural styles but was also fully equipped with modern amenities. It allowed us to enjoy comfortable accommodation while feeling at one with nature. Daiki also prepared incredibly delicious Japanese meals for us. We look forward to staying here again on our next visit.

Designer's house

Toshie was incredibly friendly and provided us with such amazing service. She came and picked us up from the train station and later dropped us back at the station after our stay. She showed us the local restaurants/cafe close by to the accommodation as well as the bus stop to get on/off should we need to use the bus to get to/back from station. The home is beautiful and very comfortable in a nice quiet residential neighbourhood. All the amenities were excellent and there were clear instructions provided. Her daughter is an incredible ceramics artist with her works featured throughout the home, adding a whimsical flair to the environment. We felt relaxed and refreshed after our stay. Highly recommended.

We had a peaceful time in a very quiet place. It was a very quiet and relaxing space because there were no people around.I am very satisfied. There was a host in the next building, so you can take care of anything right away.I asked if you could turn off the LED lights with a strong amount of light when making a bonfire, and they handled it comfortably. We enjoyed the bonfire and the starry sky.

This is a private lodging limited to one group per day, where you can cook in Hanare, which is adjacent to the main house of a rice-growing farmer.

I stayed with my small children (5 years old and 1 year old).Surrounded by rice fields, it is very quiet. The overall size was just right, and the kitchen was very easy to use. They prepared plenty of children's chairs and toys, and we had a pleasant stay. The host, Haru, and her husband welcomed us warmly, and took care of us in every detail. If I have the opportunity, I would like to use it again. Thank you very much.

It was very beautiful and we had a pleasant time. There was no place for a large group to stay, so I appreciated it. There were also two TVs and two hair dryers, which was good. Thank you very much.

I'm just on my trip to Japan and it was the best place I've had so far. You could relax superbly and the communication with the owner was impeccable.

Tea and Retreat villa in southern part of Kyoto

LiRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Maki is an exceptional host—incredibly prompt, easy to communicate with, and thorough in explaining everything about the house. The house itself is an amazing experience and exactly as the photos. It’s exceptionally spacious (for our party of 6), featuring a theater room that our kids absolutely loved and a study that my wife thoroughly enjoyed. It’s also well-stocked with amenities and a fully equipped kitchen, making our stay incredibly comfortable. The neighborhood is peaceful and secluded, which was exactly what we were looking for. While it can be a bit tricky to locate even with a rental car, it remains conveniently close to both Nara and Kyoto. If you’re looking for a memorable and unique stay in the area, I highly recommend this place!
