1845 School House in the Heart of Pultneyville

Fully renovated in the spring of 2021. According to the Pultneyville Historical Society, the first school, a small crude building, was built on this site in 1808. It burned in 1816 and was replaced by a larger schoolhouse. The cobblestone building was built in 1845 and served as a school until 1943 when the Williamson School District centralized. It is now a private residence. Notice the cobbles set at an angle. A metal bar circles the building as reinforcement — a modern addition.

Staying at the cabin is like camping, but we try to make it so you do not need to bring any gear.

This was our second stay at Turtle Cove. We love the location and being able to walk to the local coffee truck, restaurants and water. The property is very quiet and relaxing. Amy is a super responsive host too which I greatly appreciate!

A spacious living area features a stone fireplace and large windows that provide views of the lake. A comfortable gray sofa is positioned in front of a wooden coffee table, while natural light fills the room, highlighting the wooden beams of the ceiling.

My family and I wanted a secluded area but not too far from what we wanted to do. This was the perfect place. The town, with a great pizza place and homemade ice cream was 10 minutes away. It’s not a far drive from the chimney bluffs. Definitely recommend visiting those if you stay here. This house had everything and more. We stayed in October. The place is very cozy and the foliage around the house is beautiful.

A spacious wooden deck extends over Lake Ontario, with large glass panels providing an unobstructed view of the water. Multiple seating areas are arranged, including woven chairs and a small table, surrounded by trees that gently frame the outdoor space.

We were enchanted by Dans lake house. And found it worth every penny. The bed is comfortable, heater works great and the scene is very laid back. The hotels in the area seem to be of the same roadhouse quality, and we are very happy that the cottage was exactly as described. If one is to pay for a hotel it only makes sense to give to an individual instead of a thankless corporation. It is now on our list and we plan on utilizing his chefs table service in the future. Thanks again Dan take care !

in my opinion the place is bigger than advertised, and overall it's a beautiful house. The only issues I had was that the vents in a few of the bedrooms directly link to the living room and dining room so privacy is a slight issue but not a deal-breaker
