We spent 3 very rainy days at Smith Mountain Lake, and Gwen's place was the highlight for our small gathering of 2 families (4 adults & 4 kids). In terms of space for sleeping, we had more than enough. The 5th bedroom came in handy for the lone teenager in our group, and rooms are spaced throughout the house in a way that allows you to arrange them in order by who is going to sleep first. Beyond that, we spent a lot of time at the place just relaxing. There's a great hot tub/spa that's more than big enough for 4 adults, and a huge, covered back porch off the kitchen that's great for hanging out, even in the rainy winter. Gwen has stocked the place with board games, air hockey and foosball, and there's a ping pong table in the lower porch area. Based on our stay this winter, we'd love to come back when the weather is nicer. The dock is perfect for swimming and getting the kayaks out in the water. Thanks again, Gwen!

We had a great time here over our Spring Break. There is so much to do there you don't need to leave!! We loved the dock and boats, and the younger kids in our group loved the floating play mat. When it was too windy to play outside we stayed busy with ping pong, movies and PacMan. The huge kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. Stephanie was super helpful and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

Our stay at Bernard’s Landing was wonderful! The view is gorgeous! There was so much to do in the area, lots of amenities on site, and great food nearby! Josh was a fabulous host! He had snacks and beverages at the ready and was both proactively communicative and very responsive. Everyone in the area was super friendly as well!

Larry&Vera’s place is excellent. It is right next to the entrance of the state park. We was there for a fishing tournament. I stayed there a couple times and will be returning. It is always very clean. Has everything you would need .I stay in a lot of Airbnb‘s up and down the East Coast and this is one of our favorites. Plenty of room for boat and truck parking outside plug-ins for your boat,plenty of towels, washcloths, extra blankets. Trash bags, all those little things that you don’t necessarily have they have there for you . And to top it off, they leave a local bottle of wine some chocolates, fish baits, including a $30 swim bait that I seen in local bait stores at that price. And the baits to catch fish..

Todd's place was exactly what we were looking for. Our daughter had her wedding 2 houses over and it was a very convenient walk. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We love that area of Smith Mountain Lake. Todd was very communicative and checked on us during our stay. We look forward to staying there again.

What a blast! This is the second time I've facilitated a group trip to Kristie's place for a weekend of pickleball, food, and laughter. I'm already planning the next one! The house and other buildings are well-equipped and well-kept and provided everything we needed to fully enjoy our time together, including a gorgeous view of the lake from the dining table we gathered around. Absolutely recommend.

Views. Views. Views. The views. The views were absolutely stunning and the best on the lake. We rented a boat, had a lot of fun doing so, but literally spent more time at the house because of the views, privacy, and serenity. Paddle boarding, kayaking, and hanging out on the dock was spectacular. There are views from the kitchen, dining area, patio, every where you turned, the mountain was in full glory. The house was well equipped and stocked, with an added bonus of a nostalgic trip to the 80’s with the original floors and design. We had a great time taking in the serenity of it all. We felt a true connection with the energy of the space and nature. With all the hustle and bustle of our stressful lives, this listing has everything you can think of to unwind, unplug, and have a good time. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We will be back!

what a lucky find! was very flexible when I needed to shift dates. and thorough in providing instructions before hand and on site. mexican spot down the road was lovely, and we appreciated the additional info on what was still open off season. only regret was that we didn't really use outdoor space due to cold weather. but we will return and remedy that next time!

Our family enjoyed our too short of a stay over the thanksgiving holiday! This beautiful home provided all the essentials and space we needed to have a beautiful Thanksgiving feast to enjoy with family! The 2 ovens came in handy to heat our meal. We also had a short drive to enjoy hiking at the Smith Mountain Lake State Park. Would be a beautiful place to stay and visit in the warmer months as well.

Beautiful location! We truly enjoyed relaxing by the lake while we visited. The home had everything you need to take advantage of the amenities offered; lifejackets for the kayaks, basketball, skewers for roasting marshmallows in the fire pit, golf cart to get up and down from the lake, dog bowls, etc. We did not need a boat for our stay but it would be a great option to rent one and be out on the water. Crista sent info before hand to make arrangements with a local rental place. The hosts were very kind and communicated easily. Great place!

This was a beautiful cabin in the woods!! There was a great vintage feel with many modern amenities!! I loved the fresh eggs and my husband loved cooking on the vintage stove and grilling outside. We enjoyed the horseshoes and frisbee golf after a wonderful hike. We then soaked our aching muscles in the hot tub. We enjoyed eating outside on the porch next to a scenic view with a creek listening to the birds. We did not utilize the fire pit area but we do plan to go back. It is perfectly located nearby to some beautiful hikes and historic Roanoke!!

Absolutely great place to stay! Exactly as described and it was beautiful. The deck is the perfect place to hang out with your family with the grill and all the space. Inside was cozy and well kept. Jessi’s Air bnb exceeded my expectations! The house its self was beautiful, and the inside was very well kept up! The back deck made the perfect lounging area, as well as the boat dock! We enjoyed lots of sunshine at the dock! Jessi’s communication was amazing, checking in on us, keeping up to date and her response time made questions answerable within minutes! The location of the house is 15 minutes from restaurants which made it very accessible! The house is perched back into a cove, which made it very peaceful and relaxing! I would highly recommend Jessi’s air bnb!

This was a great place for our family to stay while we were in town. We are a family of 4 kids so it’s nice when all 6 of us have a bed to sleep in. Katie’s place was very clean and welcoming. She was a great host, very good communication and had some nice recommendations for places to eat. There was plenty of space for the 6 of us and the out door patio was a good retreat for some quiet in the evening. If heading to Lynchburg again, we would definitely stay here again.

Great place and wonderful stay! We decided to stop in Roanoke at the last minute and were able to book this place. The location is fantastic (less than a mile from all the cool, funky stuff in Roanoke), and the place itself looks to be an old high school, with the added bonus of a nano brewery RIGHT ON THE PREMISES (AFOG- look it up)! Check in was seamless, the place looks just like the photos, and it’s super clean (Neil even says in his welcome, not to bother with cleaning because they have a full time cleaning crew). If you’re staying in Roanoke, stay here!!!

Perfect for dog lovers and lake lovers! I’ve rented various condos at Smith Mountain Lake and several different ones at Stripers Landing, but Shannon’s place is now my new favorite. With a great view, plenty of space and the option to bring the pup - it’s such a treat. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay! The place was on the beautiful lake. The screened in porch is a huge bonus. We had plenty of space for our bags and my son's toys. It was very kid friendly. We had a great stay at this beautiful, cozy condo! The views of Smith Mountain Lake were gorgeous, and we spent a lot of time just relaxing and taking it all in. The option to choose between the screened-in and open patios was so nice to have. The condo was very clean, and the area around it is beautiful—perfect for a quiet getaway. Leslie and Craig were responsive and helpful, especially when I needed to come back to grab a few things I left behind after check-out. We also appreciated the private dock box, which had nice camping chairs for sitting by the water and floats for swimming. The condo was cozy, with plenty of blankets to keep things comfortable. We hope to be back again!

Great stay. Cute condo right above restaurant and store. Brought my SUP and used it a lot. Lots to do at Mariner’s landing. Great food and service at The Landing, Bruno’s and Bottles and Bites. State Park 7 minutes away is excellent for hiking. Lots of friendly neighbors! We’re ready to go back!!
