Lakehouse on Leesville Lake in Bedford County VA

EveRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We came to the lake house for a reset. It absolutely did not disappoint! Some of the views felt right out of a movie scene. The hosts were also super responsive, added personable touches to my visit, and had everything I could possible need for a fun & relaxing lake weekend. I especially loved the wrap around porch, the view of the sunrise over the lake, & hummingbirds all around!

The Gate House - Lake Views and Private Cove

SandraRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
This is a picturesque quiet spot. It was so beautiful. I was there for graduation so was unable to utilize all amenities i.e. kayak and paddleboard. the decks are beautiful, the scenery is relaxing and the house is well appointed. It was so fun to have a foosball table and ping pong table downstairs. The couch in the basement was also super comfortable! The kitchen had everything you would need even spices that are beyond the salt and pepper.

Shady Oak at Water’s Edge

TomRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Shady Oaks is located in a quaint development right on the water. It's heavily wooded with lots of shade. The neighborhood is generally quiet and there is a private road that loops down and back. The house is well maintained and features lots of outdoor space to enjoy your stay. Water access is via the dock which also features an elevated deck above the dock. The kids and I spent most of our time at the dock--enjoying the cove by either fishing or kayaking (2 come with the rental). Relaxing on the deck was also great in the evening. We brought our puppy since dogs are allowed (extra $25 per day upto 2 dogs). It was nice to have an enclosed deck off the main level for our puppy to enjoy with us. The beds were very firm memory foam, but comfy. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensil, gadgets, spices, and oils. The location is convenient to the state park (a must), Virginia Dare boat tour, restaurants, and shopping. Overall a good 3-day weekend stay.

Our family had a fabulous time at One the Rocks. The setting was gorgeous, the kids loved the boathouse set-up and the house was very well stocked with everything we needed to make Easter dinner. We loved having the flexibility of the other cabin when our group grew. We hope to come back next year!

A Waken at Smith Mountain | Lake-front A frame

AllegraRating, 5 stars1 week ago
What a lovely little a-frame house! Perfect for a weekend getaway. The house is a little quirky - only one bedroom has a door and wall for privacy. The other bedroom is a loft upstairs with a curtain and the basement is down a small spiral staircase that is open to the main floor. Great for friends or a young family, but maybe not older folks because of the spiral staircase. Two back decks (not screened), and an additional separate screened-in porch at the front of the house. Steep, long staircase down to your own private dock, with plenty of room for boat parking or other activities! The house is on a nice, quiet inlet at the top of the lake, so the boat traffic wasn't an issue or noisy at all on a holiday weekend. Conveniently 10 minutes away from the Food Lion. All of the amenities were great! We especially loved the access to kayaks and SUP. I would definitely stay here again!

Recently Renovated Cabin on Smith Mountain Lake

John MikeRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Jonathan’s home was everything and more than what we’d been looking for! He is a true “super host”!! Of all the AirBNBs we’ve stayed in over the years, his truly felt like a home! His home was nestled in a quiet community immediately on the water! We were able to swim and paddle board daily, visited family close by, but had somewhere to retreat to when we were ready to escape! Jonathan was fabulous! Easy to reach, quick to respond, and had LOADS of recommendations for restaurants, stores nearby, and other activities! We felt like heading out towards Kroger made the most sense for one stop shopping and then you can visit the Bridge water marina and some of the cute restaurants and shops near there! Couldn’t recommend staying here more if you’re considering a place to stay!!!
An open layout dining area featuring a large wooden table set for eight, surrounded by high-backed chairs. A cozy living space is visible in the background, with a sofa and decorative wall art. A spiral staircase leads to the upper level, while modern kitchen appliances are neatly arranged.

Smith Mountain Lake Cabin “Serenity Point”

ZachRating, 5 stars8 months ago
We spent the weekend here and all thoroughly enjoyed it. The house has plenty of space and all the amenities you need to get comfortable and relax. The outside is second to none as far as lake houses go at SML: fire pit, kayaks, beach area, picnic table, plenty of tree shade. The check in and out process is painless as well. Chad and his place are great.

Beautiful cabin on the lake with some stellar views. The house has a really cool layout and the fire pit area is huge. It was really secluded and the cabins nearby were all full of friendly people. Would definitely stay again, and some family friends have already reserved it for later this year! 10/10 would recommend.

Pinnacle Cabin

KarlyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
By far the best overall Airbnb experience we’ve had. The house is absolutely lovely, the location is amazing, the beds are comfortable (so rare in a rental!) and the kitchen is well stocked with all the cookware you need. The house is situated high on the property so views are stunning and can be enjoyed high up on the deck, midway down the lawn on the patio, or on the dock. Stand up paddle boards and kayaks were available to fill the afternoon. Really, we could not have picked a better location. To top it off, Barbara and Kyle were lovely. They always responded within minutes and went out of their way to help me coordinate arrival from the west coast. I was in town for my father’s memorial, which they knew, and they had fresh flowers and a warm note waiting for us. We felt so welcome and cozy in the home. If you’re looking for a spot on SML, you really do not need to consider any other options. Book pinnacle cabin, it’s all upside.

Treetop & Waterfront! Hot Tub, Kayaks, Game Room

CarissaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This place was heavenly! The home is beautiful, the amenities Taylor provides are endless (spices, towels, toiletries, etc), and we had such a fun stay here. It rained for most of our stay but the covered patio allowed us to still spend hours outside. When we weren’t on the porch we were using the game room or cuddled up on the couch. We cannot wait to come back. If you have a chance- eat at Vinny’s! We went back 2x

Lakefront sunsets~Pickleball~Game room~Dock~Kayaks

AnthonyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Had a great few days here, everything was clean, the property is in a great location and so much to do at the house! Everything was clean, beds were comfortable, we fished, played games in the game room, had a fire in the fire pit, rented a boat and we're able to dock it at the house for a break to reload the coolers. We loved seeing all the whitetail deer roaming the neighborhood. Rachel and Chad have done a great job making this a getaway spot that feels like a vacation destination, while also feeling cozy and private, can't wait to come back!

Cedar Key Retreat

SusanRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
More than exceeded our expectations! Even more beautiful than the pictures! We wish we had found this place when our first of 3 went to Liberty University, rather than for the graduation of our youngest. Our stay was too short to fully enjoy all the fun things to do ie on the lake and campfire. We felt like we could spread out with the four different patios/ porches, yet we could all come together and spend time in the extra large family room. Great place to walk - absolutely gorgeous! This place is amazing!!

Jessi’s Air bnb exceeded my expectations! The house its self was beautiful, and the inside was very well kept up! The back deck made the perfect lounging area, as well as the boat dock! We enjoyed lots of sunshine at the dock! Jessi’s communication was amazing, checking in on us, keeping up to date and her response time made questions answerable within minutes! The location of the house is 15 minutes from restaurants which made it very accessible! The house is perched back into a cove, which made it very peaceful and relaxing! I would highly recommend Jessi’s air bnb!

Cozy Lakeside Mountain Home

JudithRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Robert was very welcoming and responded promptly to any questions that came up. He is very invested in creating an exceptional experience for his renters. The waterfront and back porch were among our favorite places to be. A very tranquil and private home surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The home is in a quieter part of the lake, but it was easy to pick up items from the nearby Mini Mart, and there is a Dollar General within a 9 minute drive. Very little traffic on roads in the area throughout our stay, which was greatly appreciated. The kitchen had all the seasonings and cookware we needed, and the beds and linens were very comfy. Robert provided an excellent referral for boat rentals, and we saw much of the lake via pontoon. This was exactly what we were looking for! Thank you, Robert!

Smith Mountain Lake quiet cove w/ kayaks & firepit

ConnorRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We used this property for a boys trip, and the property did not disappoint. The house was very cozy and comfortably fit all eight of us. The dock was well put together and we enjoyed using it for fishing or docking the rental boat there. Overall a great property in a great neighborhood. Just be cautious if you come before Memorial Day weekend, some of the restaurants near by will not be open yet.
