Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Sintra

We are locals and rented Mariana's place while we put the finishing touches into our new home which was delayed. Mariana was extremely helpful and understanding with our shifting check in and check out requirements given constant changes with mover and builder schedules. Mariana was so friendly and responsive. She sent us wonderful information to make the most of the area. Since we live here we didn't need it, but anyone coming for a visit will get the best of the best of the local experience. The house was perfect. Great location, great distribution. Great light. The pool was refreshing fun. Everything better than in the pictures and the description. If we ever need to refer anyone to a place to stay in Colares, Mariana's place will be top of the list. Highly recommended....and I have stayed in many Airbnbs all over the world.

I rented this house for my parents when they were in town for a visit -- it's a great space with an amazing view and they loved it. The kitchen and dining area was great to join them for dinner and if we had planned ahead more we definitely would've taken advantage of the bbq grill in the garden!

I live in the area and were looking for an Airbnb while we waiting for the final touches on our home. Felipe's house stood out. Felipe was super helpful with flexible check in and check out which was essential. The house was very comfortable and perfect for what we were looking for. If you are looking for a woodsy relaxed Colares stay, I high recommend Felipe's house.

We consider this house to be on another level when it comes to the traditional Airbnb. You are essentially living in a private part of a palatial mountainside with amazing views of the forest , coastline and sunsets. The house is an ancient hermitage that is supremely well kept and the owners’ sophistication shines through. The gardens and terraces are absolutely beautiful and a joy to walk around with ponds, fountains and lovely forest pathways. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to make delicious meals. Beds are very comfortable and Mariana, the housekeeper, keeps the house spotless and the grounds are very well kept by the gardener. Cristina who owns the property is the most generous host who greeted us with a delicious homemade quiche and other provisions so we did not have to go shopping upon our arrival which was fantastic after a long journey. When visiting Sinatra, this home is such a privilege and will only enhance your stay!

This was one of the best stays abroad I’ve ever had! The house is incredibly beautiful and situated in a friendly small town. It was easy to get to the sights in Sintra, but even from the house there is lovely walks into the hills. The house was incredibly well equipped with crockery, CDs and board games. Lovely Maria even left a bottle of wine for us! One of the highlights of our trip to Portugal was staying in this house, it’s a beautiful beautiful place and incredibly well curated.

Very good stay with Mariana and her husband. Good communication, easy check-in. The place is very nice and well kept. Great for shining in the area. Sintra is less than 15 minutes away by car. Large mall next door. It went very well!

We had a fantastic stay in Rita's lovely vila. It's situated in the middle of a lush greenery of a National Park. the views of the mountains are breathtaking. The vila was very cozy and walking distance from the ocean. Woudl really recommend to anyone.

Very calm and beautiful property

Excellent week spent in 1 dream place. The place, the setting, the access, everything was there and especially without forgetting Joanna and Ronny who are admirable and available hosts. We recommend it and will go back without a second thought.

The facilities and living/sleeping spaces were amazing for our family of 10 adults plus a 2-year-old. 6 large comfortable bedrooms. the pool was brilliant as we could roll back the cover for sunbathing and close it for indoor swimming when it got chilly. the pádel court was a hit as was the 5 aside football pitch. The indoor games room had everything (pool, table tennis, darts, computer games etc...) so great for evening activities. The Lidl was 10 minutes drive and had most things (not so great on veggie options though). The beach was a 5 minute drive away - we didn't try cycling there as there is a steep hill. We had cars but tbh might have been better ubering as only really needed for Lidl and the beach. Elisa was fantastic - really quick to respond and sent lots of great recommendations. highly recommended

We came as travellers and left as genuine friends – this a often sain and in this case, it’s absolutely true. Gabriel is a genuinely thoughtful, kind, and heartwarming host. The guest house was spotless, perfectly sized for a couple and their small dog, with everything we needed – even secure on-site parking. The garden, shaded by mature native trees, was peaceful and beautifully laid out – we always felt free to relax, never intruded upon, just warmly welcomed. Gabriel gave us space and privacy, yet was always on hand with great suggestions and local tips. Our dog was completely at home too – even curling up in Gabriel’s house, under the dining table on the rug where his own dogs once lay. It truly felt like home from home. We’re about to begin a project in the area, we’ll be staying with Gabriel again during the build. He and Yvonne are lovely, generous people and we wish them all the best in whatever they do next.

Rosa was a wonderful host, very kind and always available if we needed her. When we arrived late in the evening, Rosa made sure we had items to nibble on and drink to enjoy. We really enjoyed our stay, and can’t thank Rosa enough. Accommodation was lovely, a taste of Portugal within a good walking distance to restaurants and a short drive from Sintra. Lovely pool, quiet and beautiful setting to relax in. We felt very comfortable and could just enjoy ourselves stress free! Thanks Rosa for your consideration and kindness.

This place is a real sanctuary. Surrounded by trees and totally peaceful, but only a short drive from beaches, shops, restaurants. It's well kitted out, with beautiful design touches everywhere. Lots of different areas in the wonderful garden to sit or lounge in. Being in the hills its cooler than the cities, but was fine for us in September. Paola was super-attentive and amenable throughout. All in all a perfect retreat for two.

Great stay, I love it, I'll come back. I loved everything, the mill, the cleanliness and the pool with a great sea view. I would highly recommend this quiet and full of charm 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great location, very peaceful, close to the city centre and key local attractions. We were a family of four and the house was very spacious to easily accommodate all of us.

Such a beautiful place! The house is beautifully decorated, with an amazing atmosphere surrounded by nature. Everything felt thoughtfully designed and welcoming, it was a true pleasure to stay here. We were a big group and the moment we arrived, we were all completely charmed by the house. We had a great time and would definitely love to come back!

Brilliant, so cosy and the beds soooo comfortable. sangria (ordered separately) was amazing and huge, we couldn't finish it. everything is amazing and easy, our daughter loved Charlie the great dane 😀. Town is 10min walk but steep uphill on way back. Huge amount of restaurants and bars. Park is just behind with peacocks, chickens and peaceful. Please be aware everything (palaces etc) are really spread out so book a tour!. The amount of people desperate for a lift or tuktuk was funny. ubers are readily available but roads are small windey and busy at times. hope this helps.

Allan's space was BEAUTIFULLY appointed. The space is quite large and had everything I could have possibly needed including very easy parking just outside at the end of the street. This was such an easy and relaxing stay for me. I also got to meet the family upstairs and their 3 lovely little dogs (which are very sweet). I asked to see the dogs and they graciously let me pet them for a while, but were very respectful of my space and privacy (for those who are not dog fans). I left feeling genuinely rejuvenated. This was an excellent choice for me and when I return to Sintra will come back.
