Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Shelby County

We wanted a quick, midweek, night away for our 20th Anniversary. We’d had a particularly overwhelming a stressful, busy couple of weeks with other family commitments and a death near the family. We booked the day before our stay- very last minute! Becky & Heather were fantastic hosts. The house was ready, the hot tub looked brand new it was so clean, the backyard is an oasis of relaxation, and everything was just perfect. We were able to relax and enjoy! We ordered take out from the nearby Crestwood Bistro- delicious!! Just wish we’d had more time. We’ll definitely recommend Becky & Heather’s place to friends and family.

The location is superb is you are trying to see Kentucky. The distance to Louisville, Lexington and Frankfort are all about equal. Shelbyville is a few miles away and it has some great restaurants and nice shopping. While staying there we visited Churchill Downs, Buffalo Trace and Shelbyville. The house has kayaks and a little fishing equipment. We spend a lot of time on the decks and fishing on the dock. This was a great, peaceful getaway from life at home.

Had a excellent time at this location. The house was beautiful with great amenities including an amazing bar! Great location for visiting distilleries or Churchill Downs.

We loved it very close to home and will defiantly be doing it again felt just like we were family visiting when you guys stopped by .. I tried to clean up the best I could I hope I could make it easier for the cleaning lady she was so sweet

This house was great for our big family get-together. It had all the space we needed for 16 people (8 adults and 8 kids) and had plenty of activities to keep us busy! We enjoyed nights by the fire, time in the hot tub, games, and conversation. It was just a great all-around meeting place for all of us that live around the country. The house is also located on a country road that we enjoyed walking on. It was close to both Lexington and Louisville, which was super convenient for going out and doing stuff! Also close to shops and groceries. Super clean and great hosts!!!

This property is so beautiful and peaceful! We went with our family of four and my parents. My dad is struggling with mobility so David allowed us to drive him to the pond to fish. My family really enjoyed the scenery, farm sounds & beautiful home!

Your place was absolutely amazing. The perfect old country home. The beds were super comfortable the kitchen has everything you need. The fire pit is an awesome perk to the property. I asked about going fishing and they were able to give me fantastic directions and we were able to catch some fish. I will definitely stay again when we come next year. Thank you so much for your hospitality and all your help during our trip.

Great clean place in quiet and historic neighborhood.

This beautiful spot was exactly what we needed for our biking getaway weekend. Jeanne was quick to help out when we had questions and was very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again the next time we're in the area.

What a beautiful Kentucky countryside home away from home! Everything was lovely and spit spot; thank you for sharing your home suite, so that we could spend time with our family in the area.

This is a gem, especially at its current price point. Apartment is right in the heart of downtown, one block from 4th Street Live, a short drive from NuLu and the Bardstown Rd area. Louisville has really invested in revitalizing these areas with a ton of eclectic restaurants, bars and entertainment venues. The Apartment provides all new appliances, w/d, great balcony views, and security, with fob only access to the building and parking garage. There is a large private pool w/sun bathing area, hot tub and grill area for socializing. I was pleasantly surprised at check-in and thrilled by check-out with my decision to book with Devin and NaKayla! Whenever I come back to Louisville, I'm gonna look to book with them and would advise the same IF a one bedroom accommodates your needs. 5 STARS 🌟

The host was great at communicating with us before, during and after our stay. They not only provided so much useful information about the home and area but gave customized information, worked with us for an early check-in and checked on us after we arrived. She's super friendly and the home is great. With the 2 rules being take off shoes and have fun... it was a great place and somewhere we would certainly stay again if we're in the area.

Brandon and his team were hugely communicative via text, which is actually my preference, and I appreciated his assistant really helping me out w a specific ask that I had, Kayla went above and beyond, big kudos to her!!! Would *absolutely* stay there again if I ever make it back to the Derby!

Stayed for two night for a wedding, the place was very clean, amenities as described, and the kitchen was stocked with everything needed to prepare a meal. My dogs, partner and I had a great time walking to nearby parks. I would definitely stay here again!

We loved staying here and it was the perfect location for our family Easter! I truly can’t say enough great things about this cabin and the owners! It was very clean and well appointed with anything you need and the owners were very accommodating and kind! They helped with a couple requests, including a pack and play and high chair. We were able to cook a large Easter dinner with the stocked kitchen appliances and cookware. The property is very serene with plenty of privacy and great options for hiking around. The location is also not too far to get to the grocery store and restaurants. Lastly, the pool table and hot tub were a hit! We highly recommend to stay here and know we will definitely be back for another stay!

We loved our time at the Gopher Wood cabin! It was a great spot to unwind after our busy days at the Ark Encounter (20 min drive) and the Creation Museum (1 hour drive). The bird watching was on point and the valley was very peaceful. The place was just like the pictures, and everything was very clean. We would stay there again!

We found Carolyn’s place to be peaceful. The view of the lake is beautiful from the back porch. The house is clean. We were communicated with very well. She even checked to make sure we arrived okay and asked if we needed anything. She gave great instructions on finding the house. We would recommend this home to others if they are looking for a peaceful stay. The house is not far from some great distilleries as that is one of the reasons we came to visit. The surrounding areas are incredibly beautiful. Grocery stores are not far as well. We would visit again.

If I could give this 10 stars I would! Beautiful little Cabin with so much history inside. Full kitchen, Cozy living area, sleep number bed was very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, so many flowers, plants, trees, just perfections and very quiet. Tammy and Jane greeted us as we checked in and showed us around. Tammy also made us breakfast every morning, fresh and homemade and even a to go basket on our last morning. The neighborhood is very peaceful. We were visiting for the derby and wished we had more time to enjoy this little peace of beauty!

We had the best time! The cabin was just as pictured and perfectly fit our needs, the host guide book on here was helpful! Really overall just the nicest place and host was very communicative. It was a great touch they had coffee available as we were mostly eating out and would have had to stop at the store just to get coffee and saved us a trip! Would happily come back.

cabin was very clean and a great place if your doing the bourbon trails! about 20-30 min to them depending on the one you choose!

Very cozy place. If you like camping without the mess, this is the place. Would stay again.
