Places to stay in Shamokin

We visit Harrisburg every year to gather with family at my brothers house. In past years w would stay at hotels but now we are needing 3 bedrooms and decided to try an airbnb 10 min from my brothers house. Johns place was perfect for us having 3 BR and 2 baths. The house is spacious and wooded with a beautiful deck and a big open living room kitchen area. We enjoyed having a kitchen and a washer dryer. The neighborhood is nice for walking. Theres a pond nearby where we saw a baby turtle. Lots of flowering bulbs and trees everywhere. Lots of deer. We styed 3 nights and it worked out very well for us. The only thing I dont recommend is drinking the tap water which is hard and metallic taste. The filtered water from the fridge is better.

nice cabin in the woods. you can see the neighbors, but they weren't that close. everything was clean. enjoyed our visit. would have been even better if it wasn't cold and rainy outside, but hot tub helped with that.

We LOVED our weekend!! Anne was the best host from the day we started searching a place. I had a large group I was bringing to PA, and she was so willing to talk through our needs and make sure her home fit those needs before we booked! She answered all questions I had, helped us with local needs like grocery options and the distance to our quiz location, and she went above and beyond making us feel welcome!! The house was perfect. The individual rooms and bathrooms fit our needs-but, the main level kitchen and living room brought us all together, and blessed me! We already talked about booking it again when we return every 3 years!! Anne, thank YOU! Thank you for your kindness, for welcoming us, for the ways you blessed us (eggs are a gift), and for allowing us to stay in your home! We pray others feel as blessed by your hosting and we did!!

This place fit perfectly for us over a busy weekend attending the PIAA Championship. Great kitchen, great bedrooms, useful utilities and modern amenities. The hosts were proactive and helpful. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at James' place and hope to be back again. Beautiful home with lots of open space inside and out. Amazing views and lots to do on the property. The kids loved the video games consoles, and we all enjoyed the hot tub! James is a great host who is very responsive and helpful. When we had an issue with the dishwasher, James coordinated maintenance the same day without interrupting our stay. We will be back!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Steve’s house. Everything was as pictured. We were in town to visit AOAA and the circle driveway easily accommodated our enclosed ATV trailer. This is a quiet spot just outside of town. We would definitely go back!

Our stay at Cozy Pine Cottage was peaceful, quiet, and the birds would chirp and sing a bit every now and then. Which was very nice. The neighbor nearby did start up the chain saw Saturday morning but, not till after 8 am. The cabin was very comfortable, and nice touches by Sarah with pretty throw blankets, chocolate left for us, and info about local things to see and do. I would recommend this cottage to any couple wanting to get away together for some much needed quality time together. The hot tub was wonderful for in the evening under the stars.
