Sleepy Raccoon Cabin! Peaceful and quit.

FerneRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The Sleepy Racoon Cabin is a small, simple house in an incredibly beautiful and peaceful setting. A wild turkey was often nearby. So many birds - a joy to watch - flocked to the feeders. There were quail and lizards - we loved it! Convenient to King's Canyon, it made a great home base for our exploration of the park. Kim's hospitality was truly wonderful. She was there to welcome us, answer questions, and she made us feel welcome and at home. If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful retreat - if you want to spend time in Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park - the Sleepy Racoon is a great place to be.

Live Oak Cabin ~ Listen to River & Enjoy New BBQ

TiffanyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It is ideally located just minutes from the entrance to Sequoia NP. It's truly one of the most convenient spots you could ask for if you're planning to explore the parks. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature. Right across the street is Totem Market, which offers delicious salads and sandwiches. We really appreciated the friendly hospitality and the convenience of having it so close by. While local restaurants served great food, prices were on the higher side, which we expected for the area. The cabin itself was clean, well-maintained, and well-stocked, especially the kitchen. We didn’t use the fire pit or BBQ, but both were available. The only minor issue we encountered was needing to jiggle the toilet handle occasionally to keep it from running. Otherwise, everything was perfect for our family of three. We highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable base to explore Sequoia.

We loved the location, which is within 3 miles of Sequoia National Park entrance. The pool area had a child protection gate/fence around it, which really put our minds at ease. The balcony views were lovely! Really loved the interesting art work as well!

What a treat to stay here. If you’re an animal lover this is your paradise! We got to feed and pet the horses and the hosts’ two dogs greeted us and were so cute and friendly and loved the pets we were eager to give. Gorgeous property. Amazing hosts. Comfortable and relaxing place to stay very close to local town restaurants and brewery. A great place to stay while visiting the beautiful Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park.

A Stunning River Retreat ~ pool * hot tub * sauna

DustinRating, 5 stars2 days ago
A gem in the river. The property is expensive and it has all the amenities you could ask for... pool, spa, great seating, fire pit, and all right on the river. it felt very private even though we knew there were other properties around us, you just couldn't tell. Our host was very helpful and recommended a local rafting guide that was phenomenal! The beds and pillows were also very cozy. We will be sure to come back the next time we visit Three Rivers.

Shipping container cabin forest retreat for 1-4

In a very quiet subdivision of mountain chalets a short walk from a lovely pond. Very practical having the two bedrooms on separate floors, providing separation even though the total square footage is small.

Sarinah is very helpful and proactive. She gave precise instructions as to how to get to the place. She is very responsive and responds to queries promptly. The drive was worth the amazing view! đŸ©· Peaceful and relaxing after an adventurous day at the parks (Sequoia and King’s Canyon). Basking in the hot tub relishing the sunset and stargazing at night was the perfect way to cap off the day. It was a pleasant stay! Will definitely book again! â€ïžđŸ©·

Perfection: Private Giant Sequoias, 100 Mile Views

MichaelRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Absolutely stunning. From the pictures and description, I thought there was no way it could be that good, but it actually blew away my expectations. Beautiful location, views, and scenery. I will be coming here every single year moving forward. It had everything I was looking for and more. If you want to escape the city and connect with nature, you will have a hard time finding a better place than this. Also, the hosts were extremely helpful and responsive throughout the whole trip. Thanks and see you next time!

Your guide to Sequoia National Forest

Welcome to Sequoia National Forest

There’s no better way to put things in perspective than to stand among the largest trees in the world at Sequoia National Forest. The biggest sequoia trees tower as tall as a 26-story building, and their gnarled bases are wider than a city street. Many are more than 3,400 years old. The 1.1 million-acre Sequoia National Forest is home to 33 groves of these astounding trees. (Don’t confuse it with Sequoia National Park, which borders the forest, alongside Kings Canyon National Park.) You could spend your entire trip pondering the absurd majesty of these ancient giants, but there’s a lot more to do here. Within the boundaries of Sequoia National Forest you’ll also find granite monoliths, canyons carved by ancient glaciers, more than 200 miles of wild rivers dotted with roaring rapids, and rugged mountain peaks that loft more than 12,000 feet into the high country. The park’s untrammeled wilderness offers more than 1,147 miles of trails, including 47 miles of the vaunted Pacific Coast Trail that stretches from Canada to Mexico. Sequoia National Forest is an unparalleled outdoor playground, and biking, horseback riding, fishing, mountain climbing, boating, and snow sports are all possible here.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Sequoia National Forest

Here in the high country, it’s a good idea to plan for all kinds of weather year-round. Summer is an ideal time to book one of the area’s cabins if you’re into hiking and boating, although temperatures sometimes soar and there are occasional thunderstorms. Fall brings rain — but also spectacular foliage as the leaves turn color. It snows in winter, and temperatures can fall below freezing. The forest tempts skiers and snowshoers, as well as those who simply want to see the massive sequoias blanketed in white.

Top things to do in Sequoia National Forest

Giant Sequoia National Monument

Sprawling over 328,000 acres, this swath of forest is home to 33 groves of towering sequoias. The Trail of 100 Giants is a well-maintained walking path appointed with benches, restrooms, and interpretive signs that will carry you past several arboreal highlights, including fallen sequoias. Converse Basin Grove is home to the 269-foot Boole Tree, the sixth-largest tree in the world. It’s also home to the Chicago Stump, all that remains of a massive tree that was cut down and reassembled for crowds at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.

The Needles

A 2.5-mile trail will transport you to the Needles, a cluster of impressive granite rock spires that tower over the landscape. The hike ends with a series of wooden staircases that lead onto a dizzying catwalk. Visitors are rewarded with sweeping views of the forest valley and Mount Whitney.

Kings Canyon Scenic Byway

This 50-mile road threads through Sequoia National Forest, the Sierra Nevada Foothills, and Kings Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the country. The two-to-three-hour drive will carry you past jaw-dropping scenery, and allows for an easy side trip to see the 275-foot-tall General Sherman, the world’s largest tree.
