Family-friendly vacation rentals in Second Valley

We came down from Queensland to get married on Aldinga beach!! This space had the space we needed while feeling private and close to the beach and restaurants. Our two dogs loved the back yard and getting warm by the fire. The hosts were always quick to respond and very helpful. We loved our stay!! Telitha, Nick + Roo and Lilly (our dogs)

This was my second time staying at Cathy’s place, and once again, it was a great experience. The apartment is in a very convenient location — just a short walk to Chinatown, with easy access to shops and restaurants. Cathy is a wonderful host; communication was smooth and she responded quickly to any questions or requests. The check-in process was easy, and the apartment was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for a short or extended stay. I really appreciated the thoughtful touches that made the space feel welcoming. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

Trudi’s place is the perfect city HQ for events at the Adelaide Convention Center across the street. We could walk and catch the free tram to the South Australian Museum, Adelaide Botanic Garden, Adelaide Central Market, great restaurants, and more. It was wonderful to have a full kitchen, laundry, and beautiful space to return to each evening. It is well thought out and very clean, and Trudi is so friendly, responsive, and welcoming. We highly recommend!

Madeleine’s place was clean, neat and comfortable. She was very responsive and helpful prior and during our stay. Our toddler had a great time and the cot and high chair were extremely helpful and allowed us to pack lighter!

Lisa’s place was perfect for our family of 4 getaway. Located right on the beach with gorgeous views of the sunset and 10 minutes drive to the McLaren Vale winery. The beds were really comfy and the living room spacious. Lisa was a perfect host

We booked Kingfisher Creek for my birthday as a mums retreat. We instantly felt relaxed and within a few hours already planning our next stay. Eleonora was everything we could ask for as a host - polite and helpful. She even turned the heaters on so we would come into a warm space. Thankyou we will be back!

Historic cottage perfect for a weekend away. The continental breakfast provisions meant not having to buy basics which was super handy. Loved the location and local restaurants.

Jackie's property was an ideal home away from home. Clean, welcoming, a fabulous outdoor space for humans and fur kids, walking distance from the beach and minutes from local shops. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return again!

What an ideal little spot! Sarah was lovely and welcoming. The property was everything we expected and more, the animals are beautiful, and truly gave us more than just a getaway, they gave an experience. We will be back, thank you Sarah.

Great spot to stay. As advertised it had plenty of room for our family of 6. Such a cracking area to stay. Less than 20 minutes walk to the beach.

A lovely homely place to stay, very accommodating for our dogs to have a fun morning and night before bed in the dog trailer. Very helpful and responsive hosts

Great place to stay. Everything you need is available and clean. Welcome pack in the fridge is good after a long day travel. It is walking distance to the beach and cafes. The house is a good size and suits us well for a hassle free getaway.

The large house suited 4 adults and 3 young children very well, close to all the village facilities and ferry. Geoff was immediately responsive to any minor concerns we had, so our few days there went very well. The village also has a RAA charging station which was valuable for the EV we took over.

First time staying at this property, but like other properties of Lucy’s they are managed extremely well. We look at availability of Lucy’s before other AirBNBs. Stunning views, amazing location and dog friendly for the fur baby. Beautiful property which we would happily stay at again. Hosts are very responsive and thoughtful leaving basic groceries for our arrival.

We loved staying at the Retro House. We were in the area to visit McLaren Vale. Retro House was only 15 minutes away and was easy to arrange an uber. The house has everything you need and spacious. Lounge room recliners are really comfortable. We loved playing the cds and watching movies from the dvd collection while hanging out. The beds are so comfortable. We talked about this every morning! We loved the location, so close to the beach. We were lucky enough to enjoy eating out at Star of Greece and The Little Rickshaw. Both incredible. Bakery in Aldinga also yum.

We had a quiet and comfortable night. The host was very warm and polite! The room was beautifully designed and very cozy. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. We’d love to come back if we have the chance.

What a great place to stay. Old, but clean and specious with everything you would want including home grown tomatoes and homemade fig jam. the gardens, unfortunately affected by the drought, are great. We would have loved to see them in their full glory. The owners were great also and promptly top us up with a couple of items we were running out of. We would certainly stay again.

Our group had a fantastic stay. We enjoyed the pool and use of the projector. We enjoyed the space greatly and highly recommend to all. All communication was greatly appreciated. Thank you for having us. We would love to return again.

stayed with my parents. and we all agreed that it was a great place to stay. comfortable beds, plenty of room. very clean. great kitchen ( although we didn't cook). fantastic view of the sea from the balcony and lounge. shops are close enough to walk to. and a couple were very close ( fish & chips and a coffee shop). would not hesitate to stay again.

We chose this property based on its location, size and the fact it had a large pool for the kids – it did not disappoint on any of these. Location was great for us, albeit a little further out of the city but our priority was to be close to the beach and as it was only one block away, it was perfect. The property is about a 15min walk from Semaphore centre which has plenty of amenities, small supermarket, restaurants and shops and with Henley beach less than a 10 minute drive away, there are plenty of options. The property has lots of space, the four bedrooms were a good size. The living areas were substantial as were the outdoor areas. The property would benefit from some cosmetic work, some paint was peeling off in some areas but this did not detract in any way from our stay. We would certainly stay at this property again. A big thank you to our hosts ☺️

Great location! Everything is the CBD was easily accessible. About a 15 minute walk to Adelaide oval. Jessie gave great recommendation for things to do in the city and the apartment was in great condition with great views off the balcony.
