Homes in Santorini

Simple House Santorini
The accommodation offered by Alexandros is very well located, at the entrance to Fira, in a very quiet private subdivision while being a few minutes walk from shops, a bus station which then allows easy access by bus to the other towns on the island. The apartment is spacious, well-equipped, and the bedding is very comfortable.

VILLA MATILDE-VOLCANO VIEW
Maria place was perfect and superb. Maria place was just in front of the 3 blue dome and we don't need to line up to take photo of the blue domes. There always a long queue outside the place because tourists taking photo of the domes. We love Oia and the place we stayed in.Her staff(porter and the transportation driver)was helpful n friendly they make our day.Everyday there a cleaning lady who clean and tidy up our bed and the house and also change a new set of towel and face towel.I got a shock they have this for and Airbnb. and i thought it only done that in hotel. Thanks Maria for your beautiful staff. This is my best airbnb I stayed in and also the location

AROMA CAVAS Suite with caldera view
Nikos is a great host, very helpful and welcoming! The authentic greek hospitality! The place is clean, confortable with a great view and all the amenities needed. The place is less than 5 minutes away from good restaurants and supermarkets. I recommend Nikos's apartment! Thanks again for everything!!

Old Vourvoulos Houses - Elegant Loft for 2-4!
Super clean, beautiful place, good location between both city centers.

Villa Helena Santorini- Private Plunge Pool & BBQ
Elena's Villa is simply stunning. Very spacious and squeaky clean. Aesthetics of the Villa is so very nice. Communication from Elena is TOP !! Check-in Check-out was very flexible. Any important landmark is max. 20 min drive from the Villa, very centrally located. The Villa looks exactly like the photos, kitchen is extremely spacious, also the rooms. The kitchen has all the essential items. We loved our time in Santorini and would recommend our fellow travelers to always choose Elena's place for their stay.

Oias Local Cave Houses
We liked the place very much. Location wise this is one of the best. All the attractive sites are just walkable. The place is very neat and clean. The place had enough space for our team of 6 people and a baby. Most importantly the Sunrise and Sunset can be viewed from just ouside of the main door, which is the USP of this place. However since this is a cave house and the pathway of the entrance is bumpy it is not highly recomended to any physically challenged or elderly people especially who is using wheel chair.

Moonstone Cozy House w/ 2 Bedrooms 1km From Center
Host was very friendly and responded fast, the place was great, very clean and matched all the descriptions

New Earth House -Outdoor Refreshing Whirlpool
Our stay at Moscha’s place was great - Moscha is an amazing host, very helpful, responsive and just a kind person! She arranged transfers to and from the airport for us which made everything so much smoother especially while travelling with a child. Moscha was so kind to specially prepare the jacuzzi for us even though it wasn’t the season for it yet!! The apartment is beautiful, furnished with taste, very comfy bed and you will find everything you need there! The refreshing whirlpool is amazing, not to mention the fact that the apartment is within a walkable distance to the beautiful Kamari beach , shops, restaurants… all in all, I would recommend Moscha’s place to everyone, the place is amazing and she is a super host!!

106. Hideaway Villa with Heated Pool and Sea View
Antonia and their colleagues did a great job to make our vacation memorable. She explained in details about where to go in Santorini and explained greek culture and what to explore

BEAUTIFUL PRIVATE VILLA WITH STUNNISH CALDERA VIEW
The house was very clean and tidy, same as shown in photos. The host was super friendly and nice. Just ask for any local recommendations and she will try her best to help, even calling a bunch of donkey riding places to help us find one that still open on holidays and poor weather! Best hospitality I had experienced in Airbnb👍🏻

Casa Grande cave house with Jacuzzi
Amazing quaint little village. Very walkable with restaurants and shops nearby. Beautiful churches. Nearby coffee shop open 24 hours. Parking wasn't too far away. The apartment was spacious and the hot tub was really enjoyable.

Olia Drop, one bedroom, jacuzzi, amazing view
What an absolutely stunning stay! This location is about a 25 minute walk from downtown Fira and right along the main path to Oia, which made it a great landing spot for everything we wanted to do in our weekend in Santorini (and quieter/more peaceful than staying in a busier area would have been). Great communication from the host including arranging transportation to and from airport, daily cleaning service, local recommendations and tips, and postcard views (+sunrise and sunset!) from the patio every day. We had the best time.

Big place for group 12 - Including Cars Rental !!
Oleksandr was an excellent host and took the time to meet with us upon arrival to review the map, recommended sight seeing locations, restaurants, etc and answered all of our questions. As we arrived on a Holiday, he helped us with available grocery stores and restaurants open during the Easter holiday weekend and helped with arranging visit to the wineries. Tremendous value for families and/or groups of friends.

Cliff Reflections - Deluxe room - Caldera View
Markos's place is a very good choice for a stay in Santorini for a couple of days. We loved the comfortable bed, the panorama window, the quiet surroundings, everything.

Villa Ersa @home by the sea
Beatrice welcomed us right by the house after she had already organized our rental car. During the entire stay, she was extremely nice and helpful also with other good tips. The accommodation is new, very tastefully decorated, well equipped, absolutely quiet, although only 5 minutes by car from the airport and wonderfully located about 100 mt from the beach. The travel time (last week of October) was perfect as pleasant temperatures, only a few tourists left, but most restaurants and cultural events still available. In short: highly recommended!

Mystagoge Retreat with subterranean pool/jacuzzi
This incredibly atypical accommodation allowed us to enjoy this incredible experience with this underground pool and its beautiful decoration. A very nice timeless moment🤩 We were perfectly hosted and the logistical organization is detailed and flawless.👍👍👍 A big thank you 🙏😊
Your guide to Santorini
All About Santorini
Santorini is an 11-mile-long island in the Aegean Sea, southeast of mainland Greece, and is the largest among a group of small, volcanic islands called the Cyclades. Officially known as Thira (Thera, in ancient Greek), Santorini has been inhabited since the Bronze Age. Its 20 or so villages exist atop one of the largest calderas — volcanic craters — in the world; the eruptions throughout its history helped create the dramatic black-sand beaches across its coastline.
Evidence of Santorini’s prehistoric past is on display at the underground Akrotiri archaeological site, where you can see the intricacies of the ancient civilizations who developed multi-floored buildings and drainage systems. The ruins seen today are the result of a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BCE that covered the village in lava and preserved elaborate wall paintings, dwellings, and pottery.
Santorini’s culture is also embodied in its food and drink. Wineries stretch across the countryside, where you can try the island’s native Assyrtiko white wine. Aromas from traditionally prepared coffee fill the cobble-stone streets, brewed with Greece’s specialty briki pot and enjoyed as a social activity. Local dishes prepared with Santorini’s local white eggplant and chlorotyri goat’s-milk cheese make for a dining experience you may not find anywhere else in the world, thanks to the island’s rich volcanic soil and distinct farming.
The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Santorini
You will find accommodations, including Santorini villas and rural retreats, across the island. During Santorini’s comfortable, warm spring months you can make the 6-mile hike from Fira to the village of Oia and ruins of its 15th-century castle while passing blooming wildflowers like lupins and corn poppies along the way. Mild weather in the fall brings the height of the grape harvest, making it an ideal season for trying one of the nearly 20 wineries scattered across the island.
Take advantage of the hot summer months by visiting some of Santorini’s swim-friendly beaches like Perissa or Kamari Beach. The island also hosts the Santorini Jazz Festival in July and the Ifestia (volcano) Festival in August, featuring fireworks and live music shows. During the colder months, you can take a wintertime dip in the thermal hot springs on Santorini’s smaller, uninhabited island, Palea Kameni.
Top things to do in Santorini
Ancient Thera
Some of Greece’s ancient history is on display atop the mountain of Mesa Vouno, accessible by a 4.5-mile hike or a drive to the ancient city of Thera, named for the volcano that famously erupted near it thousands of years ago. Ancient Thera sits at more than 1,000 feet above sea level; once you reach the peak, you will have panoramic views of the Aegean Sea while you stand among ancient ruins, founded in the 9th century B.C.E. and inhabited until 726 A.D.
Vlychada Beach
You can experience one of Santorini’s famous black-sand beaches at Vlychada. This swim-friendly beach on the southern coast is surrounded by towering cliffs. The best time to visit Vlychada Beach is later in the day for a beachside picnic and sunset.
Megalochori
Megalochori is a village on the southwestern coast of Santorini whose white-washed walls and bell towers tower over cobblestone streets as a former defense against pirates. The village is surrounded by Santorini’s wine country, making it a great place to try some of the island’s most-loved wines like the sweet, amber-colored Vinsanto and the crisp white Assyrtiko. Megalochori also hosts classical Greek music concerts throughout the year.
