Start the day with a lazy breakfast on the patio at this hip duplex with an open layout. This peaceful hilltop spot in a restored historic villa boasts a light-filled mezzanine bedroom, exposed ceiling beams, and deep skylights for an airy ambiance. Keeping the original architectural layout of the facade, the interior of Duque's Villa was carefully refurbished to maintain the original wooden floors and window coverings, the high ceilings and the impressive staircase, as well as some furniture elements that tell us little secrets about the past. All suites are designed to enjoy a privileged view of the Tagus River and the spacious garden that surrounds the property. With a comfortable seating area, a kitchenette and a private bathroom, each of the suites features an unique and exclusive interior design, which includes typical details but with a modern Portuguese touch. The result is an elegant, distinctive and certainly royal atmosphere that will make you feel like a Duke. All guests have acces to the property's garden, parking, 1st floor balcony and reception area. Usually you will find someone at our reception on working hours, but besides that we are always available for an emergency. If you need help contact us to our mobile number, we never turn it off. This is a residential area very close to the city center, but removed just enough to guarantee a tranquil, village-like feel. This eastern, industrial part of the city sits between Lisbon’s historic heart and Nations Park, constructed for Expo '98. Within a short walk, you can reach the Nacional Tile Museum or the Fado Museum, and typical quarters like Alfama or Graça. You can also opt for the beautiful bicycle path along the river or public transports which are also nearby. This area is getting one of the trendiest places in town (you will not find many tourists here... yet!), and there are a number of different shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants nearby that are worth knowing - we would be happy to make recommendations and can help you book an appointment or reservation on your behalf. The Apartment The apartment has been recently restored and it is located in Mouraria, a very authentic Lisbon neighborhood in the city center, allowing you to enjoy Lisbon's true spirit. The apartment has one mezzanine (bedroom), one bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen, sharing the space with the living room. - Mezzanine: with a king size bed (160cmx200cm). - Bathroom - with a big shower and equipped with hair-dryer. - Living room: it has a sofa with a LED TV on the opposite wall, great natural light and a french balcony. - Kitchen - fully equipped with a stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and tea kettle. - Other amenities - free Wi-Fi and cable TV. The Neighborhood - The best location to discover Lisbon The best thing about the apartment is its great location: - walking distance of many of Lisbon's finest districts including Baixa, Graça, Alfama, Bairro Alto and the city castle - 5 minutes walk away from metro ('Martim Moniz' station) and tram (number 28E (the 'tourists tram') and 15E (to Belém)) - 10 minutes walk away from the beautiful Rossio train station (to go to Sintra) - 1 minute walk away from two local mini supermarkets and 500 meters away from LIDL How to get here If you are flying to Lisbon, there are two options: - the taxi. It costs approx. 15 euros and it takes approx. 15 minutes (after you spend a while in the queue). - the metro, that you can catch at the airport station (red line). It costs approx. 2 euros per person and it takes approx. 40 minutes to get to your exit station: the 'Martim Moniz' station (green line). If you are coming by train (exiting on 'Oriente' or 'Santa Apolónia' train stations), you can catch the metro and exit at the 'Martim Moniz' station. We really enjoyed the location of this place. It’s super quiet considering the area and it’s well located to get to everything in Lisbon. We appreciated how well equipped the place is and they have lots of considerate extras on offer. The only issue we had was just that it was really warm and without an air conditioning unit it did make it a bit hot at points. The only other things is the bed is a bit of a challenge as it is a loft bed and you need to be fairly nimble to get in and out. That said I wouldn’t discourage anyone from staying and think for the value we paid it’s a great place.

Claudia & Henrique's place was great, an oasis in the central area of Lisbon! Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Bedroom is up a flight of stairs in a loft. Easy to walk to many neighborhoods and attractions. Lots of good restaurants nearby too. Loved the 2 terraces with wonderful views of the city and Tagus River. Close to the Cais do Sodre metro and train station. Great communication and welcome. Highly recommended!

Incredible home and Carlos was a brilliant host. The location is really good, with a cute little view of the ocean when you walk down a bit. Lots of cute cafes and Portuguese restaurants around, easy to get to different areas, close to the airport, also really cool if you’re worried about the lack of AC during summer. Carlos was really really nice which made the experience a whole lot better for us. Would definitely stay here again :)

I stayed at Nuno’s apartment for a year while I went through the D7 visa process. Nuno was an amazing host. He prepared the apartment before my arrival and was waiting for me when my taxi dropped me off. I brought my small dog from the US and we both felt at home throughout our entire stay. It’s literally a three minute walk to the beach. Three minute walk to the train station. Easy walking to restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, and other conveniences. Nuno’s apartment is charming and has all the necessities to be comfortable for long stays. The only two challenges I experienced while living there for a year were the dogs that live behind the apartment building that bark most nights. It isn’t that bad with the windows and doors closed but it’s annoying when they are open. The second issue is how hot and stuffy it gets inside the apartment. Nuno bought a large portable a/c but even with that it is pretty hot during the summer months. Overall I highly recommend staying here! 5 stars!

Great stay in a very central location – easy walking distance to lots of sights, shops, and restaurants. Check-in was smooth and access to the building was easy, with a helpful doorman on site. The area felt very safe throughout our stay. It was a bit tricky to find at first, but that’s more down to not being used to driving in Lisbon. Overall, a really convenient and comfortable base for exploring the city.
