Ricardo’s place is just a block off the town plaza, which was great for participating in the local festival of San Sebastián! It was also really easy to walk up to a different area of the town, where we discovered some cool places including a coffee roasters with parrots in the back!

What an outstanding place! Disregard the mediocre reviews, this place is fantastic. The host was incredibly responsive and attentive. They even let us switch rooms to a have a bigger bed. It was very easy to find and a very easy walk into town (10 mins or less). Parking was a breeze. The rooms were extremely clean. I am so glad we stayed here! There are definitely some farm noise but can easily be fixed by some ear plugs.

Excellent place in the middle of the mountain, for me the 3 most important factors are safety, cleanliness and comfortable bed. The king size bed is definitely very comfortable, the room was very clean and the area is safe, unfortunately there is no way to lock the front door, however the area is safe. In front of the room there is a river that takes you to sleep at night, maybe the kitchen is outdoors, which at least in our case was a plus in addition to the fact that there is a fairly practical barbecue. It's bad that you can easily filter out of noise from the upstairs room.

We loved our stay at the farm! We got to collect eggs, ride horses, and enjoy the beauty of the mountains! Going into town was quick and there was lots to do around the area. Mostly we enjoyed just sitting on the front porch and playing in the front yard, going for walks and bike rides on the road, and having family bonfires. It is quite chilly in the winter in the evening so make sure you dress for it! Javier and family were so kind and welcoming! We’ll be back!

We enjoyed our time at the Balcon Chalita! This is an exceptional place with outstanding views and access to the zocalo area! On top of that, expect to be serenaded not just by the local roosters in early daytime but also by a great variety of native bird species attracted by the nearby forest and ornamental plantings. Shortly after arriving mid-morning, we walked a short distance on cobble roads behind the residence and tallied 40 species in 20 minutes! Birdwatcher’s paradise! The long-experienced birding guide who shared my visit was very surprised and impressed by the local birdlife! The residence was very comfortable and clean. Super hostess promptly and graciously addressed all my questions. In sum, it was a great pleasure lodging at Balcon Chalita. I’d do it again in a heartbeat given its unique location, quality accommodation, affordability!
