Lake house vacation rentals in Sam Rayburn Reservoir

The place was beautiful and we loved the view of the lake. It gets really dark around 7 pm so it was a bit hard to find the house and the entrance but otherwise great location. Lots of ample backyard space for kids to play in, swing by the lake, outside fireplace to enjoy the night by the fire.

This place was the perfect spot for our trip. It was very peaceful and private yet close enough to some wonderful restaurants.

I cannot say enough great things about "Shore Thing" and it's host Amy! From start to finish, Amy was an amazingly responsive and gracious host! She made sure we had everything we needed to make our vacation an incredible experience. Coming from someone who is in the "people business", I can always tell when someone takes pride in what they do. Amy is DEFINITELY one of those people! Everything in this place was clean, in order, and well-maintained. From the modern updated bathroom and kitchen appliances to the multitude of other amenities, "Shore Thing" is the best place we've ever stayed on Toledo Bend Lake! I HIGHLY recommend this property and especially it's host. Thank you again Amy and "Shore Thing" for making our vacation spectacular!

My family had a fantastic stay at Paradise on the lake. The home is beautiful and was very clean and very well taken care of. The kitchen was stocked with any and everything you could need. The beds were so comfortable. The bathrooms were well stocked with toiletries and towels and the AC works GREAT—which is a must in Southern Texas. Clint was very quick to reply. The home had a ton of indoor and outdoor games for adults and children. The view….breathtaking. We will most definitely be back.

The place was perfect for our group. Donna the owner was proactive in making sure we had a good check-in and had everything we need. The view was absolutely beautiful of the lake. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was updated and appliances were new. The property had so much room outside and we enjoyed our time around the fire pit. We will be booking this property again when we come next year!!

We had a wonderful time at this place. I am originally from Zavalla and being at this home reminded me of my childhood. The lake was so peaceful. The stars so bright at night and so quiet. We were even able to see a couple eagles hanging out by the lake. The house was so beautiful and relaxing. Definitely will be staying here in the future when visiting family.

This place is amazing. The home its self is so cozy, and the master bed was so comfortable. The location is breathtaking. The water was very low and we were given a heads up before. But we didn’t let it stop us. Fishing was great. We enjoy a family of bald eagles each day and even got greeted every morning by the friendly neighborhood dogs. This place is just what we needed. Already looking to book for 3 more times next year!!! The pool was soo clear even though it was to cold to swim.

The interior of this beautiful home was amazing. A lot of the historical charm was preserved along with newer updates to the kitchen and upstairs. The home is within walking distance to the downtown square. San Augustine is a charming little town. Bob and Cathy were very quick to respond to any questions I may have had during my stay. Also the courtyard was a good size and fully fenced in to allow my pups to roam freely and explore. I would stay here again if I’m ever traveling through SA in the future.

We had a nice weekend get away. We have two children under 6 and they had a great time!

Sherrie was a great host, her home had plenty of room and was very comfortable. It was also very nice that there was a circle driveway to park my boat. I will definitely stay next time we are in the area.

My family and I just got home from our trip to Sam Rayburn where we had a great time. Abbie's place was awesome and we started fishing before we even unpacked the car. The house was perfect for the 4 of us but could easily fit 4 more. We had brought our 2 dogs and were able to easily keep them penned up with a baby gate. Although the wifi is a bit slow, we were able to watch shows on our prime account easily. overall great stay, and plenty of fishing fun.

This was our second stay here and it was perfect. Karen is a great host and makes everything so easy. Hope to be back next year !!

Lovely stay! Our family of eight adults spent four days at this property during New Year's 2025. We always gather to wrap up the holidays and spend quality time together before kicking off a busy new year. This was our second stay with Mr. Chester. His property has met and exceeded our needs each time. And, he is hospitable and easy to work with as a host. This house is up-to-date and has all the amenities of home. This property provides use of televisions, wi-fi, a kitchen with dishwasher and cooking utensils, and outside cooking gear including a grill and fryer, as well as a washer and dryer. We really couldn't have asked for more. The location is perfect for our needs. It is a beautiful house on a quiet cul-de-sac with access to Toledo Bend right on the property. I couldn't imagine anything more appealing to an avid fisherperson. Great accommodations with a nice atmosphere!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Fishing trip with friends. Lake access was decent and everyone had a great time! Plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably and hang out playing pool when not on the lake. Our host was very accommodating and I recommend this camp to anyone looking for a nice place to stay and enjoy the lake.

3rd to stay for nearby family party, it has become a tradition.

This was a very spacious and beautifully kept property . I have traveled many times to this area and this spot was by far our favorite. We will stay again !

Would definitely recommend staying here. Our family, 4 adults and 6 kids, felt right at home, had everything we needed and more, and Brandon was always responsive, kind, and generous. This was, by far, the fanciest boat house and dock I’ve ever experienced, it was a real treat to stay here! Thanks for a great vacation!
