Footbridge Farm is a quiet country get-away located on 90 wooded acres, 15 miles NE of Decorah. We are close to the mouth of Canoe Creek, the Upper Iowa River and adjacent to state DNR land. The cozy owner-built cabin has an open ceiling with exposed beams and rafters giving a sense of spaciousness. Local stone was used in the exterior walls and the floor-to-ceiling fire back behind the wood-burning stove. The floors are oak and slate. Detailed craftsmanship can be found throughout the cabin.

This cottage features a full kitchen, 3 queen beds, pull out couch, flat screen Roku tv's, breakfast nook, outdoor seating, and a large indoor gas fireplace. You will be within walking distance to historic Elkader, and a half hour drive away from the Mississippi River, Effigy Mounds, Pikes Peak and so much more! After a fun day in The Driftless Area, come relax and unwind in Prairie du Chien. Beautifully decorated 2 bedroom home with a spacious kitchen, large island, dishwasher, washer/dryer & 5' walk in shower. We supply all cooking/baking items/utensils. High-speed internet with smart TVs in both bedrooms and living room. Outdoor pool (seasonal), hot tub and massage chair. We love dogs too, so we provide a dog run (there is a pet fee). For our fishermen- there is off street parking for your boats.

Tranquility & Vistas on the Farm in the Guest Barn

When you arrive at our 16 acre farmstead and enter the Guest Barn, you'll notice the construction materials which were salvaged from a nearby barn and corncrib. The timbers from these buildings were torn down, moved to our farm and rebuilt into a smaller “new” barn. It truly represents a real farm experience you can feel. While here, you'll slow down and enjoy the tranquility. Walk around the farm, make friends with a cow, watch barn kitties play, while gazing across the vast farm vistas.

The Bridge View Studio

Perfect getaway and a perfect location to get to know Elkader with it’s coffee shops, antique mall, shops, opera house and beautiful Turkey River. Property was homesteaded in 1841 and sits directly across from the courthouse and looks over the famous Keystone Bridge and downtown. Come stay awhile. ***NOTE: Because we are located across from the court house the clock tower bells can be heard from our location. Main part of the house is our residence, Airb&b has separate entrance on the side.
