Great, off the beaten path location. Tranquil. We saw a sea turtle right off the porch every morning. Other wildlife in the yard as well, including monkeys. No AC or heat, we very comfortable with fans and ocean breeze. Plan on cooking at least some. Roadside stands are a much better price than the grocery store for fresh fruit and veggies. The fish dock is a couple minute walk away.

Our stay was phenomenal! To wake up and hear the bird chirping and surrounded by all that wonderful green trees was so amazing

Gavin was a great host! I felt right at home. He was so helpful with helping me find my way around places I needed to go and also very friendly.

Where do I start! I had an amazing time here, with memories to last a lifetime. Engrid and the family were the perfect hosts and made me feel like part of the family. The location and accommodation was perfect and just what I need during my 3 week stay. Engrid went above & beyond expectations and the warm welcome I received was amazing. Engrid arranged a taxi from and to the airport and even arranged a car for my 3 week stay that was all reasonably priced The Lodge was clean and had everything I needed with a beautiful terrace where I would eat my meals every evening. Very private accommodation but Engrid & family members are at hand if needed. If you are looking for a peaceful country side retreat that is no more than 30 mins away from most attractions & parishes, then this is the place. I can’t wait to go back and stay here again and enjoy the peaceful views & sounds of nature once again. Thank you Engrid!

Would recommend to anyone visiting Barbados. Lovely stay here, beautiful and peaceful setting, we even saw monkeys from our balcony. Kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool. Loxy gave great local tips and let us use her deck chairs and snorkels. The apartment is close to Speightstown which was one of our favourite places on the island (very relaxed, beautiful beaches, a few restaurants/bars and a supermarket). Tip: would recommend a Suzuki Jimny or equivalent for driving, roads in Barbados have lots of pot holes.

We had a restful writers retreat in Loxy's farm house hideaway, alternating between the spacious private porch and poolside by the old windmill. We were surrounded by history, and felt a deep sense of peace just listening to the sugarcane rustle and the frogs chirp, watching the fireflies and marlins swooping to drink from the pool. We spotted monkeys and parakeets, and befriended Ducky and the cats. This downstairs two bedroom unit has a well outfitted kitchen, great wifi, and was cool at night without resorting to the aircon. The road up is fine for all vehicles and you're only ten minutes from anything you'd need in Speightstown. Loxy is a great host with an inspiring vision for this unique place. I hope we'll be back!

Absolutely loved our stay! While the house itself was simple, the location more than made up for it—perched right on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the views were absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the sound of the waves, cows grazing nearby, and the occasional monkey passing through was an experience I’ll never forget. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel at home right away. If you're looking for a peaceful escape in a truly spectacular setting, this is the place!

We HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone considering a visit to Barbados to book here. Gregory gave us clear instructions was a great communicator. A very short walk through the gate in the backyard and you are on pristine Carlisle Bay. There were beach chairs & an umbrella reserved each day for our use. We are confident swimmers and each day we snorkeled out to the 2 closest shipwrecks and swam with fish, turtles & stingrays. No need to pay the $$ local tours we’re charging. Nolan is the “beach guy” and he has masks, snorkels, fins, vests, flotation devices etc if needed. Gregory has lived in Barbados for many years and sent us useful links to many restaurants as well as trusted taxi drivers. At sunset we could have a chat & drink with Gregory in the gazebo which is perfectly positioned. The property also had a fire stick with channels from all over the world easily accessible.

Great space in an absolutely quiet location. Here you can escape everyday life with a great view.

My husband and I absolutely loved the peace and serenity that came with Loxy's place. A great place to reconnect with each other and find inner peace.

First of all, Dwayne is the most absolutely positively amazing host ever. Check it was easy, rooms were clean and he even drove us around a little to show us Barbados. During my stay, I ended up losing my wallet which contained my debit card, passport card, money, and Airbnb keys ( no I wasn’t drunk either). Nonetheless, I couldn’t get back into the hotel room. Dwayne was gracious enough to wake up before the sun up to let me and and he was very understanding about the lost keys. When it came time for check out, I carelessly left some valuables in the room rushing to get to my shuttle bus. Not only did Dwayne find my iPad, but he also gave it to a friend that was staying near by. This guy is an amazing super host and his apartments are located in the center of all of the attractions in Dover. Additionally, this wonderful host does offer to drive guests to their location if needed. This was my first time in Barbados and despite the mishaps, Dwayne was a shinning light of positivity. I am definitely coming back to Barbados soon and when I do I’m staying with Dwayne. Thank you so much for everything. You are a great host and even wonderful human being
