  • What a great spot. Our family of 3 stayed for 9 days, and couldn’t have been more comfortable. Cookware, cutlery, whatever you might need to cook at home was there. Nice big fridge and freezer, hot showers with good pressure, fresh towels, great bedding. BTW the bed is super comfortable, as is the couch. We were plenty warm, slept and ate well, and enjoyed the beautiful and peaceful spot. Amy watched out for us with the winter weather, and plowed whenever needed so we could get out easily. You won’t regret staying here :) Great experience.

  • Peaceful and quiet, clean house, stocked kitchen, comfy bed, beautiful woods, kind host, couldn’t have had a more of perfect getaway!

    Corey2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place. Absolutely beautiful surroundings nestled in the Vermont mountains.

  • Amy’s home was a perfect weekend getaway in Vermont. It had everything you need and allowed for a more off the grid experience, which was exactly what we were looking for! Amy even came by on the morning of our last day to say we could stay a little longer than checkout. Very kind of her! I would definitely recommend it to couples or a small group of friends who want to disconnect for a weekend and enjoy the surroundings. Certainly hope to stay there again!

  • Amy was an incredible host. Leading up to my trip she offered to stock up the fridge and told me about restaurants that people tend to like when they visit. I also saw a ton of moose which was really cool cause I’ve never seen one before.

  • We stayed one night in Amy's cozy house in the beautiful hills of Vermont. The house itself is very well equipped -- including a fully-furnished kitchen -- and Amy is kind enough to put some food in the fridge beforehand for our breakfast! The living room is spacious, yet cozy, and very comfortable. Our one issue was that Amy doesn't check her messages in the afternoon or evenings (which, to be fair, she does warn about). Nothing serious happened, but we had a minor issue and tried to contact her when we arrived at around 4pm but we got no response until the next morning, which was too late. However, she was very kind in her response and felt very bad about what had happened (which again was not very serious). Apart from this, we loved our stay and hope to make it back some day!

  • It was such a great peaceful stay. The cottage was super warm and homey. Norwich and Hanover are only a short drive away. Highly recommend the Tavern in Lyme. Amy went above and beyond to ensure to stock the kitchen perfectly. Amy and her dog Goose were very welcoming. It is the perfect place to stay when visiting Vermont and New Hampshire.

Breathtaking views, mountain fresh air, and tranquility in the highland town of Vershire, VT; the Fortress looks out over the White Mountains to the East during the day and the Milky Way above at night. The property spans 6 acres that are available to all guests looking for a bit of snow-shoeing or a walk in the woods. Designed and built by local architect, Nick Fabrikant, it offers splendid open floor plans and incredible natural lighting through the many South-facing windows.
Accommodations include a full-size bed for two, a small kitchen that's perfect for making morning pancakes with fresh local maple syrup, and several comfy chairs from which to watch the rising and setting of the sun in your personal mountain hideout. While there is an air mattress available for additional guests by special request, we like to recommend the space for two guests at a time because of the open floor plans.
  • The fortress is simply breath taking. I came here to disconnect from the busy city, and disconnect I did. The architecture is stunning and views--even more so. The photos don't do justice. I hope to come back again soon!

  • Quiet, secluded, and great views.

    Steve2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing experience!!!

    Alexander2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay. Bring a Bluetooth speaker and food to enjoy. The gas stove is sensitive but works great. Windows are finicky so I’d suggest just leaving them closed. Definitely bring a 4wd. Not so much for the driveway but the 10 miles of dirt road to get there. Enjoy your stay!

  • Sounds of silence! Horse neighbors. Beauty!

    Katelyn2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous home and property with an impressive view. At night we got lucky and had a clear sky so we were able to see tons of stars all across the sky. The following morning we woke up and saw an incredible sunrise. The house is very comfortable and relaxing to be in. Highly recommend this as a place to disconnect, meditate, & talk with whoever you are with without any disruption. I hope to come back in the future.

    Daniel2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The fortress was truly a sight to behold. The design and craftsmanship of the building was elegant, simple, but also sophisticated on the inside especially. Also the wood stove in the bedroom was amazing for the cold winter night! It set the mood just right. But most of all, the location in the mountains made for a peaceful stay, along with getting away from electronics considering that there is no service at the fortress. All in all, I was very pleased with my stay there and I hope that I can revisit sometime in the near future!

    Liam2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Leave your phone in the car and bring a puzzle (there’s also one provided), just don’t be surprised by the occasional gunshots from far-off neighbors. We really enjoyed our time at the fortress! Would love to live here if I could.

  • Cozy place with a homey feel for a hostel. Lots of space, too. Lovely historic feel to the place.

    Deb2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is full of wonderful memories from my days volunteering at the local summer camp years ago, and it still just feels like home. Vershire is a little town with lots of hidden secrets and magic and really friendly, creative and caring people. Shirley was so welcoming and offered to keep me updated on local events so I can come back and introduce my friends to Vershire too!

    Jason2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great kitchen downstairs, library, books upstairs, 4 bedrooms, living room upstairs. Old fashion, 1800s building. Had fun, finally met Shirley, and I’ve donated things to the hostel.

  • My wife and I had a fantastic stay at the cabin. I especially enjoyed cooking in the beautiful kitchen, chopping wood and building fires and going for walks in the forest. Brooke was a great host and very hospitable. I highly recommended staying here!

    Richard2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We thank Brooke for her wonderful welcome. Brooke answered our questions very well and within a reasonable time. Plan to do the grocery shopping before, as the amenities are rather far away. The accommodation is very beautiful and the kitchen is very complete. We keep a very good memory, thank you again!

    Karolane2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Brooke’s cabin was amazing! So amazing that I wanted to extend my reservation, but unfortunately it was booked. Very well cleaned and updated with nice appliances. Definitely check out that tub in the bathroom, it’s to die for!

    Amanda2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Brooke's cabin is simply fabulous. It is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with wonderful amenities. Brooke was always quick with communications and thought of every question we might have before even asking it! Local suggestions were another nice touch. We had a great time! Don't hesitate to book this cabin!

    Fairlee, VT, United States

A quiet location in the country, we’re located 25 minutes from Hanover NH, Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, as well as Vermont Law School and many summer camps such as the Aloha Camps, Camps Farnsworth, Billings and Lochearn. Located right around the corner is the Pema Osel Do-ngak Choling Buddhist retreat. There are two local hiking trails: The Cross-Rivendell and Appalachian Trails; two large lakes: Lake Fairlee and Lake Morey.
This house was the original one-room schoolhouse converted into a residence.
This neighborhood is very rural. One would want to appreciate being away from it all.
  • Stayed for 1 night at Richards. I had a lovely stay in an amazing tranquil setting. Lovely comfortable bed and pillows, always nice. Fully recommend for anyone wanting a quiet retreat, and peace and quiet.

  • I highly recommend staying at Jennifer’s place! My boyfriend and I had such a relaxing time there. The hot tub was amazing. The area was so quiet and peaceful. Jennifer was very prompt and helpful in her replies. The kitchen is fully stocked with full appliances, dish ware, etc. so it was perfect for cooking in. The house is so unique and so spacious. Perfect for couples or for larger groups. I am definitely planning on returning with friends!

    Gabryjela2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the space! It was perfect for a getaway in the woods with the convenience of some necessities close by.

    Kathryn2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • You’re in the wilderness! It’s very off the grid and a great place for some true relaxation. The backyard is perfect for your dog to stretch their legs! The house boast lovely rustic decor with beautiful windows that face the mountains. The house had everything you need for cooking (including spices!) and had a great oven/stove top. I truly can’t speak enough on how wonderful our stay was.

    Delaney2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a wonderful relaxing time in an amazingly beautiful home. Jen has everything thought out thoroughly for your stay. Very clean and easy to communicate with. I'd recommend this place to anyone that wanted to just escape and relax. First vacation I ever took that actually felt like a vacation

    Joshua2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer’s cabin in the woods was outstanding! It’s a perfect getaway that is close enough but also far enough! The space was impeccably clean and Jennifer provides plenty of cooking supplies (including some basic pantry items and spices), board games, books, DVDs and a sound system! The hot tub was clean and pure bliss after some local snowshoeing day trips. (Snowshoes provided by Jennifer). The couch was insanely comfortable and the perfect spot for reading and looking out the giant windows at a gorgeous view! The internet worked well, plenty of hot water for showers, comfortable beds... honestly, this place has everything you could want or need for your getaway! We would highly recommend staying at this gem in the woods and would be delighted to return!

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The bow house was amazing. it had charm and lots of little details to make your stay perfect. host were super friendly and easy to communicate with. cant wait to return

    Gina2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay here at this beautiful little (but big) cabin. So peaceful and quiet. If you’re looking to get out and relax in the woods this property has great little trails that surround the property for peaceful nature walks. You may not have cell service but to have high speed internet in the middle of nowhere is a pleasant surprise and most welcome. There’s a even a hot tub that my girlfriend always looks forward to. We will be back for a third time sometime this summer and fall.

    Eric2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely LOVED the Bow House. I cannot believe we got the entire place to ourselves for the price we paid, we were blown away. They also included so many additional amenities, we basically only had to bring food and clothes. The house is beautiful, the views are great, and the hot tub was marvelous. We basically were just pretending we lived there for a night, what a dream! Thank you so much for sharing your great space with us. We hope to be back!

Just 10 miles off the Interstate, but you'll feel like you're way back in the country. Enjoy long view eastward across the Connecticut River Valley to New Hampshire mountains.
Dawnside is a hillside home on a dirt road, tucked into the woods with a view of local hills and distant mountains and plenty of space to unwind. Built over many years, it started out as an 800 sf, off-the-grid home. Today the now 1,700 sf house has electricity and WiFi, and can easily accommodate four or five, although it's cozy for one or two as well. There's a queen bed in the large (16x20) cathedral-ceilinged master bedroom, a full bed in one small (10x10) bedroom, and a twin bed in another small (10x10) bedroom. With its central location between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire, you can use Dawnside as a base camp for day trips to go hiking, kayaking, fishing, and exploring the area. Or stay right here and take a walk on the property's woods roads and listen to the wind in the trees. Relax on the deck and watch the sunrise with your tea or coffee, or enjoy your favorite evening drink as you watch the colors shift and change on the mountains and valleys as the sun sets behind you. Lie on your back at night and enjoy the bright stars - there's virtually no light pollution up here on the hill. Light a campfire, toast marshmallows, make s'mores, and watch the fireflies. Rainy day? Curl up with a book in the cozy library nook. The TV, along with a selection of DVD's, is temporarily located in the nook as the living room is being renovate d. There's no cable service but there is WiFi so you can hook up a laptop or Fire Stick and stream video. The kitchen is small but well equipped: refrigerator with ice maker, 5-burner electric range, microwave, dishwasher, and large single-bowl sink. Small appliances include coffee maker, coffee grinder, electric kettle, blender, hand mixer, and 4-slice toaster, and there's a French press as well. There are plenty of plates, silverware, glasses, pots, pans, utensils, and cookbooks. Plastic children's plates, bowls, cups, and silverware are also provided. A selection of coffees, teas, condiments, and spices are provided. A gas grill is located on the back deck for outdoor cooking. There is a full bathroom with tub/shower upstairs. A small 3/4 bathroom (shower, toilet, sink), with a 30" door, is off the laundry room. The laundry room has a front loading washer and dryer and fragrance-free laundry detergent is provided. A 50 gallon water heater provides plenty of hot water. Cell service is spotty at best and seems to change with the wind, weather, and number of birds flying overhead. Verizon works better than other carriers, although you may need to stand in the parking area to catch a signal. There is a landline for your use.
The house is located 1.25 miles (2.0 km) "off the blacktop," halfway up a 1/2 mile (0.8 km) long, quiet dead-end road. There are neighbors but they can't be seen from the house. Sometimes it is so quiet here that you can hear kids playing on the next ridge over... 1/4 mile (0.4 km) away. Quiet country back roads are great for walking, running, and bicycling on. The last 1/4 mile on your way back is a bit steep. Northeast Slopes, where you can ski "the way it used to be," is less than 10 minutes away. It's totally volunteer-run, nature-dependent for snow, and features up to 12 trails, 360' of vertical height, 2 rope tows, and a T-bar - all for a $15 day pass. There's no night skiing but there is reasonably priced food at the snack bar. You can snowboard, too. Bring your own skis and/or boards. If you're going to use the tows bring leather work gloves (or buy them at the snack bar). Burke Mountain and the Dartmouth Skiway are about an hour away. There are two general stores within 10 minutes. The Roots School, which teaches traditional skills, is just 6 miles/12 minutes away. The Mountain School in Vershire is 13 miles/25 minutes. The town of Bradford, with several restaurants, a Kinney Drugs pharmacy, a large Hannaford's supermarket, the awesome Farmway feed/clothing/shoes & boots/furniture store, the Red Kite Candy kitchen and store, and the Bear Ridge dirt race track, is 20 minutes away. The city of Barre ("Bear-ee"), home to famous granite quarries you can visit, is half an hour out. Vermont's capital, Montpelier, is 45 minutes away, as is the up-and-coming White River Jct, Vermont and the home of Dartmouth College: Hanover, New Hampshire. Waterbury, VT, home of Ben & Jerry's, is an hour away and Burlington, VT is an hour and 15 minute drive. A drive-in movie theater is about twenty minutes away. Camp chairs and outdoor blankets are provided so you can grab them and go watch a movie under the stars. In mid-September the Tunbridge World's Fair is just 35 minutes away. Several area artisans participate in May and October Open Studio Weekends and invite you to meet them and see their work. White Mountains attractions, including Lost River Gorge and Polar Caves, are about an hour away. The house is located midway between the Appalachian Trail and Vermont's Long Trail with access to each taking an hour or less, and there are several hiking trails in the area including the 3.5 mile Wright's Mountain Trail just 15 minutes away. Fishing, boating, and swimming are available at many places within a half hour or so radius and Vermont Fish & Game offers free boat launch access at many locations (Note: some lakes and ponds do not allow motorboats). Sporting licenses are available at the East Corinth General Store or online.
  • Eric’s home was everything we hoped for and more. The house was very clean. Eric labeled everything in the house and left notes and instructions through out the house. The home is set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The house was very homely and relaxing. Eric made sure we had everything we needed from the moment we arrived. Communication was great from start to finish, our two dogs loved it there too, so much land to run around. We will definitely visit again soon.

  • This was my second time staying here and I think we will continue to do it every year going forward! Erich is a great host, with an immaculate home. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone.

  • What a wonderful and restful place to spend a weekend. We were delighted by all the thoughtful touches throughout Dawnside—and my husband let me sleep through one of the most beautiful sunrises they’ve ever seen!

    Meghan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Winter at Erich's place is the epitome of hygge (google it). The house itself is tremendously well thought out - we marveled at all the details that went into building such a wonderful place all weekend, and I'm sure we could have kept marveling for weeks longer. I could list all the great things about this place (the beautiful surroundings, the quiet neighborhood, the comfortable furniture, all the little household items available to you, etc.) but to short cut to the point - you definitely won't be disappointed staying here. We will definitely be going out of our way to stay here again.

  • Sparkling clean and such a unique spot! This is absolutely a hidden gem, and if you go in winter or early spring, make sure you have AWD or arrange for the hosts to pick you up in town as the remote location can be tricky to get to. We had a lovely time and Coley was super helpful with everything! Would absolutely go back again :)

    Katelyn2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Place is AWESOME! I will say the photos make the cottage seem like it’s seclude but it is quite close to the main home. HOWEVER! Once in side it was a very private and romantic stay! Great host clean and comfortable stay..they BED is to die for, was very hard to make the 11 o’clock check out laying in the bed!

    Sean2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Coley and Eric’s is a perfect spot to stay. The little house is very clean and has everything you could need (games, pots and pans, shampoo). I would stay here again anytime!

    Emma2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Coley and Eric are incredible hosts and the cottage is the perfect get away. There is much to explore within a short drive (even in the winter!) and they have plenty of great tips on where to go. Would absolutely book again (and plan on it 😊)!

    Chloe2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I came to celebrate our anniversary. We were not disappointed! The cottage was so cute and cozy and just the right size for the two of us. Coley and Eric were always in touch via the airbnb app and were more than happy to get the hot tub started for us and to schedule the freshly baked bread for when we were at the cottage. It was delicious! The cottage was a quick 30 min drive from Woodstock where we went three times! It was about an hour away from Plymouth where we went snowmobiling. And an hour and a half away from both Burlington and the Ice Castles in New Hampshire. It was a great location, as it was pretty central to everything we wanted to do during our trip, but it was just far enough off the beaten path :) Coley and Eric always had the driveway plowed for us, as there was a lot of snow! We are hoping to be able to come back in the summer to visit the sheep and see the fruit bushes they are planting. Highly recommend!!

    Kelsey2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little place for a nice getaway in the woods. Cozy and comfy!!

    Christopher2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I was at Coley’s place to spend a few days skiing with my grandson. It was a wonderful, relaxing stay: the house is beautiful and well equipped. I love this place because it is quiet, zen, in the middle of nature and at the same time so comfortable. I will be back!

  • What a beautiful place to relax! The cabin is surrounded by trees--we had beautiful fall colors we woke up to every day! We enjoyed exploring the area's walking trails, sipping coffee and lounging on the comfy couches, and we even visited a few breweries in the area. The cozy cabin was a wonderful place to come home to after adventuring during the day. Michelle and Zeb have also stocked the cabin with many amenities for a very comfortable stay. We will be back!

    Mary2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

    Emmy2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's cabin was exactly as described and shown. It was a perfect get away spot to just totally relax! The space was perfect for myself, my husband and dog. Our dog was scared to go into the house when we got there-in fact, she almost slept outside because she wouldn't go in, but by the time we went to leave, she didn't want to get into the car! The property is beautiful and we had brought camping chairs, so our favorite activity was sitting in the shade by the pond and reading. The weather was so nice that we never even sat inside! We even ate all our meals outside. We spent one day in Burlington and another day in Waterbury. We also "hiked" up the hill twice every day with the dog. It was great because she could go off leash. You certainly don't need a gym membership if you live there! We did see some deer by the pond a couple days as well as some other critters. It was just a fabulous spot to go to unplug and unwind and just sit and relax. Thanks for letting us enjoy your beautiful spot and we would love to be able to enjoy another summer vacation there next year!

    Lori2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Third time being here, that should tell you how great of a place this cabin is. Secluded area with nothing but nature and beautiful stars at night. Please refer to the first review of the cabin for more in depth. But overall, fantastic place as always and free wine upon arrival. Don't hesitate to book this place!

Cozy converted artists’ studio, tucked in the hills at the end of a country road. Open the French door to views of a sprawling garden and rolling fields, alight with fireflies in the spring and bursting with color in the fall. Warm yourself by the wood burning stove after winter fun or unwind with a local microbrew by the fire pit, listening to the Whippoorwills on a summer evening. Beautiful in all seasons, this modern, comfy cottage is the perfect place to get away from it all.
This spacious studio has a new, Tuft & Needle (OEKO-TEX, GreenGuard Gold, and CertiPUR-US certified) queen-sized bed, living area with wood burning stove, kitchen and dining area (table seats four), and separate bathroom with a shower stall. (Complimentary toxin-free soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided.) The couch pulls out to a full-sized bed. The space is best-suited for two people, but could sleep three comfortably. Please note, we do not provide a television, although streaming services can be accessed via WiFi if you bring your own device. The kitchen is well-stocked with a two-burner cooktop (but no oven), small fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, tea kettle, pots and pans, plates, bowls, glassware, silverware, and cooking utensils. Organic, fair-trade coffee, tea, and half-in half are ready for your use. We use only non-toxic cleaning products. You'll have lots of privacy as the studio is a good distance (~30 yards) from the main house, which is blocked from view by a row of lilac bushes. There are high ceilings and lots of windows with views of the garden and the valley. Walk out your door to the lovely garden and enjoy the hammock in our stand of mature apple trees. Our country road is great for short walks (past stone walls and pastures), and there are beautiful wooded trails for walking or snow-shoeing just a quarter-mile down the road. We recommend four-wheel drive vehicles for anyone visiting in winter: you must take several dirt roads and navigate a driveway that is steep and long to get to the cottage. We take reservations during the dreaded mud season (as the ground thaws and the dirt roads get rutty in late March and April), but suggest four-wheel drive (again) and an adventurous spirit. For more photos, look for us on Instagram @tunbridgecottage.
We are five minutes from the village of Tunbridge, VT, home of the country's oldest World's Fair (!) and a general store that sells delicious maple creamees. South Royalton (and the Vermont Law School) is a 10-minute drive and offers the best swimming holes along the White River, a wonderful co-op for groceries, organic, farm-fresh produce, Vermont cheeses, beer and wine (including local craft brews); yummy pastries and specialty, house-roasted coffee at First Branch Coffee; and the beloved Worthy Burger restaurant and bar. The charming village of Woodstock is 35 minutes away and Quechee, with its gorge, Simon Pearce, and antique mall is 30 minutes. Easy access to I-89 is about 15 minutes away. Other attractions: - Tastings and live music at Brocklebank Craft Brewing (20 minutes) - Strafford Nordic Center (20 minutes) - Woodstock, VT: quaint, walkable village with shops, restaurants, Billings Farm, Mount Tom, Nordic Center, and more (35 minutes) - Simon Pearce Flagship Shop and Restaurant (30 minutes) - Baking classes at King Arthur Flour (40 minutes) - Dartmouth College and Hanover, NH (40 minutes) - Skiing/Snowboarding at Suicide Six (35 minutes), Killington/Pico (1 hour), or Sugarbush (1 hr 15 mins) - Mountain biking trails - Long Trail / Appalachian Trail - Vermont Cheese Trail - Vermont Brewery Tour
  • Was a blast, great area

    Gabriel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful - cozy, remote, and clean. We truly felt like we were escaping the city, and felt right at home. Kate and Sean were super responsive to our questions, and recommended some great snowshoeing trails right near their property. They provided great suggestions for things to do and places to eat - go to The Worthy Burger! I would come back in a heartbeat - it was such a lovely experience.

    Rachel2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot for a cozy weekend getaway to unplug! Great little space, just enough for what you need. Lots of books and plenty of natural light. I absolutely recommend this spot!

    Courtney2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our little Vermont getaway and stay at Kate's place! Cottage was cozy, yet modern and had lovely eco-friendly touches! Beautiful with the snow covering all the trees and surrounding forest, felt very peaceful. Kate was a great host and provided us with plenty of recommendations for places to eat and things to do. Definitely would book again next time we visit Vermont!

    Lauren2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our weekend at Kate and Sean's cottage. It was totally clean and outfitted well, very comfortable and quiet, lots of interesting books. Sadly, there was not much snow for snowshoeing but the dirt roads and fields were great for walking and the wood stove made it cozy. Beautiful, quiet area - fields, woods, a few cows - and S Royalton is nearby with some good food and a market. Kate and Sean were responsive and helpful and we hope to be back!

    Brad2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's place is a wonderful escape, and still close enough to so many quintessential Vermont activities. It is obvious that Kate takes pride in her cottage, and we thoroughly enjoyed staying. The only regret is we couldn't stay longer!

    Nicholas2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was the coziest escape from the real world. We came to celebrate our anniversary and it was everything we could have asked for and more!

A 6 min. walk to Lake Fairlee, 23 mins. to Dartmouth or Dartmouth Ski-way, our Airbnb includes a 1000 square ft room in a lovely garden setting. This separate house built onto ours has a private entrance and offers hardwood floors, radiant heat in winter, large windows, a private kitchen, private bath, garden views and 2 spacious semi-private sleeping areas - one queen bed, one single bed, plus 2 queen futons in shared spaces. We are cleaning re CDC & Airbnb guidelines to keep everyone safe.
Our place was designed for music gatherings and over night guests with social ambiance in mind. But the large room also serves as a quiet environment for just one or two people to relax, read, meditate, watch movies or work. There are stairs leading up to the loft with three alcoves for sleeping areas. We provide folding Chinese screens for additional privacy. Each alcove has a window view. We are only minutes away from Dartmouth and the many cultural gems and natural beauties in the area. We welcome people from all backgrounds.
We live on a small residential street in the village of Post Mills one of five tiny villages in the rural town of Thetford, in Central Eastern VT. Post Mills is populated by full time residents and also has a vibrant summer community. The four camps around our 450 acre lake have been in operation since 1906 leaving much of the shoreline still wooded. Scenic bike rides, rivers and hiking trails on public lands are minutes away. We recommend the Post Mills Airport for balloon rides and our town beach, Treasure Island, if you're looking for a community atmosphere on the lake. From June to mid-October treat yourself to the produce and organic cheeses at Cross Road Farm located 1/3 of a mile from our place. You'll find art galleries, theater, summer concerts, delightful restaurants, shopping, church suppers, antiquing and more beautiful natural settings within easy reach of our village.! Ask us!
  • If you want to stay in an inspiring space, built by a luthier and Yoga teacher than check this place out, walking distance to a lake, etc etc our first Airbnb stay. Exceeded our expectations.

  • We had such a great, relaxing getaway here. The pictures really don't do the space justice, we were blown away by how wide open yet cozy the entire place was. The ping pong table, puzzles, and record player were excellent touches that were a part of our routine every day but really there's so much to do here for anyone looking for a quiet retreat from the world, those are just a few examples. Or, if you want to go out and about, Pippa and George provide a whole binder full of curated local experiences they recommend! Very thoughtful. We miss our time here already!

  • *5 Stars* Jade and Joe were the perfect hosts! Beautifully restored historical country home located on a huge piece of farm land, where there was so much to do. Downtown Bradford was a stone-throw away and full of places to eat and shop. Also a great scenic drive to Loon Mountain. What I loved most were the scenic views of the fields and woods from all sides of the house, including a fantastic view of Mt. Washington from the back porch. I also had the pleasure of meeting Joe and his family's awesome dog Max; Joe's an absolute genuine guy who not only made us feel at home, but did not hesitate to offer his assistance with anything to make stay more enjoyable. My family was sad to leave after only a couple of days, which is why we definitely plan on booking here again for a longer stay. Thank you again Jade and Joe, your home is an absolute Gem! P.S. - My dog had SO much fun tapping into his wild side, exploring, and playing with the neighbor's extremely friendly pups. He was absolutely exhausted.

    Sean2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jade's place was great. We had plenty of room to relax in the house with plenty to do to keep us busy and not bored. We had a great time exploring outside in the fields and sledding in the snow. It felt like we were home and didn't have to worry about anything.

  • The house is very nice, clean and quaint. Also a nice quiet location. Would highly recommend.

  • Absolutely pristine spot in the Vermont countryside. This trip was our second stay at the location, and once again, the hosts and location do not disappoint. Thank you again for the wonderful stay, and we will certainly be back!

  • Can’t say enough positive things about this place! The view is breathtaking, the land & the house offer so much to do. It is all the seclusion you want with all the amenities but town isn’t too far away ether. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer, but we will be back!

Remote and completely disconnected from the power grid, this home makes and stores all of its electricity with a state of the art solar system and there is no internet or cellular service here to distract you. This home is located in a private but easy to access location with plenty of space to play. A great spot for family reunions, get-togethers, and nature lovers.
This home has been completely remodeled with a modern kitchen and bathrooms, new mattresses and all new sheets and towels. It has three bedrooms with a total of 5 beds plus a queen sized pull out couch in the living room, we charge an additional fee for parties with more than six guests.
About a 15 minute drive from the general store in Strafford, VT, this place is as private as you can get yet is easily accessible in all seasons. Located adjacent to the Strafford Town Forest we are surrounded by hundreds of acres of wild lands with lots of trails to hike, bike, or ski. There is even a clear spring fed pond on the property to swim in and lounge around.
  • Awesome experience in fully autonomous house. The most quiet and peaceful place I’ve ever seen in USA. Clean and cozy. Definitely want to comeback. The host was very friendly and helpful.

  • Pat is a great host and the house, the location and the view are all amazing. It is perfectly quiet and secluded spot to run away from the rest of the world. We had a group of five and had a great time at your place. All rooms, bathrooms, sheets everything was perfectly clean. Pat provided all the household you will need. Heating was working perfect, the fireplace was amazing, probably the biggest you will ever see. I hope you will have a cloudless night as we did since the stars are so perfectly visible. The location is close to multiple ski resorts within a 30 min drive each. Note that there is a signal amplifier installed in the house so you can have signal. It was good for verizon and tmobile, we didnt have chance to see for other providers. We will definitely check Pat's place again when we are coming back, I strongly recommend the spot.

  • It was so clean and the location was so peaceful. We went snowboarding in Killington and this was best place to stay. We love love this place!!!!

    Antonilia2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you need a place that gives you peace and quiet with spectacular views, this is the place. No internet or TV. Which was fine with us. Huge indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit. Charcoal Grill and great deck. We did not want to leave.

    Kristen2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, exactly as advertised. We have a wonderful experience during the stay. Pat was a responsible person, help us everything. Highly recommended to everyone!

    2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Pat’s house is a perfect getaway from the world. It is listed as off the grid, and it is (although we were able to reach a cell service- though we didn’t need it!). The location is just far enough to feel away from everything, but not far from the town at all. We had no issues with the solar power, and actually found it really cool to turn all the lights off at night and look at the stars (something you don’t get to see too much when you live in a big city). Pat was so generous enough to cut us some firewood for a bonfire, and accommodations were perfect. It was too cold to swim, but we did walk to the pond and played with the frogs. We also got to hear a bear right behind the house which was cool! We went during foliage season and Pat’s place allows for perfect views of the mountain. We would highly recommend staying here!

    Rachel2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing and perfect for visiting the area during the fall as the leaves change into beautiful colors. Everything was clean and easy to use. It has an amazing fire place, fire pit and outdoor deck. Felt quiet and peaceful. Very relaxing place and highly recommended.

    Inshirah2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Pat’s place was a great stay. The view off the deck is amazing, and the area is very tranquil. Pat was always quick to respond to messages as well. I plan on coming back as soon as I can!

  • This is a cozy place with a great view. We even had a fridge full of snacks and bagels for breakfast waiting for us.

  • Amy’s place is a gorgeous guest house perched on top of a large hill that provides for excellent views ! The space is very stylish and looks as if a professionally decorated. Reg let me in the unit when I arrived and is a very friendly. The hill was a bit challenging in mud season but I had all wheel drive and studded snow tires . But if one wants the views makes perfect sense the road is a bit of a steep climb . I would guess the xc skiing from the guest house is excellent . The hot tub was perfect, super clean ! a short walk but made it even more enjoyable to get in the hot water . The whole property is immaculate and you can see the thoughtful effort that’s gone into the whole estate . So picturesque could be a location for a movie . A+

    Andrew2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of our best Airbnb experiences! The Airbnb was super clean and very lovely. The entire place was beautifully decorated and had many thoughtful touches. Bagels were provided for breakfast as well as a full fridge of juices, snacks, coffee and more! We used the hot tub ever day that looked out over the mountain and their farm. The dogs were super sweet and the entire weekend was perfect! Thank you for your great hospitality you, can’t wait to come back

    Tess2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous space! Fabulous hosts! Not enough stars available to rate it all the stars I'd give.

    Faith2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amy and Reg are amazing hosts with an amazing property! The views are better than any picture. The amenities are so nice and everything was so clean! Having coffee in the morning looking out at the mountains is something I will certainly miss! Can't wait to go back!

    Michelle2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amy’s house was absolutely beautiful! The hot tub was the best part of our whole trip! The house is beautiful and over looks a beautiful view! Amy and Reg were both so accommodating to everything! Only thing was the house was located on top of a huge hill that my little Hyundai Elantra had a hard time getting up, so just be mindful of that if you have a small car. Other than that the space itself was amazing and I would love to go back

    Jen2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable spot to enjoy a quite weekend away.

    Tim2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a sweet place to stay in the area, you can't go wrong with picking Amy's place. It is adorable, has everything you need, and is stunningly clean. We had a lovely, very quiet and peaceful weekend, and I would love to stay here again. Kitchen snacks and beverages were much appreciated, as were all of the small touches throughout. Walking in the first night to the lit candles was particularly welcoming. Communication was easy and efficient too. As noted in the description, there's not a full kitchen, but we planned accordingly and with the small fridge, microwave, and sink, it was just fine. Lots of games (we played Scrabble!) and TV options too (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.).

It is close to Lake Morey & Lake Fairlee where you can golf, boat, swim, hike and explore. This property is private and perfect for families or a solitude retreat. Zoe’s Place The quintessential Vermont experience. Situated on Waits River in Bradford Vermont, this charming 2 bdr/1 bath chalet sits right on the river. Fully furnished and well-appointed with two fireplaces, a gorgeous sun porch looking out at the river, central, WIFI – fire pit outside, barbecue. Kitchen has everything you need. There is one queen size bed, one double and room to sleep on the couch in Sunroom or the sectional in the living room. The space can be divided up into two separate spaces each with a living area, bedroom, fireplace & Wifi. Perfect for couples or someone wanting quiet time to read while others want to watch a movie. You can count on decompressing as you sit riverside and watch the array of different birds/ducks traveling down the stream. Zoe’s Place is an enchanted property that won’t disappoint. Close to Lake Morey Golf Club, Lake Fairlee, 25 minutes from Dartmouth College and White River Jct. Great restaurants nearby. Lots of golfing, hiking trails, skiing right near by and so much more! Longer stays can be arranged for a discount if you are in the area traveling or temporary at the hospital or university. Contact me. If you stay longer than 10 days we may need to come in and clean during your visit. That will be determined on a case by case basis. You have access to a kayak (your own risk), 2 fly-fishing poles, a regular fresh water pole, lures and a cooler. We ask that you do not use the inside fireplaces during summer months to conserve on petro and wood. The backyard fire pit can be used during the summer months and fall. The fireplaces are available in the colder months. We have now procured proper insurance to allow for the use of the inside fireplaces. As far as cell phone service goes it really depends on who your provider is. Verizon has good reception at the Chalet AT&T does not. We do have entire house WiFi and a house phone if need be. I have coffee and tea available at the Chalet and a community food pantry and fridge (one can never be sure what’s in there). However, no other food is provided. Visit us on instagram #the_red_chalet
Bradford Vermont is right out of the Andy Griffin show. People are kind, friendly and helpful. When I am there I do not even lock the doors.
  • Great place to stay ❤❤❤❤

  • Zoe’s place was everything we could’ve hoped for and more! The pictures are exactly what you’ll find- this cabin offers everything you might need! The bed was super comfy, the wood stove is extremely cozy, and the view from the river room is beautiful. Check in/out was very visitor friendly and Daneene was very quick to respond with any questions we had and very helpfully with her responses. My favorite part had to be the views from the river room over morning coffee and home cooked breakfast. Highly recommend this place to everyone, we most definitely will be back!

    Alicia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for the second week in a row for a work event we had in town. Again, I wish I could have stayed longer, but this time I did have a chance to enjoy the view of the river as I sat in the sitting room next to the fireplace. Everything was great!

    Oryx2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Deneene's Place is a wonderful, quaint little place to stay. I'd love to come back in the summertime to stay on the river!

    Luke2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely as advertised and a great place to stay. My only regret is that we are there for work and don't have time to explore the surroundings, which are beautiful.

    Oryx2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Everything you could want out of a weekend cabin in the woods! Thoughtfully appointed with amenities and supplies. Easy to find, clean, cozy and comfy! The river running behind the house is a delight and the fireplace was perfect for late nights and games with friends.

    Ashley2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • PERFECT weekend retreat. Deneene is a responsive host and her place has everything needed for a getaway. We skated the oval on Lake Morey both days of our stay, and being able to come back to the chalet and relax by a fire was priceless. Tranquil view of the river, super comfy accommodations, great layout. Flexible check in/check out was appreciated too. Definitely will be back.

    Maria2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this stay so much. I think it’s the only place I’ve ever stayed where I really felt sad leaving. It is so cozy and inviting and just has a very genuinely homey feeling to it that is lacking in most Airbnbs. I think I watched the snow fall while cozied up on the couch beside the fire and sipped on coffee for an entire 4 days. The bed was so comfortable I slept wonderfully. Waking up to fresh snow on on the grounds really makes your New England winter dreams come true. The view of the river with fresh snow coating the trees was just beautiful. Highly recommend this place.

  • We had a great stay at Skip's Cabin. We didn't leave the cabin for the whole weekend! Our dogs had a great time on their first holiday. We had fun exploring the property. We didn't see another person the whole weekend. We had a peaceful, relaxing weekend. We will be back!

  • Home away from home. We had 3 family's, All stayed comfortably. Great location if you are looking for a secluded area. This house will be great for you. Matt is an amazing host. Hope to visit again.

  • Skip's place is paradise--- it's well loved and surrounded by beauty. Its such a comfortable place to stay-- warm, cozy, inviting both inside and outside.

    Cara2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place. My boyfriend and I and our dog needed a place to stay in the area fairly last minute, and decided on Skip’s place. We are so glad we did! From the peaceful secluded location to the spacious yet cozy feel of the home, we truly enjoyed our stay. It is exactly as pictured, but even better. The kitchen is well-stocked, and perfect for cooking full meals. There is a large dining room with a beautiful view of the property, a living area with a comfy couch & a tv with streaming capabilities, and the master was wonderful. Very large and comfortable bed, with plenty of skylights and a huge master bathroom with a wonderful jacuzzi. There are also tons of books, games and puzzles to keep you occupied if you’re spending the days inside to escape the cold like we did. The house is basically stocked with anything you could need, and there were even toothbrushes and toothpaste provided. We have visited probably a dozen AirBnBs in Vermont over the last 2 years and this was easily one of our favorites. If you’re looking for a beautiful place to spend a few (or several) nights in a beautiful place and relax, I absolutely recommend this house. Especially for the value. Thanks Matthew, we will definitely be back!

    Ashley2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew was an Amazing host! He was extremely accommodating and made sure we felt comfortable in his home. The house was clean and the views were beautiful. I would definitely recommend staying here! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

  • Great little cabin in the woods with great views and decent travel times to local ski resorts

    Chris2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The seclusion is wonderful! Load your maps long before you get in the area dont rely on recalculating! Enjoy the beauty

    Craig2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here with our two friends for a little New Year’s getaway. From the start, Matthew was very communicative and generous as he offered us to come a day early (with no charge) to beat the snowstorm. Once we got there, we could just tell how important and memorable that home is to his family! The house itself was very clean, nice amenity touches for guests and just very cozy over all! It’s definitely an oasis for outdoor enthusiasts year-round! We’ll be back!

Come stay with Rose and Danny as we restore the barn on the Historic Kimball Dairy Farm built in 1850.. You will sleep in a bed from the original owners in a loft with exposed hand hewn beams and look out over woodlands and meadow. You can lounge on the patio which was once an old grain silo, sit around the fire dish, listen to the fountain in the koi pond, or chill on the covered deck. We have a brand new private shower and sink to wash up or do the dishes on the ground floor of the barn
There's a mini fridge, two burner infrared hot plate, Bluetooth solar speaker, USB ports, and cold well water fountain, and hard wired smoke detectors. We have hammocks to hang off the giant hemlocks and a bench at the top of our meadow that overlooks the valley. There are running trails cut through the forest on our land and we will provide you with maps and tips on the best places to hike, ride , drink, hang out or party in the area. We are outdoor enthusiasts and can direct you to some of our many local trails. Rainy day? No problem ! The State House, Vermont History Museum, Ben and Jerry's, Bread and Puppet, The Lost Nation Theater, The Vermont Antique Trail, The Prohibition Pig, Three Penny Taproom, and more breweries than you can shake a growler at are wicked close by. This is going to be fun!
  • The place is exactly as advertised! Great location and great hosts.

  • We travel a lot and stay in air BNBs 99% of the time, this has been our all time favorite one! I was a little hesitant at first because I was afraid it would be cold; however we were quite comfortable! It had everything we could have needed and more! The barn truly was a major part of our adventure in Vermont!!!

    Beverly2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Funky 1800's barn loft was so much fun for our a three night stay. This Airbnb is for the Adventurous. The barn in in North Central Vermont and Rosealie and Danny have fixed it up with eclectic cute figurines, accessories, paintings, photographs and furniture. The bed is AMAZING. We were there to hike and it was so nice to climb in a comfortable and warm bed. Rosealie and Danny went out of their way to make us comfortable. The weather turned very cold but the barn was warm and toasty. This is not your average modern facility. The charm and hosts make this an experience to remember for a lifetime.

    MaryEllen2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Funky doesn't begin to describe this out of the way gem. The little quirky touches like a "Barbie" doll chandelier added greatly to the ambiance. It really is a barn being converted into livable space. The sleeping and living area is located in the barn's loft while an "indoor/outdoor" compost toilet and shower are downstairs along side a work area for the construction conversion. I had a "minor" health scare and Rose demonstrated empathy and compassion for my needs. This was special attention above and beyond what most would expect and it was especially appreciated.

    Charles2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time in Rosaline's barn! It is definitely a funky barn as advertised and was great fun for the first night of "Cherie & Shirley's great adventure"! Just make sure you know what you are signing up for! The facilities are not for the faint of heart.

    Dave2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic, funky and artsy. Staying at Rosaline's place is a bit like glamping. It was a fun adventure.

    Armando2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place and we will go back. Described very accurately on airbnb.

This charming, cozy 2 bedroom cabin w small kitchen and living area is situated on a beautiful pond in a truly idealistic setting. Come unwind and unplug!! Propane fridge, lighting and stove and also an outdoor grill. No electric. No running water but water is available. OUTHOUSE. Hiking, mountain biking, relax....experience VT. Nestled in the mountains with a beautiful pond right outside your door. We reside on the property yet a fair distance from the cabin.
A place to unplug, break out a book, pull out a board game, listen to the birds. Take a step back, very tranquil and peaceful. We live on the property. Our home is located a fair distance from the the cabin ...you can get a visual in one of the photos provided. The entire cabin and its contents are for your use. There is a living and dining area...a small kitchen w a stove. There is a propane refrigerator. There is a 1st floor bedroom with 2 twin beds and a loft area w a full size bed. Please note- there is no cell service in the cabin and service is very spotty in the area.
We live in the hills of central Vermont on a lovely dirt road surrounded by beautiful trees and many wildflowers. We have a small farm which consists of 3 mini horses, 2 full size horses, 2 goats, chickens and of course a dog and cat. We live simple and are off the grid.
  • We came in late October, a little late for swimming and wondering whether it would be too cold to enjoy this off-the-grid experience. In fact, it was (and is probably always) the perfect time to be there! The wood stove worked like a charm, the cabin was super cozy - and we even enjoyed being "stuck" inside (finally felt my mind calm down from city life!) during a Sunday where it rained the whole day. We had no need to shower during the 3 days we were there, and all the other amenities were not only sufficient but really quite fun (to light the gas lamps, wash dishes using gallons of water, explore the area to find wifi to do a bit of work - there's a lovely coffee shop if you go south to Royalton). It was very special meeting the animals and chatting to Bill about the local history. We really felt like we'd traveled back in time. The night sky was breath-taking. We remembered to take a headlamp on a walk we did off the property - which was good because the sun set very quickly and we had to find our way back in the dark! Bit spooky, but the cabin welcomed us back and was a true sanctuary during our time. We can't wait to come back in all the other seasons!

    Jordan2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place to disconnect and unplug from your phone, this was absolutely perfect. It was everything I imagined and more. Like the rest of the reviews confirm, Tania and Bill were amazing hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed and then some. The wood stove made the place feel cozy and the views of the land are breath taking. Absolutely would come back

    Jenna2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tania was a warm and welcome host while giving us plenty of space to have our own experience. The cabin was cozy and stocked up with everything we needed. Only wish was for unscented candles for ambience without scent as I am sensitive to that! The pond, the animals, the scenic drive into town, were all stunning. I would recommend this place to anyone in need of some unplugged connection time.

    Em2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a truly magical place! Spent the weekend here with my girlfriend playing board games and reading. If you're looking for a break from civilization this is it!

    Marshall2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. A classic fish camp lovingly preserved. No modern amenities, but everything you need and really cozy. Tania & Bill are fantastic hosts.

    Kathy2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful place!! This was actually our second time coming here...it was just so perfect last time (and this time!). We explored new trails on the property (there are endless trails to explore) and bonded with the amazing animals again. Tania and Bill are super friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. They even took us for a ride on the horses which made for an incredible birthday present! All of the extra thoughts and touches in the cabin are wonderful. We can’t wait to come back next season :-) it surpasses our expectations every time!!

    Lorraine2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Definitely recommend going in the fall to see the colors. Would recommend arriving before it's dark because of the drive. Tania prepared amazing zuchinni bread, orange juice, fresh milk and eggs for our breakfast, which we ate by the pond. Book this place!!!

    Miranda2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was a piece of heaven. We could not have wished for a more wonderful place for a retreat, and it wasn’t just that the place is endlessly beautiful, which it is, but also that Tania and Bill are such beautiful souls. I really hope to see them again soon.

Beautiful location on the CT River!
There is a dock from approximately May 31 to September 15.
Near Dartmouth College and 5 minutes from groceries, gasoline, the library, etc. in a village of 3000 in season.
  • This cottage is more than "Cozy"...it is clean, private, amazing location and views, modern and warm. We loved it there. Marjorie was so responsive and welcoming. 6 stars out of 5!

  • Beautiful, private setting with lovely amenities and touches in close proximity to Fairlee and nearby camp wedding destinations. I highly recommend this property and Marjorie!

    Jennifer2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don’t do justice to the beauty of this property...expect to be wowed! The house overlooks the river and is peaceful and private. The deck and porch bring you into all the surrounding nature. Inside, it is immaculate and you will want for nothing in the living space. Marjorie has thought of everything. Fairlee is a little town but close to Hanover and great restaurants...perfect spot if you like your personal space. Marjorie is a highly responsive and thoughtful host!

  • Such a beautiful place! It was better than expected. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Such gracious hosts. Thank you!!

    Chase2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is just lovely and very private. It is close to the highway which was a concern before I got there as I am quite sensitive to noise. The wonderfully pristine environment, however, over-ruled my concern for the noise and it was easily blocked out. No one in over 30 reviews I read even mentioned the highway sounds which speaks volumes as far as it not being a concern. May I also mention my family has dubbed me to be like the “princess and the pea”. So take that into consideration. I barely had a chance to meet Marjorie as she was very busy especially with a new litter of kittens. I will return to this little piece of heaven and I hope I will get a chance to meet Marjorie and David again and not just in passing. And oh do I look forward to her delicious coffee cake!!

    Katherine2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Oh....my.....goodness! This cottage was so perfect! My husband and I came to Fairlee for a wedding and this getaway cottage was exactly what we dreamed of. It was so cozy and comfortable and warm and welcoming. Marjorie was so nice in all our messages and she even left us her homemade coffee cake in the fridge to greet us when we arrived. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom and we highly recommend this airbnb to anybody looking for the perfect getaway in beautiful Vermont. Cheers!

    Carmen2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage is perfection. It's immaculate, tastefully decorated, has a beautiful view of the Connecticut River from the deck and from inside, and a spacious screened porch, which was appreciated on a rainy morning. Marjorie turned the lights on for our late arrival and left us orange juice and coffee cake for breakfast. There are fantastic restaurants within ten miles and the countryside is breathtaking. This is a very lovely place to stay.

An old camp brought back to life. This sweet spot is a new renovation built to blend modern with rustic by a craftsman with a love of wood. You will see seven different kinds of wood on show here. See if you can name them all during your stay. From the loft is a wide view of the special kitchen with cabinets made from Tap Hole Maple and a spectacular Birdseye Maple counter top.
    * Easy access from the highway and you will not need 4x4 to get here. * The loft is accessed by a hefty ladder with railings but is steep. Use of the loft is at your own risk. * While there is full plumbing, the water is spring fed, so please be mindful of usage.
In the woods but close to the town of Bradford with several good restaurants and grocery shopping. Bradford is also home to the well known Farmway store where you can shop for just about anything. Close the Lake Morey in Fairlee for summer or winter activites, hiking in the White mountains, mountain biking, ATV use, and snowmobile access to the VAST trail system. Or, hike my land out the back door to the top of the mountain with beautiful views of Mt. Moosilauke NH. 2 mi to Bear Ridge Speedway (May - Oct) 2.9 mi to Bradford Golf Course 3.2 mi to Farmway 9 mi to Lake Morey 9.7 mi to Lake Fairlee 9.5 mi to Northeast Slopes for skiing at a $15 price tag! 26 mi to King Arthur Flour 26 mi to Montshire Museum of Science 26 mi to Mt Moosilauke, NH 36 mi to Lincoln, NH
  • This was a really special place and we had a great time here. Steven is an amazing host, he met us at arrival even though we were late, gave us a tour of this cabin and its background. It`s probably one of the most beautifully made places I`ve seen, really special. Everything is hand made and has a history. Its a nice area to go for walks in and our daugther had a great time exploring the little things outside in the forest by the cabin. I would reccomend this place and we`re definitely coming back.

    Johanne2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place for a getaway! The camp that Steven has built is absolutely beautiful, very spacious, and has everything you need to feel in nature, with the comforts of the indoors! There is a beautiful hiking trail right behind the camp that leads to a picturesque summit! Steven and Melissa were very friendly and helpful when we met them at the camp. We will definitely be staying here again!

    Barbara2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful with a woodworker's touch. Steve did a wonderful job renovating the cabin. He was extremely helpful and forthcoming with local spots to visit and hiking in the area. Please be someone who will appreciate the hard work he put into this place and its clean and cozy atmosphere when booking your stay. We will absolutely be back!

  • Jane's place is cute, clean and efficiently organized. The quality matress, quiet surroundings, cleanliness AND a spacious fenced in back yard for my two precious doggy companions and a private porch made me feel more like home, than being away. If you need anything out of the ordinary ( wanted a cheese-grater) Janet will accommodate you swiftly. I can highly recommend Jane's place! My doggies and I will be back next year for sure. Thank you Janet for making our stay so pleasant.

  • Amanda's place was amazing for a quick weekend getaway! She left a great page of local restaurants nearby which made deciding on dinner very easy. It was very clean and cozy. Amanda was very nice and responded quickly when we had trouble. We're already looking forward to our next trip!

  • Amanda's apartment is lovely-comfortable, clean and with every amenity you could require. I spent a weekend with my college age children so we could try skating at Morey Lake but there is so much more to do in the area. My daughter fell in love with Vermont! Amanda's place is easy to find (her directions are perfect). I hope to return to Vermont and Amanda's place soon.

  • The cloud 9 suit is a beautiful place to stay. I was there with my girlfriend and my best friend with his girlfriend. They took the bedroom with the fireplace and we took the sofa bed to see the view. Watching the horizon change colors as the sun sets is incredible, and waking up to the mountains reassured me that the cloud 9 suit is the place to stay when in Vermont. There were plenty of extra blankets and towels for all 4 of us to be cozy at night when the temperature fell and the kitchen had everything we needed and more ! We did notice however, that there were a few DVD's to the left of the TV but no DVD player. But this was not an issue as we did not sit down long enough to watch television. Thanks again for the hospitality and all the info prior to our arrival. I hope to visit Vermont again and be able to stay at the Cloud 9 suit once more.

    Austin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend at Amanda’s Air BnB. It had everything we need, slept all our guests comfortably and the best view right out the living room windows. It was super convenient to get back and fourth between our activities at Lake Morey.

  • Very warm and welcoming space. Plenty of towels, romantic wall “fireplace” in bedroom, nice kitchen, soft sheets, beautiful views, great hikes from the front door. You’ll love this rustic spot nestled in the beautiful hills of Vermont, minutes away from two rivers, and lovely walks with valley views all around you. It's also just 10-15 minutes from Dartmouth College with it's libraries, fine music, theater, dance and films, and 15-25 from 3 local hospitals. Our place is good for couples (as short term guests), solo adventurers, business travelers, and traveling nurses.
Within walking distance to a small classic New England town, our house backs up onto woods that border a state forest full of trails for walking & skiing. We are about 15 minutes away from the Dartmouth Ski-way and many local hiking trails and rivers and lakes to swim in. If you don't like to cook there are many good restaurants and pubs nearby, we'd be happy to recommend, in addition to a small local breakfast and lunch spot open all year round and an organic farm with a cafe open during the warmer months.
Our place is perfect if you like living in a rural setting and all that it has to offer but want (or need) to be close to Dartmouth College, local hospitals (DHMC, WRJ VA, and Alice Peck Day), and other business and shopping related necessities.
  • Kerstin’s home is a nice little retreat in a small town of Vermont. She’s incredibly generous with her home and was perfect host. I hope you are able to stay with Kerstin and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds the blue room. I will be sure to stay here again soon!

The Blue Room is very spacious, has a beautiful view and a very soft, comfortable bed. The whole house is really cozy, and Kerstin's three adorable cats make it even more homely. I had a wonderful stay and can't thank Kerstin enough for her kindness and hospitality.

    Luis2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, warm, friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and airy with beautiful view of garden, mountain and pear tree. Kerstin provided helpful directions for exploring the area, too, including what to avoid during hunting season. Thetford and surrounding area are perfect for a quiet, relaxing retreat. I would stay here again.

  • We stayed in the Moose cabin. It’s super cozy and charming. My son loved the sled hill through the trees right next to the cabin. It was an easy drive to Sugarbush to ski each day.

    Pamela2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing spot! Very easy communication, check-in, check-out, etc. The space was very cozy and property was breathtaking. Kitchen fully stocked with supplies for cooking and plenty of extra blankets to bundle up. I can’t wait to go back!

A unique opportunity to be surrounded by the Connemara Pony of Ireland. This is an off the grid stay in a glamorous way. There is no electricity or hot water. Fresh water is provided for drinking or cooking. Gas grill provided. We have miles of marked walking trails, equestrian opportunities, coffee and tea every morning and much more. This is a secluded piece of heaven in a small rural town. There are solar showers and an outhouse.
Breakfast can be served if desired for an additional cost. Nearby spots for lunch and dinner.
Chelsea Vermont offers a farmers market on Fridays only 6 miles away. Chelsea also has a very nice Cafe that is open Wednesday through Saturday for breakfast and lunch. 6 miles away. Crossroads fresh vegetable market open daily until 6. 7 miles away.
  • Great location and exactly what you'd expect from an off the grid experience. Incredible hosts on a beautiful farm

  • Authentic rural Vermont experience, setting is great, Sarah is super helpful, very relaxing and excellent place to unplug from city mode.

  • Fantastic location and a very special place to stay. Very beautiful

    Wes2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Gary and Sarah’s 50 acre spread is a gem! You’ll stay in their sparkling new bunkhouse/cabin, basic but comfortable, and be introduced to their little animal kingdom. Ride the Connemara ponies, see the chickens lay fresh eggs, and play with Bert the lovable Mastiff and the rest of their doggie brood. Warm hospitality from Sarah, Gary and their 11 year old daughter Sydney. Highly recommended for a unique Vermont experience.

You will love this cozy cabin nestled in the woods above the beautiful Twin Ponds, an idyllic private spot for swimming. Experience life on a working farmstead in the rolling hills of central Vermont.
We are located in the hills of central Vermont, close to good hiking, skiing and swimming. Your cabin is located on the land of Plant Spirit Farm & Fibers, a certified organic retail plant nursery, plant dye farm, and plant dye studio. March through June we are busy growing thousands of seedlings and July through October we are busy in our outdoor plant dye studio producing all our beautiful plant dyed fiber arts, and year round we are busy maintaining our very active and diversified homestead where we have dairy goats and a diary cow, growing nearly all our own food and medicine in our gardens, including fruit orchards and berry patches, we also raise chickens, ducks, and geese. Your cabin is located about 100 feet down a short hill from where you park, through the woods overlooking the beautiful Twin Ponds. From the door of your cabin a trail leads you further down the hill, a five minute walk on switchback trail, to a beautiful swimming spot on the private lake. If you enjoy fishing you will find the waters loaded with fish. We have fishing poles you may use and fishing licences can be acquired at the local farm store, ask us for info. Your cabin has no electricity or plumbing. There is a communal outdoor kitchen, available May through mid-October, which has electricity and wifi, located up the hill from your cabin under a beautiful timber frame pavilion for your use. It has propane cooking burners, a refrigerator, a grill, and an outdoor kitchen sink with hot water and water for drinking. We have an outdoor wood-fired oven which is often in use and we can gladly assist you in using it with notice. Your cabin is a three season cabin and has a wood stove, we can provide wood and assistance or instructions in lighting it if weather is chilly. An outhouse is located up above your cabin near the communal kitchen. It is a composting toilet. There is an outdoor shower equipped with hot water. This is one of two cabins at our place. We can accommodate groups of four by booking both cabins. See our other listing "Cozy Cabin with Sauna".
We are 12 miles north of Randolph Vermont, which has an Amtrak stop. The greyhound bus stops in Montpelier 1/2hr from our place. Burlington International Airport is 1 hr from our location. The closest grocery and gas station is in Randolph or Montpelier, Vermont, around 17 miles away. Brookfield is famous for its Floating Bridge, which is 5 minutes away by car. There are two renown Restaurants within 20 minuets of our place. Ariel's in Brookfield, across the famous floating bridge, and the Black Krim Tavern in down town Randolph. Both feature farm to plate fare as well as many fine dining options in Montpelier, Vermont. The mountains of Vermont are in our backyard with swimming holes, hiking, and kayaking and skiing close by. Camels hump is 35 minutes away and has been a favorite hiking spot for our guests. We are 40 minutes from Stowe and access to Smugglers Notch and Mt Mansfield, which has gondola rides in the summer and an access road to drive to the top. Sugarbush and Mad River Glen are 45 minutes to 1 hour away. We are just north of Killington which is 50 minutes away.
  • My husband and I loved our stay here. We were looking forward to a relaxing unplugged weekend. The fall foliage was gorgeous and the location was perfect. You’ll enjoy this space if you are up for adventure and not afraid of some challenge. The cabin is a steep hike down to a private space. From there you can hike further down to the water. Keep in mind that the outhouse and shower are back up the hill. We were delightfully greeted by the farm corgi and host to show us to our spot. The kitchen had everything you need and the outdoor shower was nice and warm. The best part was the scenery and farm animals.

    Shannon2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic, quaint, secluded, and tranquil. Exactly what I wanted.

    Michael2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cabin. It was quiet and charming. Our host were super helpful and friendly. (Make sure to bring a headlight! It gets dark really fast!)

    Danielle2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Dreamy little cabin, cozy and perfect! A delightful little retreat in the woods, walkable to the pond, and just below a ridge where the main house and other amenities are located. It was great to have wifi and electricity available in the main area, but not in the cabin itself. Hosts Jennifer and Zach were friendly and warm.

    Mia2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome cabin with amazing pond!

    Alex2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is perfect to unplug from the city. The pound is really nice to swim in and the bed in the cabin is really comfortable. The stay was perfect.

    Émilie2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Confirming the positive feedback of other reviews. Jennifer’s place exceeded our expectations (and expectations were high!). The cabin was beautifully placed alone in the woods, and the private lake was incredibly special. Jennifer also went out of her way to welcome us and make us feel at home. Highly recommend!

    Sarah2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to get away. Wish we had more time to spend and explore the pond.

  • Very nice flat, super clean, The place was really nice and it should be nice too in summer, do not hesitate ! See you another day maybe, Flo and Thim

    Flo2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as advertised! Kyle is a wonderful host. All of the recommendations were so helpful, and the place is gorgeous. I stayed at a MUCH more expensive Airbnb the night before staying at Kyle’s place and it did not have even half of the amenities that Kyles home did. The coffee station and cabinet full of spices were so helpful for someone trying to pack light! The TV and wifi were easy to use and I had no issue finding the place!

    Michele2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great condo and responsive host. It was my first time visiting Vermont and Kyle was able to provide a helpful list of recommendations. Convenient location if you are looking to visit Dartmouth and King Flour Bakery. We would definitely stay here again.

    Christopher2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing getaway! The place is beautiful and clean. The kitchen is full of appliances and spices. Kyle is very responsive. Would definitely go back and would recommend to everyone!

  • We had a great time at Kyle’s place. Everything was clean, comfy and great! There was a full kitchen with all we needed to cook. Again, it was wonderful. Thanks Kyle!

Fun themed bedroom in our home with twin bed on a quiet residential street. Lots of storage, comfortably quirky. Great for long-term stays; weekly/monthly discounts available. Check out our reviews and *other rooms* too! It's also the perfect springboard for foliage, hiking, day trips and more! OR you may just want to stay and enjoy our huge backyard with firepit, sledding, a swing and VIEWS. Extra bedding with floor pad available; our twin floor mattress may be available to reserve instead.
This is our home... we love it and according to most we keep it reasonably tidy. At the same time, we lead rich lives and try not to stress if things get backed up now and then. Rest assured that our listing rooms and linens are always cleaned before the arrival of each new guest. Same goes for the guest bathroom upstairs-- however, it is a shared space and may at any time reflect some use! If we're around, please let us know if it needs attention; if not, there are cleaning supplies in the hall closet just outside the bathroom :) Our kitchen is not the main focus of the listing; if you choose to use it, please note that it is awaiting renovation. It still has full functionality. PLEASE NOTE: If you book within 24 hours of arrival, we may not be able to clean your room until the late afternoon. You are still welcome to arrive as early as 1 p.m. and use the facilities.
Beautiful tree-lined street with plenty of space between houses, kind neighbors and very little traffic. Walking distance to town with all amenities including restaurants (most close by 8 or 9 p.m.), library, churches, shops and basic groceries. Large supermarket, drug store and other churches and stores within 2 miles, including the famous Farm-Way outdoor outfitters, gift shop and more. There are also several parks in Bradford: Elizabeth’s Park... Huge playground that families come from miles around to enjoy. Denny Park... Gazebo and green space in the middle of downtown with views of the White Mountains. Boch Park... Also downtown on Main Street, overlooks the dam on the Waits River and its beautiful waterfall!
  • Don, Jennifer, and their daughter are all lovely, nice people. Check-in was simple and easy. We were only there for less than 24 hours but it was a great place to crash for the night, the house was quiet and it was easy to get a good night’s sleep! We would’ve loved to stay longer. Thank you to the hosts! There was a dog staying in the room next to us, so it’s super cool that they allow people to travel along with their beloved pets :)

Welcome to historic Freedom Ring Farm, built in 1771 and located directly on the border of New Hampshire and Vermont on the Connecticut River. Located just 15 minutes to Dartmouth and just across from Fairlee, VT and the Lake Morey resort. My vacation house is situated away from the road on a 15 acre farm on gorgeous rolling land that gently makes its way to the river. The farm even includes an old airplane hangar!
My guesthouse was completely remodeled to the studs in late 2018 and features a private entrance, living room (with sofa bed), fully-stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, master bedroom, bathroom and of course a decorative mouse hole! The unit has brand new windows, high-density insulation, heaters, and everything you need to have a cozy stay. The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, and even a washer/dryer combo unit. It comes stocked with flatware, dishes, and pots/pans. Enjoy the serenity and breathtaking beauty of the farm, river, and Upper Valley. Diners, Grocery Stores, Coffee Stands, Antiques and restaurants are just 5-15 minutes away. Note: My property manager and cleaner’s name is April and may be your primary contact through the experience.
Orford is a rural community on the Connecticut River in western New Hampshire. Home to approximately 1200 people, Orford is known for its historic “ridge” homes, as well as family farms and small businesses. Much of Orford is forested, providing for a variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking, boating, snowshoeing and hunting. Chartered in 1761, Orford has a history of close ties with its neighboring towns on the Vermont side of the river. In 1998, Orford and the Vermont towns of Fairlee, West Fairlee and Vershire formed the pre K-12 Rivendell Interstate School District. Mount Cube, Sunday Mountain and Cottonstone Mountain, Indian Pond and Upper and Lower Baker ponds are distinctive features of the Orford landscape. The Appalachian Trail passes over the summit of Mt. Cube, and the cross-Rivendell trail connects Orford to neighboring Vermont towns.
  • This was the most beautiful, quaint, GORGEOUS farmhouse apartment in the world. It was nothing short of magical for a girls weekend away! Will absolutely be coming back.

    Lani2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, charming, cozy, stylish, welcoming. We arrived a bit late due to weather (February snowstorm, classic VT!) and April was wonderful. Loved our stay!

    Nicole2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot in a very cute and cozy guest house. The space is well appointed, very comfy bed and great rain shower. Great communication, would stay again!

  • Beautiful place to stay. Cozy and cute, with lots of attention to detail in the rooms, which I loved. Hosts are wonderful and great with communication and able to help with any questions. A great stay and that I would recommend and go to again.

    Liz2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! A great space that felt very comfortable with a nice layout and thoughtful decor. Everything is wonderfully updated but still has a cute farmhouse feel. Very clean and well kept. It was -6 degrees outside on one of the nights we stayed and it was nice and warm inside. Would highly recommend!

    Betsey2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures don't do the beauty of this place any justice. The interior design is absolutely stunning. In terms of comfort: The water pressure and heat in the shower are amazing, the bed is comfortable, the tiny space heats up quickly in the winter, and the fridge is plenty big for holding whatever food you would need. Additionally, this location is excellent - right on Rt. 10 and not far from the interstate and a few good restaurants in Fairlee, VT. To top it off, you can't beat the price. Sam was great with communication and April was lovely when we met her on the property. We hope to be back in the future for another stay.

    Jill2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sam & April have curated a BEAUTIFUL space that is cozy & comfortable. They were hospitable and kind with good communication

    Krystyn2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's space is incredible! We really enjoyed the beautiful design which was such a cool contrast to the beautiful natural surroundings! We will definitely be returning for a future visit to the area.
