Places to stay in Chisago County
We offer a beautifully decorated in-law suite that sits on 18 acres and overlooks a small, private lake. On warm nights we have two hammocks and an area to sit by the water. On cool nights you can enjoy a bonfire and during the winter months you can snuggle up by the fireplace and binge watch Netflix. A short drive will bring miles of walking or biking trail, Taylor's Falls, Wild Mountain, & restaurants. We offer the best of both worlds; quiet country living within 50 minutes of downtown.
Enjoy the coziness of our beautifully decorated in-law suite. The 900 sq ft in-law suite is situated on 18 acres. The space will accommodate up to four adults and offers a full kitchen, full bath, separate bedroom, fully furnished living room with queen-size sleeper sofa, and a private entrance, all on one level. The space is furnished with a queen size bed, queen sleeper sofa, and a 55" Smart TV, that comes with Dish Network, Netflix, and Hulu. Free WiFi is available too. The kitchen is supplied with a coffee maker, pots/pans, plates, glasses, silverware, basic spices etc. For those staying four or more days we have a washer & dryer on your level. During the warmer months you can sit by the lake and enjoy the views, sit on the private patio, lay in a hammock (we have two) or enjoy the massive wood burning fire-pit. During the cooler months: enjoy a bon-fire, bring your snowmobile and ride the trails, or snuggle up and binge-watch your favorite Netflix or Hulu shows with the fireplace on! NOTE: We live upstairs and we are empty-nesters so we're pretty quiet. The backyard is shared and we have two hypoallergenic dogs (Maxx) and (Finley). We live in a quiet neighborhood so if you want a place to party, this isn't the place for you. This is a low-key, sit by the bonfire, lay in the hammock, watch a movie type of place.
We want to continue hosting guests so please be respectful of our neighbors. If you meet our neighbors and they ask, tell them you're in town for a visit and staying with David and Shelli. We live at the end of a private cul-de-sac on a beautiful little lake. We feel like we have the best 18 acres in North Branch!
  • Very cozy little place for some relaxing alone time. Loved all the homey decor. Shelli and her husband were great hosts, quick to respond to any questions.

  • A true gem. The space is private, quiet, and tranquil. Shelli and David were responsive in communication, but gave us the privacy we sought. Close to hiking (state parks) several local wineries and breweries. Definitely recommend, and we will absolutely be back.

Thoughtful amenities and a nice kitchen area. Fire place made for a cozy feel plenty of blankets and nice off street parking close to the door. Located in a beautiful neighborhood. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. 100% five stars for my stay.

Remote, tranquil, quiet and exceedingly private getaway right on the banks of a protected river, only 1.5 hours from the Twin Cities! Even the beautiful drive there is relaxing. Enter a world of peace and calm deep in the woods. Make delicious meals in a well stocked high-end modern kitchen, play in the river, relax in the sauna or enjoy a bonfire. This is not your typical cabin but a spiritual eco-oasis with a unique eclectic blend of modern, rustic, Native American and Japanese aesthetic.
UPDATE: We are paying extra attention to cleaning and sanitizing this space. Our housekeeper Joann takes great pride in making sure every surface is sanitized for your safety. I have also reduced the price to help those in need of a place to self-quarantine. This is the perfect getaway, remote yet accessible, to get out of harms way and stay safe for a few relaxing days! Modern yet rustic, but not at all primitive, the cabin was built not only for maximum energy-efficiency, but with much care in providing a safe, non-toxic, all-natural environment. Comfortable sleeping spaces are provided with several options including a small private bedroom, a large futon in the living room under the skylights by the wood stove, or a small futon on the screen porch by the banks of the river. An easy scenic drive from the Twin Cities and its extremely tranquil and private setting, this is the perfect location for personal retreats for artists, writers, yoga practitioners, people in the healing arts or anyone in need of personal, spiritual or artistic creative rejuvenation. This is ideally suited to singles and couples looking a quiet getaway or personal retreat. Perfect for a romantic getaway! The long winding driveway leads to secluded, heavily wooded grounds that have many Japanese garden touches but are kept in a mostly natural state. Facilities include a large well-stocked modern kitchen with 6 burner professional stove, full bathroom with hot and cold running water and claw-foot tub (there is enough hot water for a shower but not enough to fill the tub unless heated supplementally on gas stove), gas heat, electricity, phone, wireless high-speed internet, modern wood-burning stove, 7 skylights, wood-fired sauna, screen porch on the river bank, an attached wooden deck with gas grill along the river, a gazebo (great for yoga), hammock (great for reading/napping), a large fire-pit with lots of wood provided, photo library and a high-resolution audio system with a great CD collection and wireless music streaming capabilities. This forest oasis alongside a protected trout stream is surrounded by hundreds of heavily wooded acres. Enjoy the rarity of total privacy- no one else is within sight or sound. The Trade River is very clean with a nice shallow, sand bottom is perfect for swimming, wading or frolicking. Or just sunbathe on the dock, clothing optional! • All electricity is produced by solar farms and bought from our local electric co-op. • All cleaning supplies are natural, non-toxic, chemical and dye free. • All new linens and towels are organic cotton (some old ones still in use while we phase in) It is built to accommodate more than 2 people but I like to keep it available for solo retreats and couples rather than larger groups. There is also a separate hand-built log cabin on the premises. The log cabin will not be occupied during your stay but can be rented additionally at https://airbnb.com/h/authenticlogcabin. To maintain a retreat-like atmosphere we only allow one or two guests at a time. Also, due to past guest abuse, we no longer allow pets. If you are traveling with pets or have more than two guests please check out my other nearby Airbnb cabin: the Wood River Retreat https://airbnb.com/h/woodriverretreat "Retreat to move forward" -Pico Iyer
Located far off the road at the end of a long winding driveway. While lake cabins can be like being in a goldfish bowl with no privacy; we have total seclusion on the river with no neighbors within sight or sound. We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of forest filled with many deer, fox, owl, wild turkeys, coyotes, otters, beaver, the occasional bear and much other wildlife.
  • What a beautiful place to relax and grow! Waking up to rain on the skylights, deer drinking from the river, or wild turkeys walking across the lawn, each morning brought a new connection to nature. Truly a fantastic experience!

  • It’s hard to even know where to begin, since this was one of my favorite Airbnb stays to date! Doug’s cabin is filled with thoughtful touches that helped us have a very relaxing, restful weekend. We loved cooking meals in the well-stocked kitchen, listening to music on the super high quality sound system, and gazing out at the river while lounging on the cozy futon. The sauna and wood stove are a nice addition. Everything is so well-curated that it feels like home. Thanks, Doug!

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We've been visiting this cabin during the first week of March for 3 years now. Being less than a 1.5 hour drive from the Twin Cities, it's accessible in the winter no matter what the weather has in store. The space feels so cozy and clearly reflects host Doug's artistic and soulful aesthetic. The open floor plan has an oversized professional kitchen / dining room which opens up into a relaxing sitting area. This space has a wood burning stove, stereo and sweeping views of the river, the forest and the sky. This is a rustic retreat. You are going to be conscious of conserving water because of the noisy water pump and various notes reminding you of this endeavor. However, this is all part of the charm of the space. If you consider on-site compost, a wood burning sauna and calming spaces to meditate in as amenities (as we do), you're going to find a vacation spot that you'll want to return to indefinitely.

  • Beautiful and rare quiet, truly quiet, setting.

    Laura2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting in the woods on the serpentining Trade River. Cozy and full of spirit. We would love to stay again.

  • This was a wonderful get away from the business of life. Such a wonderful space to become one with nature and reconnect with ones self or a partner. The cabin was so unique with art, music and nature brought into to the space to help make one feel grounded & peaceful. I loved the extra’s like the yoga mats!! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful get away. Thank you.

    Kellie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • In a word. Perfect! Clean. Quiet. Beautiful. Spacious. Calming and relaxing. We took advantage of the beautiful kitchen. The wood burning stove. The sauna. The stereo system. Just a perfect getaway to relax. Unwind. Unplug. And get engaged. Literally. And figuratively. Thanks Doug. This was a wonderful experience.

Sunsets in Hot Tub, Cuddling to a Movie, Comfy Bed for Romance, Fishing. Come make yourself at home in our cabin on West Rush Lake, just 1 hour north of the Twin Cities. Get a break from the busy schedule, the to do lists and enjoy some much needed relaxation in peace and quite. Enjoy a huge screened in porch with the hot tub. Bring your pups and your kids to make more memories away from home. We would be honored to provide a get away for you to look forward to every year.
About us: HI! My name is Bree and my husband's name is Shaun. We are in our mid 30's, we have 2 kids, Mariah-7 and Emerik-5. We live in Wyoming MN which is 45 min from the cabin. Its been a life long dream to own a cabin and blessed to be able to have one. Because we have young kids, we do not get up there every weekend in the summer and not at all in the winter. We would love to be able to provide a getaway for a family or couple to enjoy fishing, hot tubing, campfires, sunsets, swimming at our cabin when we cannot. I hope you enjoy and come back again. :)
Cabin is located at the end of a short street on a dead end road. Very quiet and peaceful.
  • Great Location, Great Amenities and a quick and easy check in process. Would highly recommend to anybody looking to enjoy a great time on a beautiful lake.

  • Breanna's place is a cozy house right on the edge of a small lake with lots of peace and quiet. Plenty of beds as well as futons and couches for sleeping arrangements. All of the beds my guests used were very comfortable. Kitchen is great with a dishwasher that works well and a nice stove/oven. Hot tub was great of course, just note that the lid is heavy to open. The neighbors are within view and there are no significant trees between, but they were quiet. The house also has lots of large windows and a few sliding glass doors to let in natural light, if that is important to you.

    Golden2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • A great cabin in Rush City MN- comfortable, cozy with all the amenities! Breanna is a great host and kept in communication the entire stay :)

    Molly2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was a perfect distance from the cities and just remote enough for what we needed. There was plenty of space for activities, my dog loved the fenced in yard, and the hot tub was an added bonus!

    Abby2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Dorothy's Cabin is a perfect get-a-way from the Twin Cities. The kitchen is well-outfitted. It's a kitchen one can really cook in - plenty of pots and pans and such. We decided not to bring our own games and had a great time playing Quirkle. There are many other games in the cabinet, especially for families with children. The couch is so comfortable and cozy and looks right out onto the back yard and then lake. We delighted in watching the squirrels running along the maze of branches, and saw several different kinds of woodpeckers. (We left our games at home, but made sure to bring our binoculars!) A night hike on the frozen lake left us mesmerized by the night sky. There were plenty of towels both for showering and drying off after soaking in the hot tub. The hot tub cover is heavy, and at first we weren't sure we were up to the challenge of getting it safely off and back on. Once we got the hang of it, though, while heavy, it was totally possible. Our dogs loved their time watching "squirrel tv" out the windows, snuggling up on the couch, and playing in the living room. We had a wonderful time, made some great memories, and look forward to coming back.

  • We drove up to Breanna’s cabin for a girls getaway weekend. It was perfect. The hot tub was relaxing and the cabin had everything we needed. Breanna even worked secretly with one of the girls in our group to set up a surprise for us on our arrival. It was a perfect weekend. We will definitely rent again!

Osceola is a great small town with charming businesses and easy access to hiking, biking, and snowmobiling and ATV trails. We strive to make every newcomer welcome whether it be Airbnb guests or new neighbors—all in the name of small town hospitality. Although large box stores aren’t part of our local culture, we’re conveniently situated 10 minutes south of St. Croix Falls which offers easy one-stop shops, 30 minutes from larger towns such as Hudson, WI and Forest Lake, MN, and under 1 hour from the sprawling Twin Cities. Here’s the breakdown— One block away from laundry, two blocks from the grocery store, and a couple more from unique downtown shops, restaurants, Cascade Falls, and our very own dinner train. A few minute drive out of town to the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, Interstate Park, Wisconsin rustic scenic trails, Trollhaugen skiing and adventure park, and what Wisconsin is best known for—rolling hills and homegrown agriculture and farms. Less than an hour drive to St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota—both offering great venues for eating, shopping, and entertainment. Need more space or have more guests? I appreciated the simple, clean décor style – and what a treat to have my own garage to park in. So much to do in this small town – and most within walking distance. Restaurants, shopping, hiking – Allison has brochures and info about what’s in the area. It’s easy to understand why she is a Superhost!

Orchard House is one of three dwellings on Philadelphia Community Farm. A non-profit organization since 1989, PCF operates Buttermilk Falls CSA & Folk School Retreat. Orchard House was moved onto the property in 2003 and subsequently renovated as a place to host visiting groups. This is a century old house on a farm and all that that implies! If a natural sanctuary without all the frills is what you are seeking, you'll love this it. . Polk County ID #76756
Orchard House is an older farmhouse on a community farm surrounded by 300+ acres in conservation. Lots of natural light, a full kitchen, three season porch, wood floors and an inspiring library make this a homey stay that can accommodate a large group. Each of 3 large bedrooms is outfitted with a pair trundle bunk beds. Each of the 2 smaller room contains a trundle twin. That's 22 single beds!
Small town Osceola has the basics you'll need: grocery, liquor & hardware stores, farm-to-table restaurant, Art Barn, a minor league baseball team, bowling alley, and of course, bars (it's WI after all). There's a beautiful waterfall, Cascade Falls, in town. Osceola is not far from Trollhaugen, Franconia Sculpture Park, Interstate State Park, and several wineries.

  • What a wonderful spot! The house is quite large, all the rooms have lots of single beds so easy to accommodate many. A fully stocked kitchen, cute living room, and beautiful property to explore (with cute animals!). Christina is a great host and very communicative. A lovely place for a get together with friends. Would highly suggest! Thanks again Christina!

  • There were plenty of beds available. They were quite comfortable even being bunk beds and trundle beds. Having the large kitchen table with bench seating was nice for allowing our group of 7 to be able to eat together. Almo (the dog) greeted us warmly and didn't awaken us during the night. We would definitely consider staying here again.

    Alan2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described! This is, as described, a large, old farmhouse that accommodates many people! The kitchen had most of the things that we needed to make a meal. The heating was comfortable. Going on a hike accompanied by our canine tour guide was THE BEST, our favorite part of the visit!

  • This was perfect for our wedding weekend. The bridal party and many of our wedding guests were able to stay here comfortably. It’s a beautiful place, and our host was wonderful in providing extra linens for those traveling far. It was so great to have so many people stay here together for the weekend!

Renovated to resemble the original build over 100 years ago. Relax near the wood burning stove in the structure of shaved timbers. Hike around the creek bed on the 20 acre parcel or for the more adventurous the adjoining 50,000 acres of DNR land.
Many photo opportunities around rustic barn. Great for evening bonfire. Shooting Range for long guns or pistols. This abandoned farm is an excellent property for hunting. Please note this is a cabin, there is heated running water, but no refrigerator. Plan on bringing a cooler to keep food and beverage cold. Kuerig coffee maker is ready to go so bring your pods. There is no conventional oven, we use an electric griddle, hot plate or crockpot for cooking. These are at the property for you. There is unlimited space for setting up tents or other camping structures.
    Rural and secluded.

  • This cabin provides the perfect getaway to reset and enjoy sometime unplugged. It is a beautiful 100 year old charming cabin set on what used to be a farm. We spent time snowshoeing around the property and at Crex State Wildlife Area, stopped at the brewery in Grantsburg and did lots of reading by the fire at the cabin.

    Kari2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cozy cabin, perfect for a little getaway. The craftsmanship is wonderful, made feel a bit like you had gone back in time but with modern creature comforts. We will stay again!

  • Had a great time. It was still tough to keep it warm in the winter but there was plenty of fire wood provided

  • This place is great! My wife, dog, and I had an excellent stay. The wood burning stove kept us toast and we had a lovely hike nearby. I'd highly recommend it.

  • Lovely property and hosts. Beautiful rural setting just a quick drive to town and a much loved coffee spot (Coffee Talk). Very accommodating hosts. Roomy, comfortable, spotless apartment. And dogs. A bit bark-y at first but they are warm up quickly.

    Eliza2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Even though we never got to meet Maryjo on our stay, she still had everything ready for us. Great place to hang you hat after a day of hiking, wineries and breweries.

Our 3 bedroom, knotty pine cabin is peaceful, yet only a 45 minute from the Twin Cities. Enjoy your morning coffee on the patio, while listening to Loons. Catch sunfish, crappies, northern and bass off our dock. We supply the scenery, you supply the memories. Roast marshmallows at the fire pit. Notice how brilliant the stars are when you leave the city lights behind. Breathe. Relax and Rejuvenate.
We have wonderful memories of raising our 5 kids at the cabin. But now our babies are grown. So It's your turn to make sweet memories. We have a new dock and raft, a kayak and a row boat. A new porch and patio with tons of outdoor chairs and tables. We have the DNR spray for weeds for better swimming. We have the basics in the fridge, an ice cube maker, all the kitchen gadgets, a Keurig and a 10 cup coffee maker. Hot cocoa and tea for those inclined. All towels & bedding are supplied. Lots of comfy couches and chairs, a fireplace, T. V. 's with local channels and a Roku on the wide screen. There are Netflix and Amazon Prime on the Roku. We have WIFI for your electronic needs. Board games, books and DVD with extra movies and TV shows. Bring your sunblock, flip flops and bathing suits. Your Ready for Vacation.
Our neighbors are wonderful on both sides and down the block. There is Flick-a-birds for a great burger or Cafe Stuga for a home cooked meal. Cambridge is just 10 minutes west for groceries, eating and shopping. Mostly, you will just want to be at the cabin. So Enjoy!!
  • We certainly enjoyed our stay at Laurie's cabin. A beautiful dock, fishing boat, and kayak, made for great fishing. Fishing off the dock for sunfish is pretty steady if you have little ones. Otherwise, we brought a trolling motor and put it in the rowboat. That allowed us to go anywhere on the lake we wished. The DuKane barbecue grill works great, and the house is filled with amenities, right down to K-Cups for the Keurig coffeemaker. There was even a can of decaf for the regular drip coffeemaker, and of course, filters also. The beds were comfortable, and the cabin will easily sleep seven without using the couch. The TV in the living room gets a couple of local channels, and the one in the family room has Netflix and Amazon Prime. Along with a DVD player and CD player, there's plenty to watch on a rainy day. There are a couple of old TV's in the bedrooms that are not hooked up to anything. We enjoyed listening to the loons and great horned owls in the evening. Also, there is a red fox in the neighborhood we saw twice. Deer are also plentiful, but you must be careful for them when driving at night. We're looking forward to our next stay. Thank you Laurie.

    Roger2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful, relaxing cabin. Fun for all ages and swimming right from the dock was so clean and so much fun. The use of a floating dock, kayak and row boat just added to the fun and enjoyment.

    Kim2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and serene location. Beautiful lake to enjoy days and evenings. Love the new screened in porch!

    Denise2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Look no further! This place was superb, with plenty of space, great lake for fishing or boating, and loved the floating swim station. Highly recommend this gem, ideal for a couple or family.

  • This cabin/Home is very awesome and was beyond our expectations, a very peaceful experience, our host Laurie was very accommodating, we would highly recommend this facility!!!

    Charles2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed if you go to this hidden gem. So comfortable and relaxing. Loved the kayak and little boat but the highlight was the floating dock. Can't wait to visit again!

    Deborah2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie's place is cute and cozy! It is very quiet on the lake. We saw very few other boats and no jet skiers. Although small, the fish seemed to bite all day- even from the dock. There are plenty of places to relax, both inside and out. Everything is provided, except your personal items and food. We came home relaxed and rejuvenated !

Maplestead is an active farm near a small rural community in Northwestern Wisconsin. The farmhouse, now owned by the 5th generation of the family, was originally build at the turn of the last century and has since been remodeled. This quiet rural setting is located within an hours drive of Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. Maplestead LLC is a Polk County Licensed Property
The one level house will sleep 6, there are two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room. Large kitchen for your use. Large bay window in the living room to watch the sunrise and an enclosed patio for the sunset. Outside charcoal grill and fire pit available, we provide the wood.
  • Joan greeted us, showed us around and had everything ready for us to settle in. There wasn't anything missing or that we needed during our stay. The house was easy to find. We enjoyed our stay very much. Easy to find and so convenient to where we were staying.

    Cheryl2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • The area was beautiful! The space was very cute and homey. The history of the family was very interesting. Justin was very nice and informative of the area. Definitely a good stay and getaway!

  • A nice place out in the country. Warm hosts and an authentic farmhouse vibe.

    Jordan2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a farm house which is rustic, has plenty of space and is clean. Overall, a lovely place! We were traveling with two toddlers however, and staying in this lovely, charming house was a bit of challenge for me as there are quite a bit of (charming) decorations including porcelain, glass and hot oil diffuser lamps. The garage/entrance area is set up as a garage sale area, with lovely items and there are vases, lamps etc. in all rooms. All these decorations add to the charm of the place(!), but it also had me stay on my toes to make sure the kids did not to break anything and/or to avoid my kids getting hurt. Usually, I have no problems traveling with kids, but this cute place proved a challenge. So, it is a great place for adults, older kids, our families with ONE well-behaved kid perhaps. But not the best choice for a family with two curious toddlers. The kids loved going for walks looking at the cows, the butterflies, the birds etc (me too). The trees and the fields and the grill was lovely. The kitchen is well stocked and communication was great. So, although it was to the best choice for us perhaps due to the stress from keeping our toddles away from all those interesting things, we did enjoy our stay in many ways.

    Angelika2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was really a great place and a private get away. Feels close to nature . Justin was really a great host

    Karthik Reddy2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you enjoy being out in the country, the Maplestead Farmhouse is the place to stay. The place was clean and very well equiped. You only have to bring food and shampoo. Even though it was hot during our stay, there were plenty of fans to keep you cool without having air conditioning.

    Steve2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint house in the countryside.

    Joshua2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Justin is a fantastic host- answered questions quickly and was always very nice. The house is cute and cozy. Tons of blankets around, games to play with the family, and a nice TV. It’s a ways away from any places to eat, but they have a beautiful full kitchen so bring some groceries for when you don’t wanna drive for meals. There’s tons to do around the house, and the drive to get to those places is peaceful and scenic. The nearby towns seemed very interesting. We really enjoyed the views from the house and hearing the cows mooing every so often!! We would love to stay again if we’re in the area, and I totally recommend this stay to anybody looking!!

People who like to get away - and not have to travel too far - are pleased to know that it is only 45 minutes away from the city-centers of both Minneapolis and St. Paul. The hobby farm is child friendly as well as a great choice for individuals or couples who need a temporary get-away. We have chickens, cats, and dogs on site but rooms are pet-free.
North Branch is a small town, historically a hub for the potato and sod farmers of the area. Today it is has a thriving downtown with businesses such as The Sprouted Branch - a healthy food store; Peterson's - a garden and feed store; Pizza Pub; Rust - an occasional shop; a library; thrift stores; County Market; Shopko; North Branch Outlet Mall; Caribou Coffee and Einstein's Bagels; and many other businesses which make North Branch still a hub for town and country folk alike. The Sunrise Prairie Regional Bike Trail runs the length of North Branch and beyond, along Old Highway 61. Snowmobile trails are quite accessible. Wild River State Park and Wild Mountain ski hill and water park are 20 minutes away. Cambridge, 15 miles to the west, has Menards, Fleet-Farm, City Center Food Co-op, Cub Foods, and many independently run establishments as well. Forest Lake is 20 minutes to the south.
  • My daughters and I loved it. Jean was an excellent host and helped with any questions I had. The space was beautiful and very clean. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. It was a short drive to numerous amenities and attractions. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place that's cozy and comfortable just north of the cities.

  • This place was wonderful! It was very clean, quiet and peaceful. The host is incredible. She is very friendly, accommodating, and responsive. The rental was very clean and comfortable.

  • Jeans home was a warm and welcoming place for a relaxing girlfriend getaway. The private spaces were generously sized and comfortable. The king sized bed was so soft and cozy. I melted right into it. My friend used the futon and felt the same way, as Jean had it all made up and ready for us upon arrival. The bathroom was such a unique space that was clearly designed with love. Jean used many repurposed materials which made it so interesting. If you enjoy reading there are books everywhere. I loved being surrounded by them. The small, yet fully functioning kitchen is within the shared space but we felt we had plenty of privacy. We enjoyed having our meals in, utilizing the facilities, and lounging on the super comfy sectional sofa. We woke to snow both mornings and delighted in the lovely views from every window. The house is tucked within the trees so that you feel far away from civilization yet the road and access to cute towns and experiences aren't far away. Jean was flexible and accommodating, allowing us an extra hour to lazily pack up and head out, which I would have rather not done!! I would definitely recommend Jeans farmhouse as a wonderful option for accommodation. My girlfriend and I are already talking about coming back next year.

    Nicole2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jean's home is an eclectic residence along with a wonderful karma. Easy to find location and close to town. Jean and her daughter were fantastic hosts. We would definetly stay here again.

    Halina2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This house is better than it looks in the pictures. The residential accommodations were beautiful, well furnished and tastefully decorated. Loved the bathroom, unusual design. Jean was an amazing host, very accommodating to our needs and delayed check in, and a great conversationist.

    Raman2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Jean was so kind and friendly. Although she also was unable to be there during our check in, she still had a way for us to get in with a secure code and she made sure to greet us as soon as she was able to. There was plenty of space and there was more to do there than we even had time to explore. I would recommend Jean's place to anyone needing a nice quiet homie get away.

Our cabin offers a newly remodeled lower level for our guests. This is private and includes a bathroom with heated floors, shower and claw foot bath tub. • Vincent’s place was clean, spacious, homey, and check in and out were very convenient. And the parking lot was kept plowed during the huge snowfall so that was very nice. He was very responsive and went out of his way.

  • Great little place in a convenient location. Check in and check out were easy. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

  • What a great stay, especially for the price! I would suggest bringing something that creates white noise, especially if you’re a light sleeper. The kitchen had all utensils you would need to cook or bake, and there were 2 dressers with extra towels and linens should you need them. They gave us easy instructions to get there, and there were small instructions placed all over to find things. The place was well laid out, and spotless when we walked in. The bed was comfortable as well. We would definitely stay here again! Great small town close to the cities without staying right in the thick of things.

Our cave suite is part of Minnesota's first B&B! Formerly a saloon built in 1869, this apartment/suite is complete with a large cave that once led into tunnels connecting the saloon into a brewery. While the cave no longer stores beer, it does have a luxury bath built into it, with both a whirlpool tub and a walk in shower. This suite is perfect for a romantic getaway in beautiful Taylor's Falls. Come celebrate honeymoons, anniversaries, or just because in a beautiful and unique suite.
This is an entire apartment in the Old Jail Bed and Breakfast. We are no longer able to serve breakfast, but we give each guest a breakfast voucher for the Chisago House restaurant right across the street. This apartment is equipped with a full kitchen, along with dining area, living area, studio bedroom, and of course the stunning bath.
We are in the heart of downtown Taylor's Falls. There are restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and Interstate State Park all within walking distance. There are several wineries in the area and lots of places to stroll around and take in the scenery.
  • Lovely airbnb! Absolutely amazing view from the windows, great whirlpool tub and easy check in process. We would stay here again!

  • Very quaint place! The tub is amazing. The hosts were very kind and easy to work with.

    Alicia2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super unique place right in the heart of Taylor's Falls. I wish I could have spent more time in the room. But I imagine it would be a perfect get away in any season. There are so many cozy board games you could play in the winter and of course there is amazing hiking everywhere around the area.

    Isabel2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this suite! My husband and I stayed here for our wedding night and it was perfect. It’s such a unique space and the comfiest bed we’ve ever had!!The tub was amazing for the end of a crazy wedding day. Great communication from the owners! All went perfectly.

Lindstrom was voted #1 lake vacation spot to visit.

  • Michael's place was great. The sunrise of course was breathtaking, but the pics of the house don't do it justice. It has that warm, lakeside cabin feel that is perfect to unwind in. Perfect for a quick weekend getaway. He gave us a tour upon check-in to show us where everything was and was very quick to communicate and respond to any questions we had.

    Tom2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is delightful! Super clean with lots of nice extras. My teenagers loved the lake and the paddle boat, I loved the deck and the gas grill! Highly recommend!

    Susan2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's place was absolutely lovely. Even a bit bigger and better than I expected. My sisters and I had a great time: we enjoyed spotting herons on the lake, grilling out on the deck, curling up with some TV, and exploring nearby Lindstrom (with some helpful suggestions from the host). Michael and his helpful neighbor, Barb, were flexible with a slightly later than advertised check-in time. Everything was a breeze! Highly recommend.

    Joe2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Michael 's cabin is just as advertised. Michael is a very gracious host and made sure everything was is good order and maintained. His communication is excellent. The cabin sits on a beautiful lake near several small and interesting towns, and is very well appointed with all that one needs and some extras. We had a wonderful time and hope to return next year.

    Jennifer2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to relax and enjoy the lake. Pictures do not do it justice it is much prettier in person. Thanks again Michael!

    Brea2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing cabin! Very clean, two fridges (one in the basement for easy boat cooler packing), adorable outdoor shower, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and extremely accommodating & responsive owner! Michael was one of the nicest people we have rented a cabin from. In fact, we are renting from him twice this summer! This cabin is perfect for our family of four. Breathtaking view and the sunrise is beautiful, breakfast on the deck is a must! Our son loved catching fish off the dock. Lake is incredible with a few sandbars - north center lake connects to south center and has a pier to dock at if you’d like to pick up pizza from Pizza Pub or eat at Grumpy Minnow. Plenty of dock space at the cabin if you are bringing your boat. The Keurig and coffee pods that Michael supplied were a huge bonus! I honestly can’t say enough positive things about our entire experience here and we are looking forward to returning to celebrate the end of summer.

    Jessica2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time in this little Lake place. Michael's cabin is on a peninsula, so when you go for a walk you can see both sides of the lake. Beautiful neighborhood, and friendly Neighbors made this a relaxing time, and Michael's cabin was just right for my husband and I. We did go to Taylors Falls and took the paddle boat down the river. Beautiful! And the sunrise this morning was amazing right out the picture window of the cabin. I think we'll be back.

Perfect for those who appreciate yesterday’s handiwork, this spacious 1890 home is truly one of a kind. Slow down and relish in yesteryear as you sip coffee in a front porch rocker or bird watch from the bay window bench. We have a TV setup in the master bedroom. There is not one in the parlor because we encourage family & group bonding. We happily offer multiple board games, cards, and reading material as alternative entertainment. Message me for a 50% cleaning discount for 2 or less guests.
Built by well-to-do Dr. Combacker in 1890, this house still boasts its original woodwork and amazing craftsmanship and is furnished with pieces that complement its timelessness. Great location within walking distance to shops, groceries, and eateries Osceola is a charming small town with unique businesses and easy access to hiking, biking, and snowmobiling and ATV trails. Here’s the breakdown— One block away from Oakey Park, two blocks from the grocery store, and a couple more from unique downtown shops, restaurants, Cascade Falls, hiking trails, and the St. Croix dinner train.
  • I arrived quite late and Allison had left a light on for me with all I had to do was make a cup of tea and get a good night's sleep. Very clean. Very cozy. I felt very much at home. I used the kitchen extensively and was lacking for nothing as I cooked, worked and relaxed. A delightful stay with great internet and close proximity to my accounts and the grocery. The nice touches of local honey, seeds (to plant), and even Blueberry muffins on my departing morning, were a pleasant surprise. I felt like I was in a high end Bed & Breakfast with better care and far lower cost. I would absolutely stay again or at any of Allison's places. Well done.

Cozy cabin on Green Lake in Chisago City. Everything you need to have a romantic get away or enjoy nature and the outdoors. Private deck with lake views. This is next to our home on the 3 acre property so you have plenty of privacy and your own outdoor space in back of the cabin. You can use our dock for fishing or bring you boat and use the dock. We have been having guests here for many years. Everyone is amazed at how comfortable and peaceful everything is inside and out! Come and experience it for yourself!
Quiet neighborhood with no through traffic. Great for quiet walks and a good chance you won't see anyone else out. Only 3 miles to a small town with all amenities you would need. Groceries, gas, liquor, restaurants and a local winery!
  • The cabin is very clean and comfortable. It is located in a great location overlooking the lake. The sunrise over the lake is beautiful.

  • Experienced everything we wanted and more through Vicki and Dicks’ gracious, generous and genuine hospitality and attention to detail. We were impressed: quality furniture, linens, flooring, comfortable beds and seating, view off the deck and guest parking spot. We enjoyed kayaking (on the water like glass), the chaise lounges by the water and the grill. We loved the small-town experience and all whom we encountered made us feel as if we were locals. Close to hiking, swimming, vineyards, delicious restaurants. The attentiveness and warmth of our hosts set this memorable girls’ getaway as one of the best.

I love having the kitchen and being able to cook meals. The internet access is wonderful, our host has been responsive and very helpful!

  • Vicki and Dick are amazing hosts and their place is beautiful! Prepare yourself for a clean, beautiful space that you don’t want to leave! The view of the lake is a great thing to see every morning and ending the day with a cozy fire in the fireplace makes this the absolute perfect getaway! I can’t recommend this place (and the hosts) enough! You won’t be disappointed!

The house felt very private and comfortable, and had just about anything I could want for a quick relaxing stay- I was particularly appreciative of the full kitchen and bathroom. The hosts are very quiet folks and offered to help in any way I might need. I went out on the lake in the kayak and the sunset was absolutely gorgeous!! I will stay here again when I am in the area.

Leather couch and chair with wide selection of videos to watch. Bathroom was clean and very accommodating. Everything was spotless. Trail leads down to the dock on the lake, but we didn't have time to enjoy.

  • Pictures don't do this place justice in my opinion it's a reasonable sized one bedroom apartment that is very clean and organized. Also host very responsive at getting back to potential renters for the property.

  • We spent two night here and enjoyed our stay. Great location in the heart of Lindstrom with easy access to things. The condo was clean, comfortable and Vincent communicated well. We would stay again.

Come stay in the original jailhouse of historic Taylor's Falls! Converted into a loft apartment, this history enriched space is one of a kind. Built in 1889, it is one of the oldest original buildings in Taylor's Falls and maintains some charms of the jail... like iron bars on the main entrance and select windows! If you're gong to spend a night in jail, we'd highly recommend doing it here.
The jail is a private guesthouse off the main house of the Old Jail Bed and Breakfast, Minnesota's first B&B. While we do not serve breakfast, breakfast vouchers for the Chisago House restaurant are provided! Our suite includes full kitchen, bath, living space, and loft bedroom with two private entrances.
We are the start of downtown Taylor's Falls. There are restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and Interstate State Park all within walking distance. There are several wineries in the area and lots of places to stroll around and take in the scenery.
  • The Old Jail was a very neat, tidy, clean and unique place to stay. Had all the necessary amenities for a week or weekend getaway. Perfect location. Walking distance to all the local restaurants and bars and parks. Larry and Taylor were excellent hosts. You won't be disappointed in staying at Old Jail.

  • Everything that we expected. We would most likely make a return visit.

  • Very comfortable and unique place to stay! We booked with only an hour notice before arrival and Taylor was great and had the air conditioning turned on full so it was nice when we arrived. Really neat building...I spent most of 30 mins just looking at how it was "cribbed" together. Bed was comfortable, living room great, and having an actual coffee maker was a real plus!

  • We stayed one night with our 4 year old to explore Taylor’s Falls in the Old Jail cottage. Check in and communication was fantastic and the place was bigger and cooler than we anticipated! PERFECT for our family of 3 and a few day stay. It had enough space for us to not be on top of each other and the bed in the loft (really felt like a second floor) had glorious air and was super cozy. Walking distance to the Main Street, food, river, gas station and other historic spots. We’d absolutely come again and will recommend to others. Exceeded expectations and a fun place to say you’ve slept in. While visiting the city we went to Fawn-Doe-Rosa, Strawberry Picking at Pleasant Valley Orchard and visited the Franconia Sculpture Park!

  • The Old Jail Airbnb was PERFECT. My best friend and I went to Taylor’s Falls for a little getaway, and it was so much fun to stay in the Old Jail! It was historical with all the modern comforts that we needed (comfortable bed, mini kitchen, modern bathroom, a/c). Taylor made checking in incredibly easy for us and was very responsive to and helpful with any questions. There was a cozy bed in the loft and a futon down in the living area. Also some old games and puzzles were fun to explore. The location was perfect - steps away from shops, restaurants, bars, convenience store, state park, historical sites, and the river tour boat launch. We will probably stay here again should we return - it was such a nice spot out of the city but only an hour drive from Minneapolis. We also went to Balsam Lake to Indianhead Supper Club for dinner, which was AMAZING and felt like stepping back in time. In summary, Taylor has made a unique and comfortable spot in a historic location - not easy to do! It has been fun telling all of my friends about our stay in the Old Jail. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

  • Sweet couple, really made us feel welcomed and added some extra touches that were really nice. It was cozy on the chilly days and open and fresh on the warm days!

  • Lovely cottage! We all loved it!

  • A great place to stay! Great location close to everything - easy boat launch access, town is just minutes away, and close to several state parks and sight-seeing. Very close to the Cities! Pack and play for kiddos as well as lots of games, coloring supplies, and a play kitchen. There is a small sandy area by the dock but we found the beaches in town/nearby to be better for playing with our two year old. Some good nearby playgrounds too! Spacious living area connected to the kitchen. Huge deck overlooking the lake! Very comfortable for our family. Gas grill and lots of kitchen supplies made cooking easy. Impeccably clean, beautiful setting and landscaping. Relaxing view of the lake from the deck. Highly recommend Roger and Peg’s place!
