  • Garry & Deb's place is everything you'd expect from the listing and more. Beautiful location close to a lot of outdoor places in the mountains. Garry met us for the check in and he took our almost 3 year old daughter by the hand right away to show us the place. Very friendly host! We had a very enjoyable weekend. We liked the separation of the two rooms with the bathroom in the middle. Everything is new and very clean! And you will also get a chance for some happy puppy time, their dog Cree was waiting for us every morning at the door to say hello.

  • We so enjoyed our stay! It was close to Castle Mountain, had a little kitchen for preparing meals, came with a great outdoor space with hot tub (essential!!), and it even had a VCR with a bunch of old VHS tapes - so fun. Kevin & Jolaine were such great hosts!

  • We had a super time at the cabins, perfect size for our crew. Homey with a rustic flavour. We loved how secluded and private it was. We enjoyed the hot tub(thanks for the fresh towels!) and the fire pit. We are 2 couples and two young children, we had enough room. The kids had a great time exploring the woods and playing in the snow. Thanks for everything!

  • Amazing little cabin that has it all. About a 50 minute drive to Waterton. Great roads. Cabin is so nice, comfortable, and spotless. We had breakfast one morning and it was fresh and delicious. Hot tub, bbq, and outdoor fire pit. Even some movies to watch in the room. Ample parking, steps from the cabin. Very safe area. Loved it.

Make this your starting point for Castle Provincial Park and Waterton National Park. Great for hiking, skiing, fishing and beautiful scenic mountain views and drives. Located right at the corner of Beaver Mines. Great food and drinks at the Beaver Mines General Store. Room has coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave and toaster.
We have our own Bear Hug soap made by Fugly Soap Factory. The hamlet has not received the promised water yet so we are still hauling in water. We would appreciate our guests to be water conscious. We also use Lampe Berger between guests for antiviral and antibacterial properties. All bedding/linens are taken to commercial washer in Blairmore
  • The thought that was put into the little details, such as the breakfast bar, was unexpected and made our stay just that much more comfortable. The space was very clean and cozy, which we greatly appreciated. Thank you for your hospitality!

Castle Gateway Retreat is an ideal spot for those who want a quick 20 min drive to Castle Mountain Resort or a 25 min drive to Pass Powderkeg to enjoy either winter or summer activities. Waterton is a reasonable 45 min drive away, so very accessible for planning day hikes. The retreat is a private 2 bedroom area with a large living space complete with a pool table, TV, and piano! There is a private entrance to the area, so it is convenient to come and go.
There is not a full kitchenette available, but there is a bar fridge, microwave, coffee pot, kettle, crock pot and a few dishes and cutlery to help you with some simple meals. Whats missing? There is no kitchen sink, cook top or oven.
I'm located in the Hamlet of Beaver Mines, so it is important that you have your own transportation. There is a store very near by that provides gas, basic groceries, meals, and alcohol. The park behind the store has a playground, horseshoe pit and tennis court. Pincher Creek is a 15 min drive east of the hamlet.
  • It’s a beautiful place very well maintained space in the middle of the woods. Feel relaxed.

  • Great location to Crowsnest, as well as close to the highway, this beautiful getaway in Beaver Mines was a wonderful way to spend a weekend for Sinister 7. Kim’s space and area was great to get prepped for race day, and the bed and shower were just what I needed. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our time and it’s on my radar for next year’s race. Thanks again for everything, Kim.

Trout Wrangler Lodge is perched on the banks of the Crowsnest river in beautiful Southern Alberta. Whether you're into fishing, hiking, skiing, snow shoeing or just laying in a hammok listening to the river, our Lodge is the place for you..... did i mention fishing and hiking?! The patio outside the rooms has a large table and benches for socializing and a fire pit to just sit and enjoy the night sky or sing a couple of songs. Whatever you like to do its more fun at Trout Wrangler Lodge.
Your room walks out onto our large Patio with hammoks, tables for socalizing and a large firepit for relaxing and watch the star filled sky.... or roasting marshmellows. With the river right in front of the Lodge, fishing and hiking are only miniutes away (actually less than a miniute, I timed it) Our Lodge is heated completely by geo-thermal heat and we have no natural gas on the property.
Because we are located in the middle of the Crowsnest pass in Southern Alberta, acess to all the major tourist attractions, hikes, ski hills and rivers are only minutes away in any direction. Whether it's skiing/snowboarding, fishing, hiking, museums, National Parks or just enjoying the Crowsnest Pass Trout Wrangler Lodge is the perfect starting point for a full day of adventure. The Lodge is on 10 acres and has plenty of Saskatoon/Huckleberry bushes for picking when they are in season. For those that love to fish (like me) the river is less than a 1 minute walk away and the fishing is great right in front of the Lodge
  • This was our second stay at Trout Wrangler Lodge within three months. We absolutely love everything about this special accommodation: the well-appointed lodge, located close to all local amenities, sits high over the Crowsnest River which is teeming with Rainbow, Cutthroat, and Bull Trout; the surroundings are spectacular and breathtaking; the lodge itself is inviting, impeccable, and oh, so comfortable. Every single item that a guest would need or want is ready and waiting to be enjoyed. Larry is a Super-host for good reason. He is fri

Built in the 1900's, this historical building is near Provincial Parks, Castle Resort, fishing, hiking, biking and fishing. Your host is a gourmet chef and you can't go wrong with the hospitality and company Stella's Inn is famous for. This is a lower, fully equipped two room suite :)first room queen and 2 single beds...second room is set up with a queen bed ...breakfast lunch or dinner upon request ...reservations please...
Stella's is a diamond in the rough! Set in the foothills of southern Alberta you have a marvellous view and mountain or prairie adventures at your fingertips. Pet friendly ( additional cost)
  • Amazing, from start to finish. Lots of space for three of us in the basement. Susan was a great host on all fronts, and took the experience to new levels at dinner. VERY GOOD LAMB. Beautiful old building, so expect some creaks! If you're experiencing this area for the first time, be mindful that it can also sometimes be quite windy. Thanks Susan! Hope to visit again before too long.

    Dustin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our three-night stay at Susan's place! Very charming, super clean, comfortable, and loved the rustic/chic decor as well as the hot tub and bowl of chocolates. Susan was quick to reply to our questions and even offered to help us find ski passes (we already had them from the Powder Alliance network but appreciated the offer). Other reviewers have mentioned the ceiling height, and yes, we are 5'10" and 5'8" respectively so we didn't suffer but our taller friends might have skinned their noggins. The stairs to terrific bathroom (loved the shower as well as the colors) were no problem for us but, as clearly stated, not appropriate for mobility-impaired guests. We cooked all our meals in-house, and if you are planning to cook your own meals, just be sure to check in with Susan ahead of time about your specific needs. The kitchen was stocked well for our meals for two people but you might need to borrow an extra pot or skillet if cooking something more elaborate or for more bodies. I'm positive she'd be happy to bring you whatever you need because she's just that kind of person :) Thanks, Susan!

We hope to be back many times. Terri and Garry are tremendous hosts and readily shared anecdotal accounts of their travels in the Crowsnest Pass. This was valuable to us as we were somewhat unfamiliar with a good portion of the South region of Alberta. We highly recommend Terri and Garry’s place if you are ever traveling in this area.

  • Terri and Garry were wonderful hosts! Their property offers a beautiful, private lower floor to stay in with its own private entrance/exit. Directions to the place were clearly laid out and they welcomed us despite our late arrival time. It was sparkling clean and a very comfortable bed. In the morning, we sat out with coffee on the private lower deck looking into the foothills, it was absolutely beautiful. Can't wait for our next opportunity to stay!

  • This was a quaint little mountain hideaway! Beautiful scenery, quiet and cozy.

    C2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • There are many beautiful places to visit in a 10-30 min radio. The place is spacious, clean and cozy, and the view is beautiful. Amazing place, amazing scenery, amazing hosts, amazing price. We recommend Terry and Garry’s place 100%.

  • Wonderful hosts who responded quickly to welcome us a day earlier due to not being able to find accommodations in Glacier NP. But we were glad we stayed an extra night in this beautiful home. We got to spend a full day in Waterton which is about an hour away. And visit one of my favorite places, Lundbreck Falls.

    Jeannette2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Terri and Garry were wonderful hosts. Very personable and friendly and had great conversations. Wished we had more time to chat but when we plan a Castle snowboarding trip we will definitely consider this place again. It was better than expected...the pictures did not do it justice. We had everything we needed to relax and rest after long days. Love the extra touches such as coffee and tea, chocolates, kitchenware and even some toiletries if you forget anything and board games....list goes on. Lovely property with a beautiful view. Wished we had more time to spend on the patio. We did spot a deer on 2 occasions. Very clean and had the comfort of home. Thanks again!

Trout Wrangler Lodge is perched on the banks of the Crowsnest river in beautiful Southern Alberta. Whether you're into fishing, hiking, skiing, snow shoeing or just laying in a hammok listening to the river our Lodge is the place for you... did i mention fishing?! The patio outside the rooms has a large table and benches for socializing and a fire pit to just sit and enjoy the night sky or sing a couple of songs. Whatever you like to do its more fun at Trout Wrangler Lodge.
Your room walks out onto our large Patio with hammoks, tables for socalizing and a large firepit for watching the star filled sky.... or roasting marshmellows. With the river right infront of the Lodge fishing and hiking are only miniutes away (actually less than a miniute, i timed it) Our Lodge is heated by geo-thermal heat and there is no natural gas on the property
Because we are located in the middle of the Crowsnest pass in Southern Alberta, acess to all the major tourist attractions, hikes, ski hills and rivers to fish are only minutes away in any direction. Whether it's skiing/snowboarding, fishing, hiking, museums, National Parks or just enjoying the Crowsnest Pass Trout Wrangler Lodge is the perfect starting point for a full day of adventure. The lodge is on 10 acres of prarie grassland and has plenty of Saskatoon/Huckleberry bushes for picking when they are in season. For those that love to fish (like me) the river is less than a 1 minute walk away and the fishing is great right in front of the Lodge.
  • The view is amazing. Larry is great host. He provided comfortable room and many routes seeing beautiful view. I still choose Larry’s house again next time.

  • I cannot say enough positive things about the airbnb itself, the stunning location, or the above and beyond hospitality displayed by Larry. If you are ever in the area, or even considering visiting the region, Larry's airbnb was easily a highlight of my stay. 10/10

    Tristan2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Larry’s place, and it was everything we had hoped for and more! The views are stunning, the rooms are sparkling clean, and Larry is a fantastic host. The area around Crowsnest Pass is beautiful, and filled with lots of hidden gems. We hope to be back once more!

    Caitlin2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The views in the place are amazing as well as the drive there! Our favourite time was stargazing on the hammock. Larry was an excellent host and made us feel comfortable and right at home. It was easy to communicate with him and check in was simple. Really cool place!

  • We very much enjoyed our stay at Anja's place. Very nice and clean accommodation in a beautiful setting with wonderful hospitality. Our only disappointment was having to leave. We hope to come again.

    Bruce2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best I ever been. I don’t usually give a 5 stars rating but this place deserve it without a doubt.

    Clovis2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Anja’s magical mountain hideaway... We are a family traveling with two young children and stayed for two nights whilst skiing at Castle Mountain. Driving up to Mountain meadows felt like coming home in the best possible way, when you walk into the living area you feel warm and at hole, Anja has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could need for a self catering getaway. The twin room was perfect for our little one’s but is stylish and comfortable to suit two adult travellers as well. The bed in the master was incredibly comfortable and waking up to the mountain view was priceless. The only negative was that we couldn’t stay longer and that we didn’t have more time to get to know Anja as she really is a truly inspirational lady who is the most thoughtful host. Recommending to lots of friends and hope to come back in the summer for some more adventures in the beautiful area.

    Lauren2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Anja's place is a gem. Anja is extremely thoughtful in her approach to having guests. She is so welcoming and accommodating. The place is warm and comfortable, extremely clean and well stocked. It was one of our most relaxing stays. The views out the front windows are stunning. We are looking forward to returning next year.

    Michael2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • From beginning to end of our stay, Anja was the perfect host. She was there to meet us on checkin, and provided many welcoming touches including tea, coffee and muffins. The accommodation was sparkling clean, beds very comfortable, and the whole place was warm and private. What a view! We couldn’t have wished for more restful comfort! Anja took care to plough the snow from the lane way to make it easy for us to come and go during our stay. We hope to return soon

    Marion2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Anja is so kind and thoughtful. I will definitely book with her again!

    Natalie2019-09-28T00:00:00Z

  • Anja, our stay with you in September was just sooooo lovely! From the splendour of your home's natural surroundings to the grace of your hospitality, Beaver Mines a la Anja will be remembered as an adventure of welcome and wonder. My kids and I are already scheming up ways that we can return with my husband to again see and experience your gorgeous little piece of Southern Alberta. Thank you for all the 'little' things that made our stay a 'huge' gift...Sheri, Wyatt (age 11) & Aurora (age 9), Cochrane, AB

  • Hawkin is a fantastic host, my family feel privileged to be his first air bnb in such an amazing location. The views are fantastic and the trails on the property are worth the walk would love to see what the place looked like in the summer. If off grid is what you are after then this is the place 4wd definitely recommended. It is an extremely cozy cabin that suited the needs of our family and is extremely spacious. One of the best things about the area was no phone signal so you can really enjoy the area. Recommend waking up in the early hours and look out at the stars from the balcony one of the best night skies we have ever seen.

Lots of nature activities nearby and some short beautiful nature walks located on the property. The hosts were more than accommodating and ensured I had everything I needed to make my stay relaxing and comfortable. Would recommend.

  • A wonderful place to stay from where to launch daily excursions to various places of interest in South West Alberta. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook our own meals. The gas BBQ on the deck was a bonus as well. There's a general store nearby where the ice-cream is really good! Would recommend folks to visit a supermarket before their stay because the nearest one is about a 20km drive.

Very basic cabin made from two grain silos in the foothills of Alberta. You are guaranteed to see nobody. The amenities are basic. Bring your own bedding and drinking water. There is a wood stove, propane stove and wash sink. The outhouse has a good view.
There are often cows nearby. Deer for sure and maybe bear, elk or cougar.
There is a new tap house in Lundbreck that has good food and great beer.
  • This little cabin is awesome! If you are looking for a quaint little place to stay as you explore the surrounding areas this place is perfect. The outhouse was not smelly until we used it for a few days. There is no shower there but just down the road in Pincher Creek you can use the showers at the public pool for only $2. The wood stove is amazing and we used it lots to cook our meals but there was a propane cook stove as well for little things that you don't want to start up the full wood stove. The solar power worked great and we had enough power for all the things we needed, just lights for reading and such in the evenings and to run the small fridge. There are some amazing views from the property, we spent an entire morning exploring the property and I highly recommend to. Rob is an awesome host and gave us some cool tips for places to see and explore and was very hospitable and kind.

Pincher Creek No. 9, AB, Canada

Beautiful and rustic family cabin located in the Heart of the Rockies, 25 minutes Southwest of Pincher Creek, Alberta. This cabin is less than an hour drive from several amazing tourist destinations including Castle Provincial Park, Castle Mountain Ski Resort, Frank Slide Interpretive Centre, Waterton Lakes National Park and Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump. It is surrounded by breathtaking views, and is located in a beautiful ranching environment, and at times cattle will be grazing here.
Our cabin is nestled into a beautiful meadow at the base of the Rocky mountains in the Gladstone Valley 30mins west of Pincher Creek and only 30 mins from Castle Mountain Resort. It is a very private location with endless exploring opportunities right from your door step. The cabin has had many interior renovations and we are ever so close to having it completed, but it still isn’t perfect but our guest have said they really enjoy the space. It has been a labour of love for our family. Our guest have shared with us that it is very welcoming and feels like home. There is a newly installed gas fire place and wood stove. Our next project are new windows, upper loft stairs and a big beck. even without these touches the cabin is a little piece of heaven.
Our cabin is 15 mins from the Hamlet of Beaver Mines, which has a small general store and gas and 30 mins from the town of Pincher Creek which has all amenities. Castle Mountain Ski Resort is 35 mins to the west and Waterton is 1hr to the south.
  • An amazingly private location surrounded by incredible scenery. The accomodation itself was superb complete with all the amenities and comforts. Eliza and Adam were fantastic hosts and keep the place in great condition. We have every intention of returning. A must anytime of the year.

  • A true country retreat. We live it here and will keep coming back.

  • A beautiful setting to relax or ski. The house is well laid out and the hosts are very thoughtful and welcoming.

  • We rented this "cabin in the woods" with another couple over a long weekend in November for some much needed rest and relaxation. Adam sent us a "pin" for google maps and this was great for finding his place. They have done a lovely job of renovating and fixing up this old log cabin and more recent addition. There is minimal cell service at the house, so we could stay in touch with the world through text, but otherwise we were happy to "unplug"! We read our books, made a puzzle, walked through the woods and just stared out the window while enjoying the warmth from the wood stove. Adam and Eliza provide games, movies, puzzles and other activities to pass the time. The kitchen has spices and all the dishes and utensils you need, although I'd recommend packing along a good cheese grater and maybe some sauce pans if you need them for your menu. We were also glad we brought along our own roaster. There are plenty of roads and paths to follow in the woods and a darling little pond that would lovely to sit by and enjoy the scenery and wildlife in the summer months.

  • The house is in a bit of an isolated area, but the pay off is the spectacular views of the nearby mountains and the incredible night sky. The house was spacious and lovely inside, a real rustic Canadian experience. The downstairs area was amazing for our kids who loved all of the toys and games. We really enjoyed our stay while visiting family nearby.

  • OMG the views are breath-taking. It is well worth searching this place out. Adam and Sara were great hosts, the cabin was large and charming, we loved sinking into the comfy sofas and beds, and the views, did I mention the views? And the wildflowers!! Do bring mosquito repellent with you.

    Margot2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Adam and Eliza’s place! The location is serene, with beautiful views all around. We also loved the feel of the log cabin, and found it incredibly cozy and relaxing. The space is also setup nicely for kids. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

  • If you're looking for a great place to unwind and get away from the hustle of city life, there's no better place. This place is truly a piece of paradise. Adam and Eliza were wonderful. They were able to give great info on the area and provided an easy laid back experience. We'll definitely be back!!!!

  • Great place to stay if you’re doing anything in The Pass. Room was spacious and comfy. They have in-floor heating so we were always warm. Joni was easy to get in contact with and met us when we arrived. I will be keeping them in mind for when I decide to come back!

  • Joni is a lovely person (we unfortunately didn't get to meet Brian). She made sure we were comfortable and did a great job letting us know where everything was. This room is perfect for a short stay. There is a coffee machine, a bar fridge, and packages of slippers for guests (the floor is quite cold). There is no tv in the room, just something to note if that is what you are looking for. The views are amazing from the home and the location is right next to Spring Break Flower Farm which we had an event at so worked out well for us. Thank you!!!
