Places to stay in Bantry
Beautiful wooden chalet overlooking Bantry Bay on the Sheeps Head. Within 2 miles of the town centre and all its amenities. Designed for people craving an idyllic setting to relax in peace, but close enough to all the attractions Bantry has to offer. We pride ourselves on providing a genuine and thoughtful experience for our guests.
The Cabin is a beautiful, welcoming natural space that is always warm and bright. Situated on the famous walking path; The Goats Path and The Wild Atlantic Way. The cabin is off the main road and enjoys a peaceful and tranquil setting overlooking the sea. It is within two miles of Bantry and one mile from The Westlodge Hotel and Leisure Centre.
Our neighbourhood is so nice and peaceful, we are on the Beach/Dromcloc road which is adjacent to the main road, which means we don't have the traffic of other roads. A ten minute scenic walk in one direction and you arrive at the airstrip with it's breathtaking views and ocean-side walk into town. Whilst going five to ten minutes in the opposite direction you arrive at a secluded seaside beach fed by an ambling river. You couldn't ask for more.
  • This is a great, quirky, comfortable place to stay. The location is fantastic, with amazing views over the water. It is actually better than the photographs show. Inside is colourful and full of character. Bean and Irene were very welcoming and communication was good. We had a lovely two days exploring locally. Recommend Healy’s Pass for fabulous views.

  • This cottage is fabulous. We arrived during storm Dennis in Feb 2020 to lovely cosy log burners waiting for us. It was a perfect base to explore South West Ireland, just 5 minutes into Bantry, with pubs, restaurants, shops & a decent sized Lidl giving us everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, lots of room to spread out as a family downstairs. Jerome quickly responded to any queries & provided plenty of wood to keep us warm for the week. The cottage was very clean & tidy & the WiFi worked well. Very little phone coverage (which was great) I would highly recommend this cottage, Jerome & the West coast of Ireland to anyone wanting a real break from it all. The 18 inch thick walls of the cottage kept all the wind & rain out too.

    Carol2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay in idyllic farm cottage in easy distance from the lovely town of Bantry. Very spacious and cosy in the evenings with the wood burner. We had a fantastic time.

    Emma2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice quiet house, well equipped, spacious. A large plot, a stove, nothing to complain about.

  • A lovely home even for a winters stay. Great craic around the fire in this gem of a place. We appreciated the heating was switched on before we arrived as well as the tidy directions.

    Kevin2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jerome's place is an awesome place to stay. Before we arrived, we got given a whole load of great tips of things to visit and some directions which made finding the place easy. The place is really cosy, particularly with the fire going. The view from the balcony is incredible.

  • This place was lovely and a great location. Thomas is lovely and extremely accommodating, we arrive to fresh milk, butter, cheese, bread and eggs. The rooms were comfortable and the home is nice and cosy. Very happy with out stay 😊

    Ellena2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the house. Unfortunately we were unlucky with the weather (storm Ciara), but it was precisely because of that it was nice to have a comfortable house with a sitting area, fireplace, well-equipped kitchen and stocked fridge. You are a short walk from the center of the town with many shops, pubs and even a cinema (which we gratefully used). If you are in season, then a visit to Bantry House & Gardens is definitely recommended. It is a beautiful house and you have a beautiful view of the house and the bay in the garden. And of course the peninsulas are definitely worth a drive. In short: we can definitely recommend this stay in Bantry.

    Marlene2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location a short walk from the town and spacious, comfortable house with everything I could possibly need - its excellent value for the price. Thomas is a great host, very attentive, and Bantry is a lovely town. I will definitely be back :)

The house is very comfortable, spotlessly clean and has everything we needed. It's also ideally located in quiet neighbourhood with parking right outside the front door and the shops in the centre of Bantry only a short walk away.

The house is open plan downstairs consisting of a kitchen, sitting area and a bathroom with shower. Upstairs there is bedroom and a small bathroom. The space is very bright and airy. There is a back yard and garden to sit out in after a day trekking around. There is a good internet service within the house. The kitchen is fully equipped for those who like to self cater. It is really convenient to the main street, sea walk and public transport services.
The pull out couch is very comfortable. There is plenty of room for two children and enough room for two adults but ideally it should just be for one person for comfort reasons
The house is a two minute walk to the sea and town. They are lovely walks all around which include Bantry House, Glengarrif, Garnish Island. There are great restaurants in Bantry which are reasonably priced.

  • I really can’t thank Damian & Valerie enough for making our stay so special. We booked Seascape as a surprise for my Dads 70th Birthday. Their kindness and hospitality are second to none with many special touches throughout the property but the beautiful cake, bubbles and celebratory balloon were far beyond expectation upon our arrival. The property is even nicer than the photos suggest, the views are breath taking and the furnishings and decor are spot on. I could happily move in permanently! Bantry and Co Cork in general are really beautiful, I would recommend everyone to visit & enjoy the warm hospitality of Damian & Valerie at Seascape x

    Sara2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely family week in Seascape, it is a beautiful property with all amenities and lovely and clean! Damian and Valerie were great hosts and really helped make it a great stay. This is a traditional Irish farmhouse in a rural area, with a spacious and comfortable spare room. We are working artists - you will be welcome to visit our studios - and we live with two cats and two small, friendly and clean dogs. We offer a breakfast of cereal, toast and tea or coffee and will welcome you into our home as guests. (We are 8 km/5 miles from Bantry, and a 15 minute walk from the 236 bus route)
This is a family home to which we welcome friendly guests who share our love of animals and the West Cork countryside. It would be a lovely place for a writer or other creative to have a short retreat.
We live in an area of outstanding beauty, just off the Wild Atlantic Way, with sea, rivers, mountains and woods all within easy reach. We are only 10 minutes drive from Bantry with its good range of shops, restaurants, cafes, and festivals, and five minutes from the coast. The Sheep's Head, Beara and Mizen peninsula's are all within easy reach.
  • Staying at Catherine and Tom’s was a highlight of my multi-day trip through the west of Ireland. We had such wonderful and meaningful conversation. They gave me some great suggestions for sights to see that were not in my original plan. I highly recommend staying with them in their lovely traditional farmhouse if you want an authentic back to basics Airbnb experience!

Dromforde offers you beauty and style. Dromforde gives you the privacy of 2 very comfortable bedrooms, private shower room and WC, sitting room/dining room with wood burning stove, with your own private entrance. There are beautiful gardens. We are around to help in any way we can. Perfect for vacation or a work visit with open WiFi access. There is Nespresso coffee and tea making, there are no cooking facilities.
While Dromforde offers you your own appartment space( It is part of our home that was the old Farm House) we are only a B and B. Dromforde is truly a place to pause and tarry awhile, relax, breathe and let Ireland come to you. Please note how many reviews say that they wished that they had booked for more than 1 night! We hope you will enjoy the real experience of an original West Cork Farmhouse in exceptional style and charm surrounded by the beautiful furnishings gathered by Brigid and Bill through a life's work in design and decor. We are just a family house but offer you part of our beautiful home. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do. We are of course on the very best part of the Wild Atlantic Way! Dromforde has been sympathetically restored with its exposed beams and low ceilings maintaining its integral history and character. We Have been featured in both '25 Most Beautiful Homes' and House and Homes' magazines which featured the house and gardens. You will have a separate entrance and stair case to your own private landing giving off to one room in which we can either give you a double bed (6' wide) or twin beds and another beautiful little single bedroom. This room will be ideal for a third member of your group. Between these rooms is the shower and WC. We only let the rooms together. You have your own private sitting / dining room with wood burning stove to relax in after your day out seeing what this lovely part of Ireland has to offer, this is where we serve you breakfast until 9.30am. Sadly we now realize that the architectural age of Dromforde does not make it a safe place for crawling babies or Toddlers and young children as we have low Windows and a twisting staircase. Please would you talk to us before booking with children? We have had guests from all over the world and really welcome the mix of ideas and cultures they bring to us We both enjoy cooking and eating and will promise you a good breakfast with the very best fresh fruit salad, fresh coffee or tea, our home made bread, marmalade and preserves with local honey. • Very hospitable stopover in a gorgeous, tranquil setting

  • A beautiful, warm and cozy home with a wonderful garden, close to one of Ireland’s most amazing parts. Brigid and Bill are both outstanding and very helpful hosts who take care of their guests and who love where they live and therefore are able to show their guests the best places to visit, see, dine at. I can only recommend to stay at Dromforde - and not just for a couple of nights.

    Palma2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Brigid and Bill are lovely, a good chef for breakfast and their farm is like a cocoon. I really recommand their accomodation

  • Bill and Brigid were wonderfully kind and hospitable hosts. They offered great local tips and were so helpful leading up to and during our stay. The house is beautiful and wonderfully kept and we were very cosy and comfortable throughout our visit. We found that the location was perfect for exploring South/West Cork and appreciated the local food tips. I would recommend this Property to anyone looking to explore this beautiful part of Ireland and you wont find better hosts!

  • Realy good stay. Perfect place to stay in a beatifull surrounding! Bill and Briged are really experts to give you a plesant stay!

    Dirk2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • B and B’s B&B was one of the best we have experienced in the world. The authentic farmstay accommodation was large, spacious and private, with its own working fireplace as well as central heating. Tastefully decorated, comfortable bed, quiet and serene. Located in rural West Cork it is an easy 10 minute drive into lively Bantry which has great eating places including the Fish Kitchen. Bill and Bridget were helpful hosts pointing us to great tourist sites in this picturesque and dramatic region. The stay well exceeded our expectations and we would definitely return.

    Ashley2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 2 days with Bill and Brigid. It is a great, very nice place. The accommodation is very comfortably furnished. The double bed is very large and has a good mattress. The place is a great starting point for many excursions. Next time we would book more nights. Bill and Brigid are very accommodating hosts. The breakfast is great. Everything is highly recommended!

  • The room and bathroom were very clean. Communication and check-in were super easy. In the middle of the sweet place Bantry. The ride in the dark is a bit adventurous;)

  • A lovely place to stay.

    Aidan2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely spot, the room was immaculate and really close to local amusements.

    Emmet2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Christine’s rooms are artfully put together, a beautiful colour palette with a classical and ageless feel to them. The bedding supplied is lovely, the bathroom, bright modern and airy with a beautiful view of an old graveyard. There is a kettle, tea, milk and cutlery and cups/plates. Communication was effortless and quick with Christine. Location wise it’s a two minute walk to the centre of Bantry plus it’s next door to a very contemporary and welcoming cafe. It’s a perfect choice particularly if you want to go out in Bantry at night and do not want to worry about driving home at night afterwards. If you are traveling by public transport it also makes perfect sense, three or four minutes walk from the bus stop.

This is an old and carefully renovated cottage in a pretty, small harbour town. The fantastic countryside and coastal walks of the Sheep’s Head, Mizen Head and Beara peninsulas are easily reached from the cottage. Bluebell Cottage is detached and lies on a quiet road a few minutes walk from beautiful Bantry Bay and the town centre, where there are shops, pubs, restaurants, banks, a cinema and a very good outdoor market every Friday.
The cottage was built in the early 19th Century and is reputedly the oldest in Bantry. We renovated it a few years ago and fitted new doors, floors, roof and windows while retaining as much as possible of the original character. There are wood floors throughout and a large kitchen diner to seat six. The kitchen has a dishwasher, oven, hob, washing machine, tumble dryer and Stanley traditional range cooker. The cosy but spacious living room will seat six and has a coal/log fire. The futon sofa will convert to a single bed and there is an additional guest mattress. There are three bedrooms, two double and one single. The single bedroom is accessed through one of the double bedrooms. The bathroom has a large cast iron bath and a shower, and an immersion heater for hot water. All the bedrooms have pleasant views of the countryside of West Cork. Outside there is a patio enclosed by a ‘living wall’ full of flowers and birds nests. Upstairs is a sunny roof terrace with views over Bantry.
West Cork is a very beautiful part of Ireland but doesn't suffer from the coach-loads of tourists you get in Kerry and Galway. Lots of things to see and do but this is genuine rural Ireland, not a synthetic tourist destination.
  • A charming cottage, perfect both as a base for exploring the local area or just kicking back and relaxing in front of the range. Highly recommended.

    David2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a special place to stay! Warm, comfortable and full of character, Bluebell Cottage is an ideal base. Easy walking distance to the town centre and free parking are welcome. Plus access to an a-maz-ing collection of books, movies and music means you'll be constantly entertained even if the weather is poor. A fantastic house, we really enjoyed staying here.

    Andrew2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice stay in the cottage which is lovely and very comfortable. Staying inside while Irish weather forced us to was a pleasure!

  • Robert’s place is so cozy and homie with a great location in Bantry! We were able to walk back and forth from the house to town in 5-7 min. The wood trim in the house makes you feel nice like you’re in a cabin , the outside space is so zen and the quietness if the space allowed us to sleep like babies. The check in process was so simple and convenient. Thank you Robert and Zora for all your hospitality. We def will be back.

    Laura2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Bluebell cottage. We were a stone throw from town and especially Organico a wonderful restaurant. The house was very cosy and quaint. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Hope to return in the future!

  • What a gorgeous little find in the lovely Bantry Bay. Robert's cosy cottage is home from home with everything you need from comfortable beds and fresh linen, through to a welcoming bottle of delicious red wine. My family and I had a great stay, communication throughout was spot on and we're already planning our return visit to Robert's next year! Thanks again and don't hesitate to book here, you won't be disappointed.

    Mark2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Robert shared a fab cosy cottage with us in an EXCELLENT location. Bantry was a perfect base for us to visit many other fab sites in West Cork and if you like cottages you will love this. We will come again for sure. Everything we needed was in the cottage and communication could not have been better.

  • Our stay at Paulines Cottage was very nice. The view from the terrace is gigantic and the house is located in a nice, a little bit more remote area. The cottage was clean and well equipped. Pauline is a great host and made sure we did not miss anything. Her family is also very nice, as is her collie. We felt very comfortable.

    Michael2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was wonderful. We didn't have great weather so we were happy to come home to such a cozy place. Pauline was so nice and welcomed us with delicious home made honey and tomatoes from her garden. The area has an interesting history, a beautiful scenery and is relaxing!

  • This cottage is really lovely - it sits just up above a beautiful bay and you can see the sea from the lovely deck area. It is really handy for Bantry and Glengariff and surrounding areas and the scenery everywhere is just gorgeous. It has everything in it that you need for a great stay including the friendliest host in West Cork - Pauline was so welcoming and helpful in every way! We had a great stay - Bantry is a fabulous town - if you want a really nice lunch go to Organico - we went four times!

    Louise2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline welcomed us even though we were running late. She even had fresh flowers, milk and fresh salad from her garden waiting for us. At the house everything was like described and we weren’t missing a thing. There’s even a smart tv and the WiFi works just perfect. Towels, washing machine, parking space, it was just like being home. Pauline is a great host and we would definitely recommend staying at hers.

  • We had a lovely stay at Ann’s place. So secluded and peaceful. Had never seen this part of West Cork. Bed was clean and cosy. Even got to meet the calves next morning! Would recommend a visit if you’re ever in this part of the world.

    Emer2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ann’s place is down a coupla boreens with grass growing up in the middle of the road and twists and turns to keep you alert while getting there but it’s worth it! (Just 15mins by car from Bantry). The quiet, quaintly old-fashioned home is really attractive compared to today’s new house designs and Ann’s welcome is so warm, friendly and authentic; that’s before you get to hear about and see all the stone structures on her farm... well worth a visit, great value and highly recommended!

  • A perfect location for exploring beautiful Bantry, and the Lidl right next door was very handy for getting our shopping since we were on foot! The house itself had everything we needed, and a nice old-fashioned country feel to it. We loved the kitchen and bathroom, the bedrooms and sitting room could do with a few extra touches to make them a bit cosier (pictures on walls/lamps etc.) but no major issues at all. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Mícheál but he was very helpful, sending on useful information from the time we booked to the time we arrived. He also has a number of leaflets on local spots to visit laid out in the house which was a nice touch and helped us make the most of our trip. Would highly recommend and hope to return!!

  • The apartment is in a perfect central location to enjoy Bantry on foot. The space is clean, stylish and has everything you need. We were left breakfast things as well as all the essentials you would expect in the kitchen. This was a very nice touch especially the fabulous bread that we devoured in one day!! The heater warmed the place up nicely, and the shower is spacious clean and powerful. Communication from the host was excellent, friendly and attentive. We will definitely book this place again when we return to play music in Bantry soon. Would recommend to anyone who likes home comforts and artistic style when on holiday or visiting Bantry. The floors mattress was super comfortable and all the bedding was of very high quality. You won’t be disappointed if you book this place !!

We're offering a bright and spacious double bedroom in our house on the outskirts of Bantry, West Cork. My husband and I live in the house full-time with two cats, but love to welcome guests! You'll find our house cosy and comfortable.
Our house is a spacious detached country house with lots of landscaped lawns and a river on the property. We have ample parking at the property. We're located close to the town of Bantry and yet the area is peaceful and secluded. There are lovely walks and beaches nearby. We only let one room in our house on Airbnb, meaning you'll have all the facilities for your exclusive use and a restful stay.
We're located in the townland of Gurteen. It is very quiet, with only a few neighbours. You will often meet walkers along the quiet roads taking in the country air. Though we are not directly on the water, you can see the sea from our front door, and we are a short bike ride away from a quiet and tranquil beach.
  • Maureen and Pete's place far exceeded our expectations! Check-in was simple as they greeted us at the door and made us feel right at home. We had a comfortable stay in our own ground floor private bedroom and bathroom. The breakfast was delicious with an assortment of cereals, fruits, and breads. And the friendly conversation even better! What a beautiful view of the Bantry Bay, I would recommend Maureen's to anyone!

    Ryan2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • By bike, the house is not far from Bantry. The house is nicely located and it is very quiet. Maureen and her husband were very hospitable and made me breakfast and picnic on my way. I was even allowed to wash my laundry in the washing machine. The two have really taken care of me.

    Hilli2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay in a lovely, peaceful environment. A typical Airbnb experience with great chats with Maureen and her husband Peter.

  • Maureen and her husband are very hospitable and friendly. They do everything to make us feel at home and give access to their kitchen and all the facilities. They also offer a very good breakfast.

  • Maureen and Pete are very charming couple and were enjoyable to talk with. Their home is lovely and was a great place to stay while in Bantry.

    Patrick2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen and Pete are certainly among the top three most hospitable hosts we have experienced with Airbnb. The room was comfortable, breakfast outstanding, and the conversation was lively. We cannot recommend them more highly.

Our delightful retro Eriba caravan providing an extra double bed for up to 2 guests can be made available for an additional nightly charge per extra guest. The caravan is located in the garden next to The Byre and shares its amenities.
Accommodation comprises: – Cosy living area with wood-burning stove – Kitchenette - counter-top oven with double burner, full-size fridge, microwave oven, toaster and kettle – Sleeping area with comfortable King size bed and hanging space. – Shower room with basin and w.c. – Garden room The Byre does not pretend to offer luxury accommodation but a clean, cosy retreat for those who wish to escape the rigours of everyday life and enjoy all that this glorious part of the country has to offer.
The Byre is in the grounds of our own Irish cottage but has no near neighbours on three sides. The views over the countryside stretch for miles and the garden is a haven for wild birds. On a clear night the spectacle of the stars is enhanced by the lack of artificial light.
  • Such a cosy place to stay, winter or summer. you can light the fire and candles and snuggle down in comfort, in peaceful beautiful surroundings. The sun room is a great space even in the winter, when the sun is shining. our second time staying and I'm sure we'll be back. Thanks Hester.

    Tracey2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Hester’s place. The Byre is a lovely and cozy place to stay - just so quaint and full of charm! The wood stove/heater is an amazing touch, and perfect for keeping the place warm during the winter. If the weather is nice, there’s even a nice little covered patio area in the garden you can hang out in :) If you’re looking for a nice countryside getaway, the Byre is the way to go! Hester is a warm and welcoming host, and I’d definitely say that the Byre is one of the more unique places I’ve ever stayed in.

  • The Byre is a wonderful little place stay when visiting West Cork! Cozy, warm, and with everything you need all in the one room cabin. Loved our stay!

    Carolann2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Byre is an amazingly cosy little cabin with all amenities to be a perfectly good home (even hot water at the sink, quite luxurious ! ). If you're staying there in winter, I'd recommend to bring an extra blanket or two just in case (although there are loads there), but if you know how to work a wood stove, you're good to go ! We felt at home straight away and spent some quality relaxing time; silence, cute countryside and Bantry only a few minutes drive away: perfect combo. Highly recommended !

    Jane2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Bantry cottage was absolutely wonderful! Very cute and cozy cottage in a great location to explore Cork and Kerry. Hester was very nice and the cottage was very clean. The only issue was the cooking appliances were pretty difficult to cook with but it was completely manageable for our short stay. If we were there longer it may have been more of an inconvenience. Overall a truly magical place!

    Giselle2020-01-05T00:00:00Z

  • Very nice little cottage in the country.

    James2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Glendale Cottage was above and beyond relaxing, a true escape to the country! Considering how QUIET and private it felt, it's amazing how quick & easy it was to drive into Bantry for a walk along the bay, an afternoon tea & scones, shopping, visit to Bantry House, dinner or lunch in a pub or one of the fantastic restaurants, a shop at SuperValu for some delicious local Irish food... lots to do, or just sit in the square and soak up the sun (if it's making an appearance!). Helen was so sweet and welcoming, and the cottage quickly felt like a second home to us. Comfortable beds, plenty of hot water for a shower or soak in the tub, a full kitchen for making our own meals, a "moo" of greeting every morning from the cows in the pasture around us, and on a clear night, more stars than I've ever seen in my life. Did I mention how quiet it was? Lovely little patio out back with table & chairs overlooking rolling emerald pastures dotted with cows & sheep. The only way I could leave is by telling myself I'd come back one day. Helen & Gordon, thank you so much for your warmth and hospitality! We hope to see you again one day!

    David2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic value. We found this place fairly close enough to our arrival date and to be honest the other places were extortionatley dear. It was bank holiday weekend August ,and we were just going to stay at home rather than pay the huge prices some places were asking. The fact it was a bit outside of Bantry was a bit offputting at first, but boy how we were wrong. This is only literally 8 minuutes up the back road from Bantry by car and and within a short drive of many of the other fantastic places in beautiful West cork. House was spotless and excellent. Brilliant hostess. Couldn't reccomend it highly enough.

    Billy2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in the countryside. It's perfect for a family vacation We feasted! Helen is very responsive and attentive. The house is very cute, perfect for a family of 5! Thank you for the welcome, we recommend!

Charming holiday home in the middle of nature, Drombrow, Bantry, West Cork. One Bedroom with double bed, in addition one sofa bed in the living room is available. A great area for walking, cycling, daytrips. Lake nearby, riding facilities on site.
This property is an unusual type of house, built as an octagonal one room living space, it has recently been completely renovated and a big bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom with toilet and power-shower have been added. The original house contains a large modern kitchen, a big bright eating area and a comfortable place where you can sit and relax on a couch in front of the fireplace. in the centre of the building is the chimney with a new stove that can warm up the whole place even in winter and lets you feel at home anytime. This place would be ideal for 2 - 3 adults, with one big double bed in the bedroom, and the couch (easy to be converted into a 4ft sofa bed). From the main door and the bedroom you have access to the outdoor sitting area and the garden. A warm sheltered place ! bedlinen and towels are supplied, of course

  • This is a truly magical little cottage surrounded by beautiful nature. The cottage is quirky, really comfortable and sparkling clean, and Urs and Rosie are warm, attentive and very responsive hosts. Highly recommended for anybody looking to escape the busyness of daily life and to slow down for a few days. I would imagine that it can only be amazing in the summer for visiting the area, but even in February, in the middle of a storm, it was a truly fantastic little haven to relax and, in our case, get some writing done. Definitely recommend, and will definitely be back!

  • Carin is such a good host, with just short notice she got everything ready before we arrive. I love the location, is right downtown, everything is just within couple of minutes walk, house is clean & neat. I love the king size comfortable bad. Only one downside for me because of my knee problem i have a little bit difficulty to go up & down between bathroom & bedroom, other than that Carin’s place is just amazing.

  • Jocelyn and Paddy were very friendly and they waited for us with a cosy Christmas welcome. Even though we got a delay to arrive they did not complicate with that. The cabin is located in a nice area in the southwestern corner of Ireland, ideal to rest far away from the noise of the city. Definitely I recommend this place!

  • The space was perfect for us. Very thoughtful touches, extremely hospitable host, and a beautiful location tucked in the mountains. We were left some delicious scones that we enjoyed with our coffee in the morning and enjoyed one of the most beautiful landscapes on our drive out in the morning. Would definitely recommend this space to anyone staying in the area. You will not be disappointed!

  • We enjoyed Jocelyn Paddy’s place a lot. The location is perfect to explore the whole area of Sheeps head and Mizen Head. The Chalet is nicely furnished with a full kitchen and the owners even have an own water well which provides tasty drinking water. Also the suggestions for activities around the place the owners gave us (at a bonfire they invited us to) we’re super helpful. Thanks for an amazing stay!

    Michael2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The small cottage of Paddy and Jocelyn is beautifully designed and secluded and quiet in the middle of their garden. Both are very welcoming, we got the welcome fresh eggs, Irish cream, beer and chocolate (since we stayed there for 9 days). Even otherwise, the hosts were very attentive and helpful (spinning included). The cottage is cozy, the kitchen is decorated with little but for small dishes it is enough. We can only recommend a stay there!

    Lina2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jocelyn and Paddy are wonderful hosts, full of information about all the amazing things to do around Bantry. The cabin is cute, cosy, clean, and comfortable. Its environments are beautiful, with lovely spots for hiking and swimming close by. Also perfect starting point for many great day trips around the Bantry Bay and all the gorgeous peninsulas (Mizen, Sheep’s Head, Beara). We wholeheartedly recommend staying in Paddy’s Cabin!

  • It is a great place to spend some quiet days in a beautiful place. The area is great for excursions in the surroundings (Sheep’s Head, Glengarriff, etc.). Paddy and Jocelyn are two lovely hosts. The cabin is small but very comfortable and pleasant. Maybe we miss some place to store clothes.

    Luis2019-08-14T00:00:00Z

An interesting Heritage building with plenty of quirky original features, it is a perfect home in the heart of Bantry town. Rustic hemp walls in earthy tones set the atmosphere and the proximity provides easy access to cafe's, restaurants, night life and the sea front. A little haven from the friendly buzz that will pull you in as soon as you step outside the front door. Bantry is a small and friendly town with plenty of culture and a local population that will welcome with open arms.
The space is a small one bedroom flat, you can happily accomodate 4 people for a short stay. Fully functional kitchen, wood stove heating is supplimented with electric fires along with hemp plaster walls to insulate the thick stone walls, you should be very cosy. An interesting feature is that the toilet is on the first floor and situated off the side of the building as it was originally built without an inside bathroom. One of the bedrooms was then converted to house a bath but not the toilet! FYI the stairs are narrow going up.
The Bantry people are great, easy to get on with. There is always live music in the town at weekends, Ma's pub is our favourite for a chat, a traditional pub complete with cosy and garden. You can hire their back room to host your party. The Mariner is the best for music, dance space and serves a great tap beer, although there are others we go to, the waterfront is great for a pub lunch and some weekends hosts great rocking live bands. The market is on every Friday and in the summer months swells to some 150 stalls of everything. It provides a fantastic outlet for local entrepreneurs. Crafts, foods, plants, hardware, clothing, art, chickens and the many bric a brac stalls. Tuesday or Wednesday night you can travel a few miles to have a try at Ceili dancing, there are lessons for beginners before the better dancers join in. Locally there's walk, bike rides, gardens and houses to visit, the sea, kyaking with seals and ferries to the local islands. The cinema is within walking distance, as is the library and venues for all the main Bantry festivals.
  • A sweet, cosy and very comfortable place, friendly people, I would recommend it to anyone

  • John's place overlooks the Bantry Bay. On a nice day, the views are simply magnificent! We were there over New Year's Eve. The garden trees were decorated with colourful lights, and we were in the best position to admire the Bantry fireworks. The house has all the comfort, an excellent king bed, all the cooking facilities and tableware one could wish for on a holiday! The heating worked very well, and it felt nice and cosy inside. The shower was great, and the whole place was sparkling clean. We enjoyed our stay very much!

  • We spent an amazing week-end in that gorgeous part of Ireland. The property is beautiful and comfortable with its high standard layout and the view is splendid. close to Bantry and the pubs/restaurants. Very quiet. Hope we will be back soon!

  • Beautifully kitted out apartment, with a very comfortable bed, stunning powerful shower. Especially loved the expanding sofa for lounging on whilst watching TV. Shirley was very attentive when needed, and respecful of our privacy. Nothing was too much trouble (thank you Shirley for the replacement toaster). The area is lovely, with great drives and scenary. Lidl just down the road but a Super Valu in the harbour area offered better choices for us. Would we recommend, definately. If you like the same things we do it's a no brainer.

  • We had a wonderful week at John’s place. It was a perfect space for my husband and I and our 2 year old. The house had everything we needed and was beautifully presented- a perfect pad to return to after a day exploring gorgeous West Cork and Kerry. We loved the comfy bed, Netflix and coffee machine and it was such a treat looking out over Bantry Bay, what a fantastic location! Thank you for a peaceful stay in one of our favourite parts of the world!

We have a lovely small three bedroom house available. We are situated between Glengarriff and Bantry County Cork. The nearest shop is 10 minutes away from our place by car. The nearest villages are Glengarriff and Bantry. Bantry offers lovely restaurants and shops and also a swimming pool, gym, golf course and many more. Glengarriff also offers a nice forest and a spectacular sculpture garden. A visit to Garnish Island is also great. The guest house is located right next to our house.
We have reduced the number of people that can stay to 3 persons. On request a 4.th person may stay for an extra fee. Attention: the stairs in the house are quite steep. We recommend the house for young or middle aged people! It is not suitable for small children.
The atmosphere is very calm and quiet. We do not have many neighbours. This place is perfect if you want to enjoy the quite and listen to the birds sing. The view is beautiful. The deep blue sea and mountains are right in front of your eyes.
  • The stairs to the first floor were a revelation but manageable. The host was accommodating, helpful and able to advise us on nearby walks where we could take the dogs. The little touches were a delight and personally a cold beer upstairs looking out at the view was amazing. Spot on advice with the wifi and the space and peace has been wonderful.

  • The communication before and during our stay was very uncomplicated. Ute is very hospitable and her house is lovingly furnished with many small details. Especially in the heart we have Utes dogs and cats! The environment is very beautiful and numerous sights and hiking trails are nearby.

  • Lovely location very quick to Glengarriff, lots of things to do close by if you’re a nature lover and looking for calm and tranquility! Cute little house with nice tips for things to do during the stay and very good value!

  • Ute is a great host and we had a very relaxed time at her place. The cottage serves as a perfect home base for day trips to the different peninsulas (Beara, Sheep's head,...) and is very quiet and cosy. The view from the upstairs room onto the sea is stunning.
