Giuseppe's villa is a great find in Reggio Calabria, Italy. Giuseppe's kind gestures in sharing complementary beverages and breakfast treats only reinforce the pride in his Italian culture. An English to Italian translator is most helpful. You will need transportation, if you truly want to see southern Italy. Villa Franca is so welcoming we hope to return again. Giuseppe and his wife, Angela, were the kindest, most hospitable, most caring hosts imaginable. The villa itself is a dream, but to have these fine people along with it is to enjoy a perfect combination. We stayed in the off season, so some of the Seaside amenities were not available, and a few restaurants were closed, but it did not impact our enjoyment of the area very much. There is a bus stop almost directly in front of the house, which makes it very easy to get to and from the nearby city of Messina, including access from the central rail/bus terminal. There is a food and sundries store within walking distance, a post office—and of course plenty of gelato vendors! The Villa’s pool is gorgeous and beautifully maintained, although cushions for the lounge chairs would be a big plus. We were glad to have a washer/dryer in the Villa but operating them took a lot of guesswork—manuals would have saved time. Overall, a stunning home in a lovely location, with incredibly kind hosts.

A lot of space to move around in! Very comfortable . Absolutely great location. When you get off train (if you are walking) head to piazza Rocco, with the elevator going up. One euro up and one euro down.

Mariella's house is a wonder, located in the Aspromonte mountains, surrounded by nature. It's very relaxing and warm. In the house, everything is done to have a great stay, everything is comfortable and we lacked nothing. The house is equipped with everything from cooking to board games. Mariella and her spouse are two really lovely hosts, who welcomed us with great kindness despite our delay and had plenty of small touches for us (thank you again for the delicious cakes and your generosity). I recommend it more than anything!

Amazing stay for the second year in a row! Such a beautiful place, had everything we needed. We love it!

Under the Stars is a gorgeous, peaceful haven, with stunning views all around. We spent a week there as a family of four. Everything was absolutely perfect. Antonio and Roberta were incredible hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The pool is huge, the living space was impeccably clean and had everything you could wish for. Local amenities were just a short drive away. We will definitely be back for another stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful get away.

This was a wonderful place in which to spend several days exploring beautiful Reggio Calabria and Sicily. Our hostess and host were exceptional - extraordinarily generous and kind. We were showered with thoughtful gifts of eggs, fruit, fresh picked vegetables from their garden and a bottle of their home-made wine (which was excellent). They were patient with our questions and were a fount of local insights and knowledge. Over decades of travel, they rank at the very top of the hosts that we have met. The house was immaculate, modern and very well appointed and lived up to every one of our expectations. It is on the edge of a small village and was serene and peaceful. The house is located outside of Reggio Calabria and close to the ferries to Sicily in Villa San Giovanni. A car is strongly recommended to enable local travel and trips to Sicily (which are very easy to arrange). All in all, an exceptional stay. Thank you!!!!

We stayed for a week during New Year. With a two families, in total 9 people. Great place and great host. The surroundings and views are beautiful. The property has everything including a lot of fruit trees. You are close to the beach and there is a nice family style bakery and restaurant right around the corner. The house is next to a highway. You do notice at first, but after a couple of hours it’s not a big deal. There was a problem with the electricity but Mauricio handled it well and quickly. He is a great host.
