Joe and Odette have a charming place set in beautiful gardens with goats and friendly cats and of course hens and chickens and roosters entertaining us. The cottage is very comfortable in a lovely location with the bonus of a large deck to sit on and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Joe and Odette are the most charming, friendly, thoughtful and accommodating hosts. I would definitely stay again. It is like staying with family.

We had an amazing week at Gwens place. The hut is really nice and just a 2 minute walk from one of the most beautiful beaches in Raratonga. It is also just a 15 Minute walk to Muri town where the night market is located. And on the opposite of the road is a convenience store. Gwen and her daughter are really lovely and helpful.

Greg's house is a great base to explore Rarotonga. It's comfortable, stylish and is right on the oceanfront. The location is not somewhere you can swim safely, although rockpools are interesting at low tide. The house has a lovely lap pool which is perfect for hot days and morning exercise. The roar of the waves is a constant backdrop, reminding you that you're in South Pacific paradise. The house is best suited to 2 couples with two large bedrooms, I feel, although our youngest son (18) was quite happy out in thel studio, but it is basic. We travelled with our two sons, and the flexibility that the house offered, rather than booking 2 rooms in a resort, was fantastic. Sitting on the deck at sunset, G & T in hand, was a daily highlight, such a privilege. The house is super quiet, in terms of any noise from neighbours, so very private and peaceful. The flat grassed garden to the side was great for our soccer-mad boys to kick a ball around for exercise. You absolutely need a car.

Ian's place is a fantastic location - right on the beach. A fantastic deck overlooking the sea was the highlight for us - lots of BBQs sitting at the great big table watching the sunsets. The house itself was very clean (a bit tired but very functional) and was more than what we needed for a beach Bach stay. The snorkling out the front of the property was great and a short walk up the beach to the lagoonarium provided some incredible snorkling (we even saw a turtle). Ian happily made arrangements for us to check in at 2am and was easy to get hold of when we had questions. Would happily stay here again!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was fantastic and the location was amazing. The house was very comfortable with everything we needed. Both the front and back decks were great for relaxing and enjoying meals. The bbq was great too. It was nice to be able to open up the glass doors on both sides of the house to enjoy the breeze. The view from the back deck was so lovely. The location was fantastic. The best snorkeling right out the front. The water was crystal clear with so many fish. We even swam with turtles and eagle rays most days. We went for lovely strolls along the beach and enjoyed kayaking. We were able to walk to Charlie’s for a beautiful meal over looking the lagoon. It was a nice short drive into Muri Beach and to convenience stores. Having a car was handy to get around the island and experience all it has to offer. Mark was wonderful and promptly responded to any questions we had. We hope to come back and stay at this property again sometime.

Joe and Odette made us feel like family on our vacation to Raratonga. If you want a personal experience with a loving Cook family, and a few funny animals, this is place visit. Odette graciously welcomed us with a Cook Island family style breakfast feast. We enjoyed quickly getting to know the other guests as food was being passed right and left. I was even taught how to open my coconut to enjoy the milk. The hosts went "above and beyond " to provide helpful tips and services to all their guests which made our time with them so meaningful. We would love to return, wake up to jolly roosters, and listen to Joe and Odette's life stories at the breakfast table. I would especially recommend "The Jolly Rooster" if you have young children.
