The place is perfect for a getaway from the city. The proximity to Imbabura and the surrounding nature let you relax in this quiet and cozy cabin. Highly recommended! Katty and Lionel are great hosts! Generous and attentive people (without being intrusive). They left several things for breakfast and shared vegetables from the garden, which seemed like a nice touch. On the list of places to return to :)

The cabin is the same as in the pictures. It is very cozy, with a great view and well-equipped. Everything works very well - kitchen, showers, internet, heating, bbq, etc. It has the great help of Edwin who helped us find the house, at check-in and prepare everything for the bonfire. I recommend bringing a sleeping mask, as a lot of light enters the cabin at 6am.

A beautiful place to disconnect and enjoy nature. We were lucky that the day was clear, so we could see the Cayambe volcano in all its splendor. At night, the cold and the moon created a magical and special atmosphere. In addition, the cows grazing nearby, in the middle of the mountain, gave a unique touch to the landscape. An experience we would definitely repeat.

Wonderful, peaceful cabin in Mindo. We had a great time in this cozy cabin, near to many attractions and the river! Elaine is a very hospitable and friendly host, she gave us some great recommendations for our stay in Mindo.

It was a very nice experience, with a lot of nature and peace. The only thing I suggest is that if there was a restaurant service it would be excellent.

How to summarize a review for a place that has the potential to change your life has been a task. To stay with Cheryl and Jon at the Finca Aveterra is to be unplugged yet connected, cared for with generous hospitality, educated and informed of new ways of living; and for us specifically, reminded of who our Creator God is and the life He intended for us to live. It has been difficult to leave and felt like a departure from friends, family and home when we did. Cheryl was beyond gracious, helpful and thorough coordinating our arrival and departure, performing chef duties (unbelievable), connecting us to in-country travel means, greeting us in the middle of the night; Jon was passionately energetic sharing about syntropic agroforestry, touring us through the farm, the valley (!!), and both touring us through the lodge, sharing the fruit of their labor (literally), engaging conversation and generosity. Thank you for the time and grace of this beautiful place, Jon and CC. Con abrazos.

Very nice place, cozy and ideal for disconnecting from the world and enjoying nature. The house is very well equipped with everything for cooking and grilling! Alejandra was very kind and even helped us change the reservation date. We are very grateful and hope to be back soon

We loved the place. We were looking with my mom for a place to disconnect, away from people and noise. That nice place, having the river next to it is divine and to be a 15 minute walk to a waterfall, it really is what we needed. We'll definitely be back, it has everything we're looking for, plus Carmen's massages are also spectacular. Fully recommended place to rest and recharge.
