Cottage vacation rentals in Potomac River

Cute clean house. Comfy beds and a clean hot tub. Enjoyed the deer walking around outside. Whitney was extremely nice and responsive. Would definitely stay again.

The cottage was so cute, the back porch was so cozy and comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and everything was clean. The walk to the beach was so pleasant and super close, the hot tub was private and clean. We had a romantic weekend for two but this would be perfect for a young family, for some very relaxing beach time. The host was so gracious and responsive and the location so convenient from DC.

Cayla is more than just friendly and welcoming. She is consistant and organized. There is definitely a lot of time, thought and effort at making her guests feel at home! You couldn't find a more private, serene place just minutes away from anything you could need. This is my 2nd trip to the "Front Cottage". I managed to pick a spring shower week but the place is so cozy all was fine and still enjoyed the hot tub in-between showers🤗 I look forward to being welcomed back again.

A very nice place in a private setting. Had all the essentials. The pool and hot tub were especially nice. Loved the wine at the winery also🍷 Andrea was helpful and responsive with all questions. Highly recommend staying!

We had a relaxing weekend stay at Dave and Melissa’s place. The views from the screened in porch were beautiful. The surrounding area had a mix of older and newer properties. The little beach was nice. Overall a great place if you are looking for a quiet place to escape to.

We had a wonderful stay at Majestic Meadows. Sandy & Chris were wonderful hosts and the property was a great home away from home, with a beautiful courtyard full of colorful birds, a private pool, and a ton of flowering plants. Close enough to town to not feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but far away enough to feel secluded. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay! The views of the mountains were absolutely stunning. The space was clean, comfortable, and just as described. We really enjoyed the short hike down to the river, such a beautiful spot. There was a grill and campfire set up right by the water, which we didn’t use, but it was a nice touch. Scott was always available to answer any questions, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet and comfortable getaway close to nature.

This amazingly cozy farmhouse was just the vibe we were looking for. Beautiful outdoor seating (screened-in porch, deck overlooking the vineyards, and lounge chair by the pool) made it easy to breathe in the fresh air. Beds were comfortable and water pressure was great! The outside deck with Solostove was perfect for the chilly evenings. We enjoyed light snacks and wine at Muse Vineyards, which was lovely and got to meet Sally! We ventured into town for some local eats. Can’t say enough good things about Woodstock Cafe’s breakfast. We enjoyed a sweet treat at Sugar Creek and had a lovely walk down the street at Seven Bends. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, look no further!

This quaint little cottage was absolutely adorable. It was bright, cherry, and well lit. The furniture was comfortable, and the bathroom was large and very clean Our dog enjoyed the fenced in large property. We felt very safe amongst the trees and the setting of the home. The owners are so nice and warm. Would come back for sure.

This was our second stay here. Second time was just as good as the first. The fenced yard for the dog was what originally made us book here, but the beautiful location and well-appointed house will keep us coming back. This trip was the first time we were able to use the walk on access to Montpelier and that was a nice added bonus.

You would be hard pressed to find a better place to stay. The house was very comfortable and relaxing. When we’re back in the area this will be our go to place.

We were very impressed with our stay! Came for rest & reflection and found it. Very secluded and private but close to everything. The house and everything in the house were spotless and the amenities were much appreciated. Many places give you the “starter pack” like half a roll of toilet paper, etc. Not knowing what to expect, we packed everything but we really appreciated that there was enough garbage bags, paper towels, etc for our stay! Not to mention no shortage of bath towels or beach towels, kitchen was well stocked. The park being next door was awesome to walk through with the dogs. Highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed the stay! The house was very clean, nicely decorated, and well stocked with plenty of cookware, games, books, and extra linens and blankets. The area was so beautiful, with rolling hills, mountain views, farm scenery, fragrant fresh air, and spectacular star views at night. My city dog absolutely loved getting to run and play in the well maintained large fenced in yard! Billy and Margit provided dog treats, yard toys, extra leash, water/food bowls, dog towels, pet proof trash lids, and sofa cover indicating that dogs are allowed on the sofa. My dog was so welcomed! Billy and Margit provided whole bean coffee that they freshly roasted, and a bean grinder. The coffee was amazing! Really enjoyed drinking the coffee in the mornings while listening to the chorus of birds chirping. Hiked at Whiteoak Canyon Falls, less than 20 minutes from Amy's place. The early check in and late check out times were another generous touch that was enjoyed. Would love to stay again!

Absolutely wonderful stay! Josh and Judy were excellent hosts—friendly, responsive, and made everything so easy from check-in to check-out. The cottage itself was the perfect amount of space for our visit and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay in the DC area. The location couldn’t be better! The neighborhood is incredibly safe, and we loved being able to walk to so many phenomenal restaurants nearby. Having access to the garage was a huge bonus and made our trip so much more convenient and enjoyable. We love Alexandria and can’t wait to stay at Josh and Judy’s cottage again during our next visit. Highly recommend!

quiet get away spot- very quiet. No direct access to sand/water; just a view - (we knew that going in)- you have to walk a little to get a small little public beach area...but thats not why we went. Just to get away for a weekend from city noise; the place was great. walked dog off leash.

Absolutely loved the Raven Ridge Retreat! Our daughter had her wedding at Showwalters Greenhouse so staying on property was so convenient. This was mine and my husband's first experience with an Airbnb and Raven Ridge did not disappoint! It was clean, beautifully decorated and the views of the orchards and mountains were spectacular! It was a peaceful place for us to catch our breath with a cup of coffee on the front porch during a blessed but hectic weekend. I over packed thinking it wouldn't have all we needed but it had all the comforts and convinces of home. I would 100% recommend!!

Great little beach cottage for couples and small families - clean, comfortable, and close to the beach and the amenities in Colonial Beach. The hosts were great with communication and the pictures and description were accurate. We'd definitely consider staying here again for our next CB getaway!

We LOVED our time here. This home is charming. We felt so cozy. The view and access to water is incredible. Great for relaxing and reading a book and having a cup of tea while enjoying the sights and sounds of the bay, or for enjoying activities like fishing, swimming, or walking the countryside roads. The wildlife was abundant - active ospreys and we even got a show in the water from rays that was magical. Though compact, thoughtfully laid out and our family of 6 had a great weekend stay. We were a little anxious about how using the pier would work given some of the tensions mentioned in the reviews, and there are some unwelcoming signs up which is unfortunate, but other than the signs we had no problems using the dock at all different times. Our only interactions with others which were limited as it is quite private, were friendly and polite. So all went well! We would return and recommend.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay. The location was secluded enough for us but also not far from town. The view was beautiful and the house had so many amenities and surprising details that enhanced our time there! Communication was great and we didn’t struggle with checking in or getting to the house. We would 100% come back and recommend anyone to stay here.

What a beautiful location! If you are looking for bayfront, look no further. The screened in porch area is great too for enjoying being outdoors in the evening or in bad weather. The house felt both roomy and cozy (we had 8 and never felt cramped at all) with plenty of amenities for a getaway. We also really enjoyed the dock for fishing and just enjoying the bay weather. The area is nice too and there are plenty of restaurants within driving distance. Rick and Michelle were very helpful and communicated very well leading up to and during the stay. A great place to stay and highly recommend!

We had a great time. The cottage is lovely, very well decorated, comfortable, it felt like home. We enjoyed the deck and the bonfire by the water. We would have loved to use the kayak and canoe but the weather was not amenable to it unfortunately. Julie was proactive and shared detailed instructions and local recommendations. She was responsive when I asked questions ahead of our arrival. I would totally recommend for a couple or family and would definitely come back.

The river is beautiful and the location is so quiet and private. We were able to see the bald eagle and catch fish, etc. Highly recommend if you want a weekend in nature and just time to relax and unwind!

I had an amazing stay for my wedding weekend. The view of the water was unbeatable and the brand new outdoor furniture was great! Heather was very responsive and it was overall a great place to stay!
