The Markthaus is a historic gem and is a listed building, designated as the first hostel in Saxon Switzerland. The house frames the market square in the reflection of the market church below the castle ruin on the romantic Malerweg. The vaulted cellar and foundation walls date back to 1527. The main house was built in 1734 and operated as a rest stop, post office and inn. In 1850, a massive extension was built in the classicist style. Röhringer ran the Hotel Sächsische Schweiz here.

The half-timbered building is more than 100 years old and has been stylishly restored in recent years. Up to 14 people can be accommodated in 5 bedrooms. A particularly large lounge with over 60 m² of floor space can be used for a variety of purposes. 2 stoves create a cozy atmosphere. A garden with terrace completes the offer.

In the house there is a fireplace for the cool days and in the garden you can barbecue or simply enjoy the great starry sky at night. There are plenty of climbing and hiking opportunities in the area. Please note that there is no Wi-Fi in the cottage.
