Family-friendly vacation rentals in Platanos

Beautiful apartment, well equipped, close to Chania by car. Easy street parking which is very quiet. The apartment is very spacious, it can be suitable for 2 families. Our host's welcome is perfect. The stay around Chania is very pleasant. Recommended!

We stayed at Georgia's mansion during our honeymoon at the end of September. The place was large for two people, but we felt like royalty with all of the space :) The mansion is beautifully redone on the inside - it has modern amenities with a traditional aesthetic. The place had absolutely everything we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, and outside. The pool was wonderful! We spent our afternoons lounging after hot days in Chania and the surrounding areas, which offer lots of restaurants, attractions, and great shopping! The area was great as well - easy to get to, quiet, and with easy access to the main road that can take you east or west in no time :) We highly recommend a stay at this beautifully restored mansion, and we hope to be back ourselves someday!

It was super nice here. We were warmly welcomed and communication went smoothly. The place is as pictured. You're a bit up the mountain, which is super nice because it's much quieter there. The city and the beach are within walking distance. We were very satisfied.

We had a lovely stay at Katerina's place. She welcomed us personally and was always very kind. We felt at home for all the days we stayed there. Chania old town was a bit farther than expected but the two beaches close by were calm and really amazing! We stayed there with our one year old and were able to enjoy the jacuzzi while he was sleeping close by

We were on the fence between staying in Chania or at the beach, and made the right choice. Harilao is the most hospitable host, his recommendations were perfect and helped us plan our entire trip to Crete. The house was immaculate and exactly as described. His location was perfect for our two family group - walkable to restaurants, stores, and beaches with parking for 2-3 cars which made for easy trips to Chania and around the island. Highly recommend.

Excellent. The Monastery is the perfect example of contemporary architecture and interior design. The proportions and visibility lines appear to be expertly planned and cleverly designed to guarantee peace, privacy and comfort from the heat of the day. Even more important though, is how friendly the staff were. We were made to feel welcome from the very moment we parked the car, and the staff could not have been more helpful. In particular, Meggie and Georgia went out of their way to help us. All of the staff were great though. The food was excellent, and the views spectacular. This part of Crete is incredibly beautiful and given the friendliness and style of The Monastery, we will certainly return.

The places is perfect.

We stayed in the apartment for 10 days. It is very close to the old town of Chania which did provide some ambient noise, but we did not find that disturbing. The beach is also at walking distance. Every few days there was cleaning and towels were replaced, this was pleasant. The jacuzzi is great, only a manual is missing. All in all a nice apartment in an excellent location with plenty of privacy. We would recommend it to anybody.

Savoula's apartment is in the center, and thanks to the host's precise directions it was easy to find. The kitchen is well-equipped, with oil, salt and sugar available (always welcome). The bedroom is spacious and the bathroom is functional. The big plus is the terrace with the sofa and table, and the laundry room available. I really enjoyed it and recommend this apartment without a doubt.

We stayed at Irene’s for one week, at first I thought it was quite long but ended up we went out and about every day, up hill alternately go swimming. Attraction places are in the vicinity. We don’t have to drive far. Famous Falasarna is just 20 mins away. Irene’s apartment is very well equipped. We enjoyed her place very much, it is very comfortable and spacious. Her kitchen is full of plates, pots and pans, not only that, wrap, foil, etc are also provided. Irene is such a friendly and kind lady. She replied our messages promptly. She baked the cretan traditional pie for us. She left lots of snacks on the table for us on our arrival. Highly recommended.

It feels like home as soon as we arrived at Grigoris's place. We were welcomed by Christina (Grigoris mom, hope we got the name right). Christina was super friendly and helpful through our stay. She brought to us some home cooked Greek pastries and biscuits next day and we loved them. The house looks and feels better than the photos. Beautiful sea view in a quiet area. We felt so relaxpastIt has everything you need to enjoy your stay there. Great place for a family. Highly recommend and we will definitely come back. Lots of lovely memory. We spent several days in Villa Nikki and had a wonderful time. The house, the view, the Pool - everything was just amazing. Communication with Giannis and his team was also perfect. If our vacation wouldn't have ended we probably just would have stayed there for ever :)

We loved our stay at Michalis’ Corner House. It’s in a perfect walkable area of Chania, and we would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to visit. Michalis was very personable, responsive, and offered great recommendations!

Wow! Where to begin with this review - this was probably the best Airbnb experience we have ever had overall, and we have stayed in a lot of airbnbs! Manos and Klelia made sure we had a fantastic experience in Chania , they are so friendly and very helpful with any questions we had, super responsive and they really went above and beyond; to the extent that when we arrived they gave us a home baked banana bread loaf and fresh home baked pastries from their shop!! As for the apartment, we stayed for one month and it was a home away from home. It is in a great location, 10 minute walk from a lovely beach and great restaurants. The apartment had everything we needed and even had a little home gym outside which we used daily, it has a sheltered parking spot and a little private patio. 100/10!! Thank you Manos and Klelia for an unforgettable trip.

We had an amazing two-week stay at Kostas and Aristea’s beautiful traditional house in October. I was there with my sister, niece, and boyfriend, and we all loved it! The house is tastefully decorated with charming traditional elements like old photos and antique tools, making it unique and cozy. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the beds are super comfortable. The peaceful setting, surrounded by olive groves, with a magical garden, was perfect for relaxing. Kostas and Aristea are such caring hosts, offering homemade wine, fresh apples, and kumquat jam. We can’t wait to come back!

Manolis was very responsive. He even showed up personally when we had some miscommunications as to where to park the car. We loved the location. It was a very convenient walk to the area we wanted to be. The apartment had an outdoor terrace with a great view of the water, and was spacious and clean. We would stay here again if we came back to Chania.

There were three of us in the apartment, including a 3-year-old child. The place was as described and the hosts make every effort to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Communication in advance and during the stay was super fast and helpful. We received a lot of tips and descriptions to find our way around. The shared roof terrace is very nice and the balcony of the apartment is also a good size. The furnishings are simple, but it has everything you need. We can absolutely recommend this place (value for money is right).

We were very happy with our choice of Villa Asteri. The location was perfect, and Esther responded quickly to our queries and always had great advice on where to eat and what to see. We stayed in October and enjoyed endless sunny days relaxing around the stunning pool in a secluded garden, both were meticulously maintained. There is a convenient and well stocked mini-supermarket a short stroll away and, just a little further down the road is Kalamaki Beach, a great spot with golden sand and clear water. We were able to park our rental car off the street in the driveway. Getting about was a breeze as the highway onramp was less than a kilometre away and it was only 5km into Chania. Our holiday in Crete exceeded all our expectations and Villa Asteri and its amazing location was a big part of that.

The villa is exactly as described and more. The owners meet us when we arrived even though it was really late and greeted us with raki and supplied us with water, fruit, cheese, ham and bread. They also popped in with a gift before we left which was lovely. The villa was impeccably clean and perfect for us a family of 4. The villa had stunning views of the sea and mountains. The outside grounds is perfect and beautifully designed like the inside. It had a great outside eating area with BBQ and the pool was great, Ideal place for adults to lay back on the sun loungers and watch the kids in the pool. Also towels were provided for pool use along with bath towels. We also really enjoyed the crazy golf. The inside of the villa is decorated to a high standard. The kitchen has everything you need. The bedrooms had ample storage and comfortable beds. Both bathrooms also had a spa shower. Overall an amazing villa which we will hopefully return to one day. Thank you to the Nikolakakis family x

We stayed as a family of four for a week. The villa consisted a main floor with a modern, clean and well equipped kitchen, a comfortable sitting/dining room with lovely views over souda bay and towards chania. A large jacuzzi bath was also off the sitting area. The rest of this floor was three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with a shower/ tub combo and the other a wetroom style. A further bedroom/ shower room was on the floor below via an outside staircase as well as a well equiped gym. The outside area was expansive and enough for our boys to run around. The villa also had a number of indoor and outdoor games for the boys to enjoy. But a lot of our time was spent in the heated pool! Overall, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The villa was very clean, comfortable with stunning hilltop views. The location was close to the airport, local resturants and shops and we had food delivered to us a number of times. A special point was the kindness and helpfulness of our hosts, thank you!

We loved staying at Villa San Pietro. Everything was even better than what you see in the pictures. The outside landscaping, the pool and surrounding patio, the outside furniture, the styling, everything was top notch. So was the inside of the villa. Gorgeous, well designed and beautifully decorated. What a paradise! The only thing to note is that if you come before mid-April, which we did, you will find most places to still be closed. While the supermarkets are all open, most of the restaurants are closed. At the beginning of our stay, April 7, we only had about 2-3 places within walking distance to choose from. Toward the end of the week (April 11), more places started to open up. Also, pretty much every vacation rental is lacking home heating. So again, if you come early in the year and you end up with several days in the 50s (10C) with clouds and rain, it gets pretty chilly and uncomfortable in your rental. We used every blanket and towel we could find to keep warm

We had a lovely quiet stay at the Lofos village villa, it is within a complex of other villas but this did not distract from our stay. The accommodation/pool was fantastic and the villa had everything we needed, this was complimented by our delightful host who was always on hand for a chat. I would say that you definitely need a car as the villa is approx 20-30 mins walk from the resort up a very steep hill, which has no street lighting. Chania was a 25 min drive away and very pretty but the local village of Agia Marina was over developed and not particularly pleasant. Lots to see if you are happy to drive further afield. We would recommend the villa for a quiet stay, however if you want a quaint Greek village experience look elsewhere.

Such a beautiful place, nestled on the hill with an unspoiled view of the ocean and mountains all around you. Totally peaceful and with a tiny village about 10 mins walk away, the local beach also about 10 mins easy walk - with a couple of great tavernas open til late. We had 5 days relaxing by the pool, catching up on reading - hiked a nearby gorge one day and explored some local beaches (though it was April and the weather fluctuated a little). Absolute heaven and I’d recommended to everyone. .
