Visiting from the UK, Angela the host gave clear directions & gate entry info. On arrival we were greeted with a thatch roof rondawel in the most serene & private surroundings. Felt so tranquil & peaceful looking out over her beautiful garden. The rondawel has a lovely rustic feel & was spotless with the little touches of tea, coffee, sugar & milk plus some delicious biscuits & a dram of Sherry! There’s a fire pit to enjoy looking up at the vast African sky & a swimming pool to enjoy by day. Vervet monkeys were busy foraging & little duikers came to visit. We stayed here 4 times during our visit we enjoyed it so much. Angela gave us tips on places to visit & eat & was so friendly during our stays. We will definitely be back!

So thrilled we had a chance to stay here - such a beautiful place, so quiet, with the most wonderful view of the woods, a river, and lake in the distance. Pauline is a fabulous host - her communication was excellent and although the cabin is really off the beaten path, her directions were perfect. She couldn't have been more helpful and we spent a blissful weekend there. No wonder it's hard to book here and it's a super popular place to hire. Long to return.

I booked Lauriane's place for family attending a wedding nearby. The cottage was beautiful. Perfect if you love peace and quiet and especially if you're a horse lover. Access to the nature reserve was also very easy. The accomodation is exactly as described in the listing. Thank you for a great stay. Mum especially enjoyed her morning coffee while watching the horses go by.

My husband and I decided to book a last minute getaway at the ShawShack family farm, and it was exactly what we needed. The cabin was simple, uniquely different and was nothing short of beautiful. We loved every minute of our stay. We loved spending time with all the dogs on the property, especially Kobe 🐾 he was our special visitor and we will miss him. This cabin was the most special hidden gem, and we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Karl & Lucille were very helpful and super friendly. They really do have such a special property and we will definitely be visiting again. To Karl & Lucille, we absolutely loved the homemade rusks and the special touches you added to make our stay memorable. We really appreciate all the effort that was put into the cabin to ensure we had a lovely time. We can’t wait to visit again 🩷
