King’s Country Quest

Our home is 53 miles from Harrisburg and 54 miles from State College. 10 minutes from Rt. 322. We live along a main road.We live in a beautiful setting in the country with Shade Mountain in the background. We finished our basement in 2019 and have around 1200 square feet of lovely and modern decor with a full kitchen.A dining table with 2 extra leaves. Large living room with wrap around couch and a regular couch which comes out into a queen bed along with a comfortable recliner.

This is our second time staying here and again it was amazing. We had privacy and the house is huge and did not feel overcrowded with our family and friends. Very enjoyable stay for my wife and I. Location could not have been better. The home was beautiful and as advertised. Communication with Stephen was quick and easy. Only issue was trying to find the non existent garage door opener. Stephen solved that with a quick message. As an aside, the city of Carlisle need to explore restricting the amount and hours that trucks are allowed to rumble through town.

We had a fantastic stay at Orthey's while celebrating a family graduation! The home was spacious, clean, and perfect for hosting our family gathering. One of the biggest surprises was how fully equipped the house was—we didn’t need to bring a thing. From the kitchen to the bathrooms, everything we could possibly need was already there, which made our stay incredibly convenient and stress-free. The views were absolutely stunning, and the peaceful location added to the experience. It truly felt like a home away from home, and we appreciated all the thoughtful touches throughout the property. Thank you for a wonderful stay—we’d gladly return in the future!

We used the property as a base of operations for our rafting and fishing day trips on the Susquehanna River. Conveniently located near great river access it was a welcome peaceful and relaxing sanctuary after a full day on the river. The hot tub and fire pit saw ample use and were very welcome amenities.

My stay at this location was quite pleasant. The only thing I wish it had was a few hangers for my clothes, but it really wasn’t a big deal. The entrance was well-lit and everything was very clean. I especially appreciated that Jose was kind enough to let me check in early, even though my original check-in time was scheduled for much later. I’m truly grateful for that.
