House vacation rentals in Paiva River

We had a fantastic stay at the villa. Highlight was the unbelievable views from the pool and terrace. The villa and garden with pool & basketball/football court is completely private, perfect for small groups. There are some great local restaurants and river beaches, and Porto centre is only a short drive away. Be warned - there are lots of steep and narrow roads! João was a brilliant host - greeting us on arrival, and easy to reach throughout. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

I would give 10 stars if possible! The place is just amazing, Paulo and Isabelle created a beautiful paradise with a breathtaking view and everything one needs for an unforgettable holiday. Beautiful, clean, calm and quiet space. From the house, to the garden, to the pool and the magnificent unobstructed view, everything is wonderful. I recommend it 500%. Ideal for a family vacation, with peace and quiet. Spectacular.

This place was amazing, way bigger than it looks in the photos, with everything we needed and incredible views. The host was super helpful and easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend and stay again if I get the chance!

The stay went incredibly well. We had high expectations, but it managed to exceed them. The house is very well located and the decor is wonderful! For me, João and Debora are impressive as hosts, they left nothing to chance and were always available to help. For sure, repeating it!

This is a very special place with beauty everywhere you look including the architecture of the house utilising the natural materials of the region to blend into the landscape. Francisca cooked us a delicious three course meal including wine, delivered on a tray on our first night what a treat ! On Francisca’s recommendation we had a very authentic wine and food tour with Bambuti Tours we were overwhelmed with Portugal hospitality for the day and Viewed some amazing scenery, a great way to explore the valley. Casa Do Largo is situated in some of the most beautiful scenery in the valley and we enjoyed a whole day there , with a walk to the beautiful river first then a day enjoying the pool and the most comfortable home. This has been our favourite spot in Portugal and we would highly recommended you book it for at least 3 nights.

This place is incredible. A renovated house from the medieval period, it’s even more impressive than the pictures. The setting is beautiful, with a view of the valley right out the bedroom window. The place itself is spotless and the automated check-in was a breeze. The host even had a bottle of wine waiting for us, and it’s well stocked with coffee. Like most homes in the region, be prepared to drive for groceries and restaurants - and take note that the drive to the house is steep downhill and at times narrow - but take it slow and you’ll be fine. The location of this place is perfect if you want to visit both Porto and the Douro valley. 10/10 would recommend!

We had a lovely stay, super hosts and very peaceful area. We loved the saltwater pool and although we were a little worried about sharing with neighbours, it was all fine! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

Such a lovely experience. Marissa was so welcoming and answered all of our questions. We enjoyed the countless recommendations such as the local bakery (San Miguel was our favorite), and the 516 Suspension Bridge. The AirBnb was cozy and so lovely that we really felt at ease and comfortable. We will definitely keep it on the list for future travel!

This was one of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever had at an Airbnb. The scenery was stunning, and the setting felt wonderfully secluded yet still just 15 minutes from the nearest supermarket (via a charming, winding road). The house was very comfortable and included a lovely pool — a perfect spot to unwind and take in the beauty around. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway.

We had such a glorious stay, we cannot recommend it enough. Carolina was super responsive and accommodating, gave us amazing recommendations of restaurants and kindly booked a couple of reservations for us. Everything is within walking distance throughout the city. The apartment is surrounded with beautiful views. The plunge pool was a lovely bonus to cool down in the late afternoon, not overlooked at all. Thank you again x

Abilio and Gina welcomed us very warmly even though we arrived late at night. The house is decorated with a lot of love, very cozy and well equipped. The view of the Douro is spectacular - even in bad weather. The house has a very nice garden and a great pool. Ideal for a vacation with children. I highly recommend the place!

We really enjoyed the house & the river. We enjoyed a bottle of wine & the local spirits. We took the train from Mosteiro to Pinhao which was beautiful & enjoyed a picnic in the hills above Loivos. Didn’t try the restaurants I’m afraid Rachel

The house is perfect, very beautiful, everything was impeccable, it has several household items, the bed is comfortable, the pool is excellent, it has an outdoor kitchen that makes all the difference, they were wonderful days, Mr. Arcilio and Daniela are amazing people, my family felt at home, the best house we've ever stayed in, we'll be back for sure.

We had a lovely time at Raquel's, the house was beautifully decorated with a unique style, the pool, vegetable garden and surroundings were very nice too, we were able to visit and eat very well in the surroundings. Raquel, Filipe and his wife were very nice. This stay will always be dear to me because we were able to meet Dr. Reinaldo, the owner of the estate, what a joy to share his stories and wisdom, thank you for everything ❤️

We've had an amazing 4 days here. It's just a perfect location and we felt at home here. The pool, the view, the garden with grill - everything was just perfect. The only 'negative' things, if you can call them negative, is that the bathroom is on a different floor than the bedrooms, and that the parking is a bit tight for a large car. We can fully recommend this place to anyone looking for a private getaway in a beautiful location.

I enjoyed staying. From the location to the stylish furnishings it was what I was looking for. Although quiet in regards to food offerings there were two local eateries and a cafe. All I needed! Being close to the river I spend mornings with coffee and evenings with a glass of wine along the waterside. A (large) supermarket is only a short 15 minute drive allowing me to use the well equipped kitchen. I don’t hesitate to recommend Casa Douro!

A few highlights: the kitchen is fully equipped, the space is family friendly, and the landscape is amazing. This is my favorite airbnb booking, and I travel a lot. Quiet location (which was what we wanted), excellent house, views, spacious (inside and outside/garden), lots of extras/gifts from the host, who was impeccable. I recommend it and we'll possibly return with warmer temperatures.
