Guesthouse vacation rentals in Ottawa River

We totally loved the experience. Awesome to get away from city life and enjoy a true simple living (and everything that comes with it -- wood stove, outhouse, bringing and heating water for all your needs, etc.) Would love to enjoy it again and recommend to everyone who understands this style of vacation/recreation. Very nice cabin in a peaceful and quiet treed area. A small river on the property just steps away. The place and the area still offer a good deal of civilized life for those who do not want to disconnect completely: neighbouring properties are not that far away, there's relatively short drive to the highway, electric lighting and a socket in the kitchen). So it's a very good balance overall. Carine was a wonderful host. Unintrusive but always there for our questions/needs. Thank you so much, Carine!

Lyn and Peter were amazing hosts for our family of 4 (two adults plus two kids, ages 9&6.) Lyn greeted us at check-in, but gave us privacy after that, and was super quick to respond to texts on the rare occasion we had a question. The boathouse was as described with even more amenities than listed and more spacious and beautiful than the pictures could do justice. The place is immaculate with careful thought and detail into every little decoration and little touches (e.g. a basket in the bedroom with bug spray, package toothbrush, etc. for any forgotten items.) We felt completely at home in the boathouse and enjoyed the beautiful views from the upstairs deck and dock, where we spent the majority of our time. We all loved taking out the SUPs that were there for our use and it was a quick drive into town to visit Don’s Bakery (IYKYK), Splash Island, and the ski show on Tuesday night. Highly recommend the boathouse for your next Muskoka stay! Lyn’s hospitality is 10/10.

Lisa’s cottage was exactly as advertised. She made sure to answer any inquiries and the property was wonderful for relaxing by the lake on the gazebo. Our fishing trip was fun and the access to the dock was very easy. The cottage was perfect for our stay and had everything needed for a nice stay on the lake. Lisa checked in with us a few times to ensure everything was fine and even provided a short history of the lake. Highly recommended cottage and we hope to return next year! Thanks again!

Beautiful and cozy cabin in St. Hippolyte surrounded by peaceful nature—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The cabin was spotless, well-equipped, and had great outdoor space . The host was exceptional, going above and beyond with thoughtful touches, clear communication, and genuine care. Highly recommend for a tranquil stay with amazing hospitality! My family all enjoyed their stay at this homey cottage. Loved the close proximity to the river. The back yard, being fully fenced, was great for our dog. We enjoyed a nice fire in the fire pit outside in the evening. The kitchen & bathroom were clean & fully stocked with everything we needed. The neighbour’s were very friendly, the hot tub was relaxing & Pierre was very quick to respond to my questions.

We really enjoyed our stay, the cottage was comfy and had everything we needed. The setup and sandy shoreline/shallow waterfront is ideal for a family with young children. Holly lent us some kayaks and a paddle board and the kids had an absolute blast with those. The folks next door gave us plenty of privacy but were approachable, helpful and just all-around nice people. Thanks for a great vacation, Holly and crew!

Patricia & Dennis were amazing hosts and very accommodating. The loft was great with an amazing view and balcony to enjoy the weather. They were very kind and helpful. It’s a great place to enjoy and relax ..!!!

Well equipped airbnb with lots of charm and comforts. I was elated to see coffee and cream provided. My favourite part of the day is my morning coffee and somehow I forgot it! Thank you Anne-Marie for being so flexible and understanding of my circumstances. It made the stay even better than it already was. I definitely recommend this Airbnb if you are ever in need.

went with my husband and little dog and we had an amazing time! beautiful place, quiet, private, by the river, so cozy and comfortable. the hosts were so nice and thoughtful. They showed us the place, were very responsive and also joined us at the bonfire. they provided everything we needed for outdoor activities like wood for the fire, kayak equipment and everything else. we will definitely come back very very soon!! :)

The hosts were very helpful and provided almost everything we needed for our stay. You can borrow games, activities, boots and more from the trading post. We definitely overpacked. It’s hard to find places like this that are pet friendly. We will come back again.

We had an exceptional experience at this place! The environment was tranquil and the surroundings were simply beautiful. The host was incredibly friendly, providing us with all the necessary instructions and even helping out when we encountered a minor hiccup with the fire. The adorable animals on the property were a delightful bonus, and we were even treated to some fresh duck eggs! Highly recommend this place for a peaceful and enjoyable retreat.

We stayed at Mackenzie’s cabin for a few nights for a mini moon after our wedding. It was the perfect relaxing getaway. The cabin had everything we needed and the location is pristine. Mackenzie was great to communicate with and even decorated our cabin!

Our stay was perfect! Monica and Richard was wonderful hosts. The house was extremely clean and cozy. And thanks to the calmness of the surrounding we had great sleep. We couldn’t ask for more!

Great spot (particularly if you’re going to a hockey game). Spacious and very clean. Well appointed, great communication from host, and lovely quiet neighbourhood. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay at Mark's cabin, close to Huntsville. The neighbourhood is nice an quiet and Algonquin Provincial Park is easily reachable. The kitchen equipment is great and the living room very cozy. We would definitely book again!

We had a great stay at Kazi’s place and there was plenty of space for the 17 of us! Each room having its own bathroom definitely made it easy for everyone to be comfortable. There were lots to do in the area and would highly recommend this place!

We had a lovely stay at Martin's cottage! It was perfect for our group of four, offering plenty of space and all the little essentials we didn’t even think to bring—thanks to Martin’s thoughtful attention to detail. The only minor issue we encountered, which we completely understand is out of the host’s control, was the presence of ladybugs in the house. We found ourselves gently removing a few every now and then, but it didn’t detract from the overall experience. Additionally, the hot tub was unfortunately not usable during our stay, but again, we understand that sometimes things happen. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this cozy retreat!

Outstanding location to the Bassmaster elite Tournament that was in the same bay as the take off. Fantastic hosts. Cannot recommend enough.

This was our second time here and it is amazing! It is a beautiful spot with lots to do outside.

We very much enjoyed our time here! Very spacious, warm, cozy, incredible views, relaxing space. Our host David was very responsive, helpful, friendly, and considerate. We enjoyed the variety of fruits, bagels, yogurt, orange juice, coffee and jam for breakfast. Beds are large pull outs, lots of pillows and blankets. Amenities are mostly everything you need, including shampoo, conditioner, small fridge, toaster oven, toaster, microwave. There is no stove but a BBQ outside to use. There is no kitchen and therefore no sink, so you need to rinse fruits and cups in the bathroom sink, but that is not an issue. There is a yoga and workout space with workout equipment. The views will blow your mind on the large deck. For the Netflix, just an FYI the AV adapter is in the sliding door closet that you need to turn on. It took us a hilarious amount of time to figure it out. All in all, 5-star location, host, views, and completely relaxing in nature. Would stay again.
