The Moorings

The Moorings is a special place to stay in Oamaru. You will never tire of the view over the harbour. The home itself is immaculate and stylishly renovated. The beds and linen are excellent quality. The toilet is separate from the bathroom. The walk down the path to the house is well worth it. The home is close to the Penguin Colony, the old part of town and Scott's Brewery. Unfortunately, the house is not child-friendly. We are unable to take bookings which include young children.

Park up your bike and stroll 100m down to the local cafes or have a meal at a local restaurant or pub. Nearby lakes include Waitaki, Aviemore and Benmore. A fishing and hunting mecca. Close to the victorian town of Oamaru and the spectacular McKenzie country with ski fields, Mt Cook, lakes Tekapo, Pukaki and Ohau nearby.

We have sheep, and chickens in the orchard, so may hear rural chatter along with bird song. We have two small friendly dogs.
