Bungalow vacation rentals in North Sumatra

Taha’s was a peaceful place to stay in the Telos. Room was as described in Airbnb. Close to local left called Churches. Easy walk to break each day. Food was great and varied, often hot so ask kitchen if you need less spice. Desi prepared our meals each day. A kind and lovely young woman who was a highlight of our stay. We miss you Desi! We only surfed local left. You will need to organise with Taha for trips to other breaks and have some knowledge of surf conditions for other breaks too. No surf guide as such. Snorkelling nice out front and sandy beach. Take booties for walk out to surf, path slippery when wet. Taha’s is a great place if you want to enjoy simple island life in a small village, opportunity to go to church and visit to Telos town. Maybe not so suitable if you want to check other breaks out each day as boat trips soon add up in cost. Had a few days without other surfers but other days busy with surf boats. Right from the beginning Taha and his family made us feel very welcome and at home. The picked us up at the Ferry, welcomed us with smiles and took care of us the entire stay. The food cooked by Desi, mama Jonas and mama Desi was DELICIOUS! Always a great variety of their local dishes. The cabin is al you need on the Island, your own private space surrounded by palm trees. Sunrise, sunset and the surf never disappointed. I would 10 out of 10 always recommend this place! I can’t wait to go back myself.

We had the most amazing stay. The family are so kind and helped us book a boat to telo island and anything else we needed. The bungalows are even nicer than the pictures and the linen is so fresh and clean, you’ll be sure to have an extremely comfortable nights sleep. The location is amazing, you can watch the surf from the sun loungers and enjoy dinner while watching the sunset. We ended up staying here twice during our time in nias as we loved it so much. Highly recommend, quality and luxurious stay.

Una mujer trabajadora, honrada, justa, luchadora por su comunidad. Respetada de manera excepcional por todo aquel que la conoce. Una persona que nos ha dejado una profunda huella y un ejemplo para nuestros hijos y para nosotros. En Ina Silvi Cottage no hay nada y nada más hace falta. El lujo es el lugar, la autenticidad de formar parte de la comunidad local, la calidad humana de los pobladores de este paraíso que ella guarda, serena, tan impecablemente. El mundo necesita muchas más mama Silvi.

Très bon accueil par Rius, le manager local, le cadre est incroyable... une île quasi déserte dans un archipel magnifique, de nombreuses possibilités de snorkeling avec des fonds préservés. Les bungalow sont simples mais parfait dans le cadre, et l’équipe sur place est aux petits soins. Quelques jours inoubliables ...

My only regret about staying here was not staying longer. Taha makes you feel like part of the family, he makes everything easy and ready to help out whenever he can. The surf is excellent and the best break in the Telos group is a 5 minute walk away, otherwise easy for Taha to arrange boats. The food is excellent and in good quantities, the accommodation is basic but very comfortable (a hot shower in the tropics is not necessary). I can't wait to come back

Superbe adresse sur le lac Maninjau, emplacement de rêve, les pieds dans l’eau. Nous avons été reçus très chaleureusement par Eka et sa famille. Eka est exceptionnel pour sa gentillesse et son désir de rendre service, il est venu nous chercher à Parapat avec un ami à lui, ils ont fait l’aller/retour en 2 jours (16H30) de voyage à chaque parcours et ils ont été très prudents. Eka nous a aussi accompagné pour la prolongation de notre visa à l’immigration de Bukittinggi, ce n’était pas très simple, heureusement qu’il était là ! Il nous a conduit à Pallupuh afin que nous puissions voir une rafflésia en fleur. Le scooter qu’il nous a loué était de très bonne qualité ainsi, nous avons pu découvrir les environs de ce lac magnifique et sauvage, une belle étape dans un superbe environnement, ne pas manquer de passer chez Eka, nous n’avons qu’un souhait, c’est pouvoir y revenir au plus vite !!!
