We renovated a 160-year-old traditional house in 2023. The total site is 700 tsubo (2300 m ²), and the building is 170 m ², making it very spacious. While it is an 8-minute drive to Kumamoto Castle, it is a cottage where you can relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. The garden is full of trees and flowers, including a large camphor tree that has been there for over 160 years, black pines, Japanese maples, and bamboo forests, so you can enjoy the trees and flowers in all seasons. The host lives in the adjacent building, so you can feel at home. Take a big, deep breath and refresh yourself from the heart. ●Here’s what you need to know · There are many mosquitoes and insects because there is a garden with many trees. If you don't like insects, it may be difficult to enjoy. The facility is located in a very quiet residential area. There is a wood stove in the living room which is available in winter after receiving instructions from the host. The host lives next house, but of course will not disturb you unless guest's requests. Our 花hana is located at the foot of Mt. Aso, so we coexist with the wild animals and rich nature.

We had booked 2 nights at Taiji's and enjoyed it very much. The location is very quiet and secluded, right on the river. The highlight is certainly the food, dinner (4000yen) and breakfast (included) are really great! The only criticism: the onsite area could be a little cleaner.

Good news: The host politely recommended local spots such as hot springs and izakaya to me, who was traveling alone. It was equipped with cooking utensils, a refrigerator, a microwave, pots, chopsticks and spoons, condiments, etc., so I had a very pleasant time during my stay. Also, on the last day, I became friends with two people from overseas, and after enjoying sightseeing together, we happened to live in the same area, and we had a wonderful connection where we returned to Fukuoka together. It was also impressive that I could spend time freely like at home.This is a hostel that I would especially recommend for solo travelers.Thank you very much. Worried about: I understood in advance, so there were no particular problems. At most, I was a little troubled about where to put my clothes when I used the bath.I couldn't reach the installation location above.Other than that, I'm very happy.

We had the best time we can imagine with Moe and her family! She is a fantastic cook and puts so much love into everything! We felt like being a part of the family. :) Next time we would love to stay longer! There is so much more to discover near by! One of the nicest stays we had in Japan - great memory are made.
