A truly magical place in a magical area. We loved everything about this home and the owners went out of their way to ensure we had what we needed, including making dinner reservations for us. Highly recommend.

The place and the location are both fantastic. It is extremely good value for money compared with our other accommodation in Kyushu. The onsen is great. Beds are comfy. Place is warm. View is spectacular. Close to kurokawa onsen town. Close to ski fields. Easy access from beppu (with winter tyres) For access: In winter you need winter tyres to get to Kurosawa onsen. And the property is a bit higher up. we had heavy snowfall, so chains would be preferable for the driveway (but we parked 5min walk away and walked up instead). The highway to get to kurokawa onsen was closed unless you have winter tyres or chains. So it is necessary

Of all the airbnbs I have stayed over the years, this was probably my nicest experience to date. The site the property is located on is stunning. The house itself is traditional yet high end and tastefully decorated. I have never seen such a large wooden bath tub! The experienced available at the property are one of a kind: a peek into authentic Japanese culture. We did Kyudo and Taiko - both were very memorable in different ways. To top of off, the service provided was so accomodating, relaxed, and thorough. We didn't drive there, so were dropped at different restaurabts in the evenings. Transport options to the property were provided, and they even helped to book an onward taxi. Don't miss this place if you are visiting Kyushu.

Hightly recommend if you’re travelling Aso. Kaori-san is super nice and friendly. The place is so pretty, quiet and comfortable. Really wish we can stay for more days.

Thank you the host grandma waited so late and kindly introduced the amenities of the house.The space of the house was very large and it was a shame there wasn't enough time to enjoy such a nice space as well as the scenery that was so nice around, and I hope I can come back sometime next time! Staying at Mr. Nobuo's place is not just about great accomodation. It also means you will stay in a place which has lot to offer and in the same moment it's very peaceful and quiet. There is an onsen, a village shop, temple, shrines, giant tree like the one where Totoro lived. And above all there is Mr. Nobuo who is a great person and someone who knows the surrounding area like no one else. If you are looking for a true Kyushu countryside experience this is the place to go.

I had a pleasant stay in a retro house with the latest bath, toilet and washroom.The bed was comfortable and I slept better than at home.It is close to Aso's tourist spots and I recommend it!

Hide-san is very kind and was there to walk us through every corner of the house. The well-stocked kitchen was very helpful as many restaurants closed early during golden week. On top of that, the toilet and bedding were both clean and comfortable. We drove to Kuju and Aso; distance wise, everything is below 1 hour. We will definitely stay again next time!
