Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Nishi Ward

I stayed at Makiko’s house with three friends, and we had a truly wonderful experience. The house looks exactly as described — cozy, clean, and full of charm. It’s located in a quiet, peaceful residential area and has a beautiful garden where two adorable dogs live. Don’t worry if you’re not a fan of animals — the dogs stay in a separate area and won’t enter your rooms, so you can relax comfortably. The location is also perfect — it’s just about a 10-minute drive or a 20-minute walk to Kumamoto Castle and the city center. Kumamoto Castle is absolutely breathtaking — it’s massive, rich in history, and unlike anything you’ll see elsewhere. It’s definitely a must-visit spot if you’re in the area. Makiko is a wonderful host — incredibly friendly, thoughtful, and quick to respond to any questions. She made sure our stay was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. If I ever have the chance to visit Kumamoto again, I would definitely love to stay at Makiko’s house once more. Highly recomme

When you get into the house, the feeling is very, very much. It's one of the best places to stay on airbnb. The decor of the house is beautiful. The bedroom, kitchen, bathroom are good. The exterior of the house is quiet, perfect, but relaxing. It feels like your own home.

The price was affordable and the room was very clean.The ramen shop near the house is also very delicious.

Great location close to the castle and also to the city activities. The accommodation was very nice and located in a peaceful neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Kumamoto. Akiko was a great host, very helpful and highly responsive.

I already wrote a review for another stay so will keep this short but my family loved our stay! The owner is so sweet and helpful and the quiet clean space was just what we needed when visiting family and friends in Tamana.

The accommodation is better than it looks It was neat and cozy, and it was nice to have a large table and chairs for several people to hang out. There was a terrace, and the parking lot was about the size of two large SUVs, so it was comfortable. However, it is difficult to walk to the downtown area, so you have to use a car or public transportation.

The house is introduced by the owner for a long time, but the facilities are fully equipped, the cherry blossoms in many places in Japan are not yet open when we go, the cherry blossoms in the courtyard are blooming here, it is beautiful

We were greeted by the hosts upon arrival, and they thoroughly explained to us all of the amenities. We decided to go for the BBQ rental service for 3600 JPY (2 ppl); the host sets up the charcoal grill for you at the desired time, and his wife can help wash the vegetables if needed. They also offer breakfast, but we decided to opt out. The shower had ample hot water, albeit a few bugs (to be expected from an outdoor shower) We ended up having a great time eating Miyazaki wagyu purchased at a butcher recommended by the host :) The bedding was also quite cozy even if they weren’t actual beds. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking to do a pit stop in Yamato, especially if you’re on the road to Mount Aso / Takachiho afterwards.

The host responded very quickly, which made us feel at ease!The house is clean, a little small but everything is very complete!!The location of the house is also very quiet and convenient!There is also a small balcony and washing machine outside the house. I personally feel that the bed is too soft, but the overall rating is very good! Recommended for staying

Great place! It's not huge, but a great value. Centrally located, quiet, has everything you'd need and a lot of options for food, shopping, groceries nearby. Recommended.

Seiko is a fantastic host.Always responsive and helpful.This place is in a great location, downstairs is the shopping street, very close to the station.Convenience stores are also very close.The house was clean and the check-in instructions were clear.The two of us stayed here for three nights and we were very happy.The house is exactly as shown in the photos.Thank you Seiko for providing such a great house in Kumamoto, we were lucky enough to have such a great place to stay while traveling in Kumamoto.We highly recommend it to everyone!

It was a very beautiful, stylishly furnished, and cozy space. It was also helpful to be able to do laundry anytime again. The bathroom was only a shower room, but it was not easy to use, and there were also many hot springs where you can take a day trip bath within a few kilometers, so it was comfortable. The bedroom is just up the ladder, so I don't recommend it very much for people with bad legs, but I wanted to recommend it for others! I would love to use it again!

A nice place to stay when you’re in the city, easy parking too

Everything in the place is very aesthetically pleasing, and it was a joy to stay there. The room was clean, cozy and functional, and the bed and comforter were very comfortable. The kitchen has a nice window view, and it was nice to prepare meals there. We enjoyed the stay very much!
