Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Nieu-Bethesda

Linda's listing is a beautiful and large historic Karoo cottage. In fact, the pictures don't really do it justice. There are two full baths, one with a shower and one with a bathtub. In addition, there is a pool in the lovely garden. The house had secure parking off of the street, and the neighborhood was quiet and safe. The kitchen is fully equipped, and we enjoyed cooking at home. We also really spent quite a bit of time in the garden area. All of our communication with Linda was timely and helpful. We recommend the cottage for families or friends travelling together.

We had a perfect stay. Cottage is like you step into a museum, a classic Karoo town home with many authentic elements. The cottage is located in the center of the village very close to all key restaurants / shops etc. Location felt very safe with 24h surveillance in the street as well as private parking. Linda and Ina also kindly arranged laundry for us as well as babysitting for our kids. Next time we will visit Graaff Reinet, which we will definitely do, we will for sure book the cottage again.

We stayed only one night, but had time to explore the town and it's many eateries and some of the museums for a few hours. The home is charming and full of character and beautiful antique things without being cluttered. It is a low tech place - no wifi, as per the description - which is just what such a small town needs. We happened to miss any scheduled load shedding while there, but the candles everywhere had us think it would be quite lovely to experience the home 'off-the-grid'.

Camderest House was a very welcome halfway stop on our way to Cape Town. It was definitely home away from home. Thank you for a very pleasant one night stay.

The Owls nest is located on the outskirts of the little town, has lovely surroundings. We have stayed at the location more than once & it’s always neat & tidy. The town has free roaming horses & sometimes goats which give it a lovely farm feel. The town is beautifully kept & neat, the locals have a lot of pride in their town.

Wonderful home with a great view overlooking the town in the distance, yet close enough for a walk to the owl house and centre of the town. Very friendly and informative hostess. Will definitely recommend it to other travelers that are looking for upmarket accommodation.

Wonderful hosts who were so accommodating of a late check in. Fun, clean space reflective of the charm of a small interesting town that has so much to offer. Was way to short and definitely will be returning for a longer stay to enjoy and explore more.

Stayed at Spandou Manor for the Stoep Tasting weekend. Stan is a fantastic host. The accommodation is perfect for a couples weekend away. Close to town and really peaceful. Highly Recommend.

Would have wanted to stay over longer, but could not. Tranquility, farm and nature absorb you all at once. The type of place for longer stays, if you want some alone-time, have you and your loved ones only for yourself or want to bathe in the twilight of transition between city-, old-fashioned farmstyle- and nature-living

A wonderful, clean and affordable accommodation in Nieu-Bethesda. My friend and I had a great time there. Casper and Annette are also wonderfully friendly and helpful hosts. I highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay and the hosts were really very helpful interms of our dog who needed it's own space as it's abit anxious with other dogs. thank you you made our stay effortless

I usually take the traditional route between Cape Town and Johannesburg, stopping in Colesberg or Richmond. This time, I explored a new path and discovered Nieu-Bethesda—a hidden gem. The town’s gravel roads, fantastic restaurants, free-roaming horses, and the sound of owls at night created a magical atmosphere, especially while enjoying incredible lamb dishes. The highlight was my stay at Ludolf and Carla’s Airbnb. Their beautifully restored, pet-friendly home is tastefully decorated and equipped with every comfort. Thoughtful touches—welcome sherry, luxurious bedding, Africalogic amenities, homemade rusks, and fresh milk—made me feel truly pampered. Their property also features a stunning underground cellar for special events. Ludolf and Carla provided excellent communication and a detailed town map. Their hospitality, combined with Nieu-Bethesda’s charm, made this an unforgettable experience. I’m officially a fan and will definitely be back!

A beautiful stone cottage with stunning views of the mountains and farm. We had a lovely stay and our dog loved running around on the farm. The cottage was fenced which was perfect to keep our dog safe. We will be back for sure.

Ian and Katrin were very friendly hosts and helped to point out places worth visiting. We were fascinated by the village and the surroundings, and the villagers were pleasant and courteous. Allemanns huisie is good for a one night or short stay
