The only neighbors you'll see are the cows in the neighboring field. This location is perfect for hikers. It's close to the following trails - Glory Hole, Whitaker Point (Hawksbill Crag), Lost Valley, and Alum Cove. It's also a great location to see the Elk in the Boxley Valley or canoe/kayak the Buffalo River (water levels vary throughout the year).

I have booked well over a hundred Airbnbs all over the world, and this may very well be the most perfect one I've ever stayed in. It's brand new and spotless, so that certainly helps, but it is obvious that the couple that owns this place have stayed in many, many Airbnbs and have been keeping a notebook about things they want to have perfect when they start their own. Everything was literally flawless. There aren't many places of this caliber in the backwoods of the Ozarks. I will be staying here often.

Charming Cabin w/ Hot Tub, Fire Pit & Views!

One of the most beautiful cabins we've ever rented & a perfect spot to ride out some unexpected rain at the Buffalo River! The cabin was surface level clean, but could use a good deep clean (i.e., in drawers, under furniture). The hot tub needed chemical maintenance & the water level needed to be topped off, which we couldn't do ourselves since the hoses had lock valves. The listing should note that there *may* be a water crossing depending on recent rains. What was a small-ish runoff area over a low water bridge became an actual creek that we had to cross at checkout. We waited for 4 hours for conditions to improve, but we still had to cross it to get from the cabin to the main road into Jasper. We were very nervous / cautious, as the water was rushing fast enough over the road to have a current. Cell service is almost non-existent (normally wonderful), which made communicating about the water crossing difficult & there was some missed communication. But would visit again 100%!

Beautiful stay! Very private and secluded, yet five minutes away from downtown jasper! Perfect space for two people with a beautiful view! We had everything we needed and clear instructions on how to get there. 100% recommend this location if you get the chance. The dome is so unique yet just as comfortable and nice as a cabin or other airbnb. So thankful to get experience this beautiful stay in Jasper!

Wow! This place is amazing!!! If you’re thinking about booking - do it. The airstream is beautiful and the view is astounding. We went on a float through rio outdoors, went zip lining at horseshoe ranch, and ate at ozark cafe during our stay and everything was delicious! We also went on a hike that was in Laura’s recommends things to do in a book at the camper and it was beautiful! Amazing host, amazing place, amazing view. Couldn’t have been a better stay!!

Definitely loved it! Right in the middle of great trails and of course our favorite river, the Buffalo. There is an area for a campfire. Unfortunately, we were not able to do that due to the burn ban and how windy it was. Overall, a great place! Very peaceful!

The Buffalo River Chalet is a private, yet conveniently located retreat, situated near numerous hiking trails and outdoor activities. It’s arguably the top rental in the Compton area. The views are absolutely stunning, and the cabin itself is immaculate, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed to highlight the scenery—even from inside. With direct access off Hwy 43, getting to Harrison and Ponca is a breeze. The deck's outdoor fire feature was a fantastic touch, with plenty of firewood provided. The hot tub offered magnificent views while relaxing, and we enjoyed dining outdoors while overlooking the Buffalo River gorge and listening to the sounds of nature. Our preference when vacationing is seclusion, and even while close to hiking and amenities, we felt as if we were the only ones on the mountain!
