Four of us had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage. It’s an older style home but refurbished and nicely decorated, has everything you need in the kitchen to eat ‘in’, comfortable beds, good heating and good hot water/shower. Nice to have sourdough bread, ground coffee & bottle of wine provided. It’s on the edge of town (but Rutherglen isn’t very big) so an easy walk to the main part of town or a local brewery, & very close to a winery / cellar door. Good communication & information provided by Alexandra & in an info pack at the cottage.

Felt very relaxed. Wonderful, fresh mountain air if only we could bottle it ☺️ Enjoyed the nature and peaceful surroundings. Not far to the Punka pub and Bright. Definitely come again.

My husband and I stayed for two nights (Friday and Saturday night) on our weekend away without children. It was comfortable and in a very quiet location, even on a weekend. I appreciated this aspect of the home, as it is important to me for relaxing. Highly recommend staying here.

We had such a great stay at Linda's place. Linda was really accommodating with an early check-in. The property exceeded expectations and had all the amenities and activities required to entertain the whole family. The house is really close and walking distance to everything Bright has to offer. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Emma’s place! She was a great host—very thoughtful and responsive. Knowing the weather was rainy and cold, she turned the heater on before we arrived, which made us feel so welcome and comfortable right away. The house was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed. My children were especially thrilled to see the sheep grazing on the hills through the windows—such a peaceful and charming view. Thank you, Emma, for making our stay so enjoyable. We would love to come back again!

This was our second stay here, and once again, it felt like coming home. Dot and Gary go above and beyond to make sure every detail is just right—not only for us, but for our fur baby. From thoughtful touches like Netflix, super effective heating system and a well-stocked kitchen to dog-friendly amenities that made our pup just as comfortable as we were, it’s clear this isn’t just a rental—it’s a place that’s been created with genuine care and love. Great walks along the Murray River, walking distance to shops and cafes. We’ve stayed in many places, but few offer this kind of warmth and attention to detail. We can’t wait to come back again.

An absolute gem of a space, right close to the city centre. Had everything that you need to make your stay pleasant if travelling with kids and pets. You can walk to Coles, Mcdonalds, Hungry Jack’s, Kmart and local pubs and restaurants. The house has 3 beautifully positioned bedrooms and couple of toilets to make things easy. The modern kitchen has enough space and plenty of utensils and cutlery for us all. The yard was very secure for our 2 big dogs to be left alone for a little while, without any stress. Marcia and Troy are very responsive if you need anything sorted before and while you’re staying. Clear instructions while checking in and checking out were very helpful, and we were also granted an hour’s extension upon asking which was very kind of them. We really had a very pleasant stay in Wangaratta and would recommend this place to anyone, anyday! Thank you again☺️

We had a very comfortable stay with my dog. It was our second time at Mad on the Buckland. Kay was an absolutely wonderful host. We didn’t know there was a festival happening in Bright until Kay kindly let us know. Thanks to that, we were able to visit Bright just in time and enjoy the festival without missing a thing. The location is perfect for visiting nearby places, and we had such a peaceful and relaxing vacation. Thank you, Kay!

We had a great few days at this cute little cabin. Our toddler loved feeding the chickens on the property. The fire made it so warm and cosy and Robert had set it up all ready for our arrival which was a nice touch. Everything was clean and comfortable. Perfect for a little country getaway. Really beautiful garden and the bungalow was perfect for my needs. I was very comfortable staying there. My little dog had a secure space to run around. Easy walking into town. I look forward to this place being my go to when visiting Wangaratta.

Jenni is lovely and friendly. We loved the personalised welcome note on our arrival, the cosy and lovely decorated place, So clean and comfy. I loved the outdoor aear too. Perfect location, we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and 5 minutes drive to Bright's town centre. We will definitely be back again soon.

Such a wonderful little luxury bed and breakfast fully contained studio suite, everything is just beautiful with homemade breakfast treats too! Veronica is a lovely host who graciously accepted my late night reservation and greeted me with warmth and kindness.

We stayed here for the weekend while attending a wedding nearby. It was perfect for a few couples to stay together, lots of space, great amenities and the pool was lovely.

We loved our stay at Russel’s unit! It was surrounded by beautiful nature and wildlife and his place was well equipped for cooking and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Russel went the extra mile by lighting the fireplace each night and letting the kids collect eggs from the chicken coop, an unforgettable experience for them! We had a lovely stay in Mertylerford! The house is beautifully furnished with a charming country vibe that made it feel really cozy and welcoming. Access to the property was super easy, and we especially appreciated having space out the front for our dog to run around freely. Although the back area was under renovation during our stay and not accessible, it looks like they’re adding another room and a veranda—which will no doubt make the place even better once it’s finished. There’s also a beautiful tree out the back that adds to the peaceful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for a quiet country getaway!

We had a fabulous time staying at Susan’s house. The bonus for us was the fire pit out in the back yard, fond memories were made cooking and laughing around the fire. The house is perfectly positioned, it is private yet close to everything. The house was spotless and had a lovely warm charm which made relaxing easy. Don’t hesitate just book this little gem, you won’t be disappointed.

Jo and Howie offer a beautiful sanctuary to get away to from the busy city life we lead. They are kind and attentive and this shows in the accommodation they offer. we felt spoilt on the king size bed with beautiful linen, the kitchen had all the equipment for cooking a 3 course meal and the property is beautiful and peaceful with easy access to the rail trail next door. Visiting with a baby and a dog was made easy thanks to great washing facilities, a lovely bath and a great amount of space that's well laid out. Thank you for facilitating such a lovely break for us.

Absolutely wonderful in every way. I stayed 3 weeks with my small dog and it was the complete rest and recharge I needed. Beautiful, quiet, private location with a wonderfully cozy house that has absolutely everything. Kitchen with everything imaginable, incredibly comfortable bed, and every comfort a home can provide. The pictures don’t do it justice. I never wanted to leave!!! Carol is a fabulous host and left so many welcoming touches from chocolate to fire wood to delicious local apples. I will definitely be back for another stay.

For those who enjoy the bush and isolation with no wifi or mobile coverage but feel like treating yourselves to the cosy comfort of a bed, four walls and a roof, then this is the place for you! The cabin is a spacious property with amazing views of the river and hills. The kitchen is well equipped. We found the large bed very comfortable. We enjoyed whiling away the hours sitting reading in the evenings nestled on one of the settees.

Beautiful tiny house on the farm, surrounded by cows, kangaroos and even a wombat! Host made us feel so welcome and the place was spotless. Our pup loved exploring along the creek and playing with the neighbour’s dog too!

Loved our stay at Julia's house. A very homely cosy space and lovely to have a fire to keep the place warm and comfortable. Great selection of books and the kitchen is well stocked with everything. Lots of tea and coffee selections. Thank you Julia.
