By car or taxi as it is limited I will recommend access.There are no supermarkets, convenience stores, or restaurants around, so please prepare what you need in advance. This is a house with a superb view overlooking Lake Nojiri. There are several ski slopes (Myoko, Kurohime, and Masao), about 15-20 minutes away, making it a perfect base for winter sports. Enjoy a wood-burning sauna and a stunning water bath. There are no private houses around, so you can also watch music and movies with loud noises. Since it is a house nestled in the mountains, we will do our best to take care of it, but during the warmer months, insects can be seen.It snows a lot in winter.In autumn, the leaves dance. You must also adjust the fire in the wood stove yourself. It's not an easy house to live in, but it's got an incredible view. Enjoy cooking with a kitchen counter with stunning views, condiments, and a cooker.(There is no equipment for BBQ.)

The home is approximately a 20-minute drive from Nagano Station on the JR Hokuriko Shinkansen bullet train and Shinano Railway.

百 HAKU <100-year-old Quaint Japanese Style Villa>

HAKU is a Japanese Style Villa. You can enjoy your private time as in your home. “HAKU“ is one of the readings of the character “百” which means “hundred”. Medieval Haiku poet, Basho Matsuo likened eternal passage of time to "百代の過客", a permanent traveller. In his time, a hundred years was expressed as eternal. HAKU was originally built as a farmer’s shed about a hundred years ago. It was recently relocated and renovated for another hundred years. HAKU will welcome you as traveling companions.

"MakotoyaTenman" Takayama Station 3 · 155 ㎡ · Open air · Digging ~

Opened on October 1, 2016!(The second store, Makotoya Ohjin, opened in May 2024.) It is a traditional Japanese house in a very convenient location. It is about 3 minutes on foot from Takayama Station and about 5 minutes on foot from the old town. When you enter the house from the front entrance, you may feel as if you are in an old Japanese house. You can also enjoy the "horigotatsu" and "open-air bath". I hope you can make yourselves at home here.

A historical old house lodge "Kusanoniwa"

Kusa no Niwa is a traditional Japanese-style house with a courtyard and corridors that was built more than 130 years ago. The entire house with a size of 100 square meters will be lent privately to a single group with a maximum capacity of 6 persons. You will find a fusuma, a sliding door with a paper panel, painted by a famous Japanese Painter, which can be also found in the Taue’s House, an Important Cultural Property, located in Nyukawa Town.
