Vacation rentals in Montescaglioso

Great place to stay for a day trip to Matera. Just a short walk from great restaurants, shopping and the Sassi. Was perfect for us!

Very clean, tastefully decorated. Nice landlady. Area very nice and quiet. Lots of mosquitoes that can be expelled with mosquito spray and candles! Windows had all the mosquito nets, which was great. It had some bikes, unfortunately partly in poor condition. Initially the village helpful gas station that offers bicycle service. The long sandy beach almost empty at the end of October, beach cafe still open, pizzeria original and very delicious. We had a great stay!

The best days were undoubtedly in Italy in the house of Alberto. He is an excellent host along with Renata. Very friendly, always responding quickly and helpful. The place is excellent, very good taste in every detail! I would recommend 1000 veces this place and I would stay again in this place. Thank you very much

The apartment is comfortable and very well cared for. An oasis of peace and sun. The sea is enchanting and the recommended restaurants in the area turned out to be great!Marta was courteous, friendly and very generous giving us fresh fruit freshly picked from her garden!!!!

Great spacious apartment, clean and very central to get around, kind and friendly hosts

If you are visiting Matera and want to be in the center of the Sassi, this location is ideal. The space is clean, beautiful and well appointed. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is hot and powerful. The kitchen is well stocked and Giuseppe left us snacks and beverages to welcome us. Note: Follow Giuseppe’s instructions on how to arrive at the apartment. GPS will get you there but on a much more difficult route to traverse with luggage.

I stayed in Stefania's apartment for the second time after four years. It is a perfect nest in the middle of the sensational old town, the Sassi of Matera. Very quiet location with an almost fairytale view of the old district and the gorge on the outskirts. A special highlight is the large terrace. Here you can read wonderfully under the umbrella, laze or drink an apero (except at lunchtime. Then it's too hot even under the umbrella). The apartment is conveniently furnished. If you don't need a lot of luxury, Stefania will certainly feel comfortable.

Location in new town on edge of old town with private parking was what got me to book this property. We walked to all places with farthest walk being 20-30 minutes to other edge of old town. Host was always responsive and local recommendations and help with booking restaurants was so valuable. Bedroom on mezzanine can get warm on a nice day but there is AC. This room also is next to street so street noise can be heard for light sleepers. Second bedroom is cooler and quieter. Really enjoyed our stay in the spacious home.

We spent a weekend in Matera. We are very satisfied with the very nice accommodation, great location near the stone area, very kind and helpful host.
