The room is large, very quiet and comfortable with its queen size bed, tea or coffee corner and desk facing the window. The bathroom is nice and functional. The living room and kitchen are also at their disposal for quick cooking… the south-facing terrace and garden offer them the possibility of eating outside or sunbathing on the terrace. Gîte de l'Abbaye d 'Etrun

The cottage is the oldest house in the village, it guarded the entrance to the Abbey of the Benedictines of Etrun. The Abbey was founded in 980 and destroyed during the revolution in 1789. The whole has been listed as a Historic Monument. In 1815 Cardinal De La TOUR d'AUVERGNE decided to build his "Summer Residence" of which the surrounding walls still exist, as well as some period elements. In 1915, General Pétain made it his headquarters and commanded the Battle of Artois from these places.
