Protea Ridge - Self-catered Cottage Khayelitsha 2

BerndtRating, 5 stars54 months ago
We absolutely loved out stay at Protea Ridge. Mark is an exceptional host, he communicated with us regularly before we arrived already when we made enquiries about the signal strength on the property, he regularly informed us of progress made by Vodacom to install a tower that now offers 4G internet in the unit. He went way above and beyond even before we arrived. The actual location is amazing, and makes for a great holiday experience and a fantastic trip. The beaches are beautiful and the entire setting just feels like something that is from a different planet. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough. We stayed in the Khaylitsha Unit, and it had absolutely everything you could want for including a deep freeze, and even a full DSTV access which was handy for the kids on a rainy day. Mark would check in with us regularly to ensure that we were enjoying our stay and would continually offer helpful tips and trips in the area to ensure that we got the most out of our stay. The road in was treacherous due to the fact that it had rained for a couple of days and was busy raining as we went in. I would strongly recommend you consider the weather when making your travel arrangements, and that you go with a high clearance vehicle. When it is not raining the roads aren't too bad and the trip could be made with relative ease. On the day that we were supposed to leave, we experienced some heavy rain and Mark was kind enough to extend our stay at no additional cost and EVEN invited us over for an amazing dinner with him and his family when we ran out of food. The hospitality was truly like nothing you've ever seen. Cannot recommend this highly enough, please do yourself a favor and go and have a great experience!

Blue Lagoon 4x4 Cottage

AdrianRating, 5 stars2 months ago
A lovely place to stay, simple but comfortable with a great view, and very safe. The people are friendly and the fact that the place like the others around is dependent on rainwater made us realise how easy it is to use water sparingly and to reuse it for other purposes. Everything we needed was provided. The roads require at least a high-rise vehicle with diff lock. The estuary and beach are a short distance from the place. The area has some nice walks, and we visited other scenic destinations (including beaches) within a hour’s slow drive. We hope to return some day.
A panoramic view of the ocean is depicted, featuring rolling waves meeting grassy shores. A winding road runs through the lush green landscape, leading towards the horizon. Overcast skies cast a gentle light over the scene, enhancing the tranquil setting.

We loved our stay at the cottage! a truly fantastic location, Elmarie and co were great hosts, helpful in every way. The cottage is a well thought out and comfortable space for those who love the outdoors, love to be surrounded by nature, and love to take time to wind down and relax. ps. the dogs added bonus points to our stay.
A brightly lit mezzanine level features two single mattresses adorned with floral-patterned bedding. Large windows offer sweeping views of the surrounding forest and the distant ocean, inviting natural light into the space. A wooden table is placed nearby, enhancing the rustic ambience.

Crystal House Amapondo backpackers Lodge

SophieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Natalie and her staff really made our stay at Amapondo great. They were very kind and gave us good conversations and helpful tips. The place is a bit outside of town, which made it nice and quiet. During winter, the Crystal House was a bit chilly, but there were enough blankets to keep us warm.
A natural rock formation at the edge of a small waterfall is visible, with water cascading over its surface. Lush green grasses surround the water's edge, and dramatic rocky cliffs can be seen in the background, indicating the rugged terrain of the area.

Mbotyi -Mnceba Cottage selfcatering.

AndrewRating, 5 stars5 months ago
This place is for those who like uncluttered and uncomplicated vacations where one can slow right down and enjoy a stress-free pace to the daily routine. It was great to spend time in the middle of Mboyti village but to still have the privilege of access to running water, hot showers, clean and spacious accommodation and a short walk to spectacular beaches. A wonderful Wild Coast experience.
A spacious outdoor deck offers stunning views of the mountains and estuary. Two green chairs are positioned beside a seating area with a dark sofa, creating a relaxing space. The warm wooden flooring enhances the inviting atmosphere, complemented by railing details and ambient lighting.

AmandaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Beautiful well decorated cottage. Stunning views from the veranda and great open plan kitchen which is well thought out with everything you need. Bedrooms a good size with comfortable beds. Added bonus is the lovely Sisipho. Her smiling friendly face a treat. Lots of fabulous fresh crayfish, oysters and muscles offered by the locals daily. Beautiful beach a 5 min walk. Although quite a hike back up to the cottage. Plenty to do. Tasmin and Mike fantastic hosts. Highly recommended
A spacious dining area features a large wooden table surrounded by woven chairs, positioned against expansive windows. Glimpses of the sea and sandy beach can be seen in the distance, while natural light fills the room through the open space.
