It's only 5 minutes away, so you can play with the tropical fish as many times as you like during your stay and enjoy the Madoromi Island time in the shade of the trees. This is a single unit room in an old house on Irabu Island that has been renovated, where you can relax with your family. Nakajima Beach, which is perfect for snorkeling, Sunset Beach, which has beautiful sunsets, and the famous Blue Turtle Cafe are all within a 3-10 minute drive. It also has excellent access to tourist spots on Irabu Island. It is also within walking distance to the beach at the ferry. It is conveniently located about 2-300 meters away from a supermarket and a fried chicken shop. Open the large glass door in the kitchen to connect to the wooden deck in the garden, where you can enjoy breakfast, tea, and barbecues. We also grow vegetables in the field adjacent to the garden, where you can have a family harvesting experience and enjoy cooking with the harvested vegetables. Island bananas are also grown in the garden, so you can feel the Okinawan (tropical) vibe, and if the timing is right, you can also taste the slightly sour island bananas. Great house with plenty of amenities. The terrace on the third floor, overlooking the very quiet neighbourhood, offers magnificent views of the setting sun. A truly great terrace to just chill and relax. As the neighbourhood is very quiet, this place is superb to just calm down and soak in the silent atmosphere. All in all a very lovely retreat. Supermarkets and convenience stores are reachable in minutes by car. Also feasible on foot, if no car. Very thankful for the quick and precise correspondence.

I used it for 6 nights with 5 family and friends, The facility, which is a renovated old house in Miyako, is not new, but it is clean, good value, and I would like to use it again. There were 4 bedrooms, one of which was a room where you could sleep on a futon between the boards, and it was easy to use. There was a detached house with a barbecue outside, a laundry area, and it was the perfect facility for us who enjoy snorkeling and fishing, as it was easy to clean our gear. The garden has banana trees and a pond with medaka, which the children were excited about. There were cooking utensils, dishes, commercial ice makers, BBQ stoves, and large, medium, and small cooler boxes, which were very useful for long stays. You'll need to bring your own condiments and toothbrushes. The host introduced me to the nearby butcher, "Sachiyasu", and the BBQ with the meat I bought was excellent in taste and value.I highly recommend it!

An elementary school child and a couple of four stayed together. I was able to relax in a quiet environment where I could wake up to the sound of birds. The room was also neatly organized, and there was a wooden deck and BBQ set that we enjoyed. Just one thing, I think it would have been nice to know in advance about the availability of salt, sugar, soy sauce, etc., as the only seasoning available was pepper.

This is a wonderful stay for anyone looking for a private getaway. The area is very low-key; only a few restaurants that close in the afternoon. Main activities i would recommend are swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving. The water was beautiful, clear and warm and quiet. I was alone on most beaches I visited. The island is walkable as it's very small, but if you want a lot of flexibility get a car. With a car you can easily explore all of Ikema & surrounding islands. I would recommend at least a week stay; I wanted to stay longer. The house was nice & simple; be aware it's a Japanese bed, not western, so you are sleeping on a futon on the floor. It was comfortable and clean but if this bothers you look for a western resort instead. Neighborhood is very quiet and felt safe. I traveled alone and walked with no issues. Sumiyo had snorkel gear for rent which was great. If you're looking for no frills, relaxation & quiet, this place is perfect. Would definitely come back.
