In the small historic village of Maroulas, 3km from the beaches and 8km from Rethymno , a small stone cocoon house in the country restored in the minimalist style with pool , splendid views of the white mountains of Chania and the village (highest house) , first tour of Venetian care in the courtyard , suitable for one couple and two children (double sofa bed on the ground floor.). Fantastic stay! The villa had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the pool was absolutely amazing. I stayed here with my brother, and we especially appreciated the peace and quiet, along with the great location. Being so close to Rethymno made it a perfect base for sightseeing around the island. Manolis, our host, was always available and gave us excellent tips for local restaurants and attractions, which we really enjoyed. Each morning, fresh bread was delivered, so we didn't have to rush to the bakery. The fridge was also stocked with cold drinks upon arrival, which was a lovely touch. If our travel plans bring us back to the area, we would definitely book this accommodation again. Highly recommend!

before going into details of the villa - clear directions - turn right ~20 yards after the petrol station & do NOT try & approach from Maroulas itself!! the villa is in a stunning peaceful, secluded & elevated location, one of 4 of the Maroulas villas. Each well spaced out from each other with mature gardens & trees that add to the privacy. you hardly notice the other 3 villas. the position is superb with clear uninterrupted views over the coast, sunsets on a evening, sunrises over the mountains to the east, eagles soaring. seeing the lights of Platanes 5km away, neighbouring areas & coast, gives a lovely holiday feel but distant & elevated enough to be very peaceful & quiet. Villa Michalis definitely ticks the tranquility box! the villa is modern refurbished, cleaned every 3 days & spotless. Yannis & the cleaners are lovely & helpful. Taverna Fantisko is amazing, in addition to 3 local ones in Maroulas. Villa Michalis will not fail to deliver a brilliant base of an enjoyable holiday

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights during our time in Crete and absolutely fell in love with the place. The home is so cozy and has everything you need from the moment you walk in. Maria was super helpful and made sure we had what we needed for a comfortable stay. Set in a rustic village with amazing views of the skyline, this place is one you should book for sure. Super close to the town of Rethymno, with many shops, restaurants, and beaches a short drive away.

Super sweet people. Everything was well arranged. Despite the sandstorm, they really gave top service. We even got pizza as an apology while they couldn't do anything about it. Very sweet. Definitely a villa to go to once.

We had a great stay at the villa. The accommodation impresses with the breathtaking view and the super delicious tavern, which is located directly below the villa. Please note when arriving that you can only drive up to a maximum of 100 meters to the accommodation and then have to carry the luggage up the hill. Overall, we felt very comfortable!
