Anne's Fairytale Cottage feels very homey, it is well decorated with personable items, it's cozy, has a well equipped kitchen, with laundry, and had everything we needed to enjoy a home cooked meal. Anne was super helpful on arrival, and responded really quick in case of the occasional question. Most of all, Anne was really friendly, it was nice to meet her.

River Road Retreat was a delight to stay at, and Peter and Rebecca lovely hosts. The cottage is beautiful, clean and in a gorgeous setting surrounded by fields, and with stunning views to the hills in the distance. We loved the welcome bottle of wine and yummy nibbles, as well as the delicious breakfast served every morning. The air is fresh and clean, the water absolutely pure, and after three days we’ve returned home refreshed and reenergised. Wonderful!! Big thanks from us!!!

A really authentic 70s cottage, everything was on point. it was like a time warp back to my childhood but better. everything you could possibly need was thought of. The deck was the star of the show, it was a rainy but not cold couple of days and I spent hours on the deck under cover, the day bed was great, very comfortable. Everything but everything was great. Even the blinds were made from recycled woolen blankets. The goat 🐐 was cute and having the trains coming past was very nostalgic. a lovely quiet peaceful getaway and I appreciated the privacy. thank you.

Peaceful, eclectic cottage which has been tastefully restored to pay tribute to the original building, plus some stylish new touches! Loved the story of how it all came together, and the proximity to Kaikōura was great. Thoughtfully put together space. Thanks for having us!

We loved our stay at the cottage!! It may be my favorite airbnb of all time. From the welcome basket to the wine tasting and the spa, it was relaxing and wonderful! This was a great place for two families who could walk to so many different wineries and then come home to cook a nice dinner at night! This would also be great for a girls weekend in wine country! This was a luxury but also super comfortable retreat!

We had a beautiful second stay at the sandcastle. Loved the peaceful setting, birds and animals on the property. Pizza night was fabulous and Steve was incredibly gracious with our two boys and even took them blueberry picking. Thank you for taking extra care and checking in to ensure our stay was so special. Our boys said this was their favorite place we’ve stayed yet!

Our family of four had a great time at Tui Cottage. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable and warm. The view and beach access is amazing. We appreciated being able to use the kayaks. Throughly recommend.

Perfect location for our needs, with the added bonus of a stunningly beautiful view & lots of action to see with the boats coming & going.

Kate gave very clear instructions so we were able to arrive safely and were able to find the place easily as we had a long drive and arrived quite late. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming despite our late arrival the night before. Additional plus were the awesome welcome given to us by their pet dogs, Chloe and Amber!

It was a pleasure staying at Alexandra's place, a lovely friendly greeting, very helpful, beautiful quiet garden setting and very clean and homely accommodation. I would have loved to have stayed longer to enjoy it more.

This is a very special place, I wish I could have stayed longer. The house is incredibly cosy and atmospheric, and we felt so spoilt with the great breakfast. This is a true getaway whilst everything you'd like to do and see in the region is close by. Highly recommended!

Great bungalow with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Was great for kids and dogs.

Lovely place to stay and very handy to all the restaurants and ferry terminals. Spacious rooms with an amazingly big spa bath, will definitely stay here again.

we stayed at mahana farm cottage for two nights and absolutely fell in love. Dave was fantastic with everything, the accommodation was cozy, comfortable and the views and animals were lovely. The little touches throughout just made it so easy and was much appreciated. A short drive to mapua, which has beautiful beaches and lovely restaurants. We adored everything about this place and would recommend to anyone wanting a private, peaceful stay.

Great place for a stay in Kaikoura. Everything was as described, and we really loved that it had a proper espresso machine available for use, including espresso grind coffee.

Lynley and Trevor were great. Very friendly, volunteered useful information. We knew they were there if we needed them but they never bothered us once. When they knew we wanted to use the tennis court, they put the net up straightaway. Very responsive.

A perfect little piece of Aotearoa - Endless beach and deep blue ocean on one side, mountain views and snow covered peaks on the other. Cosy and charming off grid home with everything you need to unwind from busy everyday life and/or to relax after a long day of exploring beautiful Kaikōura. No problem with power supply (for those being worried) - we arrived on a cold rainy day, Jeremy had the fire started for us, the home was warm at arrival and kept warmth in even overnight. We cooked, had lights on (bring a book, or two), charged devices and the lowest the battery went was 96% - Cilla and Jeremy also provide a great “how to life off grid” guide that’s super helpful. There is no WIFI but good phone reception if required - maybe a sign to put the devices down for a few days, enjoy the beautiful surrounding you’re in, spend time with family or read that book you’ve bought months ago and never had time to. Bonus: Fresh peaches form the garden

We had a great stay here when we had to abort our camping trip due to the wet weather. Tineke’s place was the perfect spot for us to continue exploring the beautiful Golden Bay region and the view out to sea even on a wet misty day was stunning. Tineke was super accommodating and very responsive, we will definitely be back.

We stayed 3 nights and wished we had booked for longer. Vivian and Ken were excellent hosts. We were provided with lots of tips for grocery store, restaurants and places to hike. Ken took us on a night time adventure to see glow worms on the property! The pet deer, Nina, has a fenced area near the cottage. We enjoyed feeding Nina treats provided by Ken. We found the local restaurants to be excellent and enjoyed shopping at the Old Factory Connings Food (grocery) and The Junction (cheese shop). The cottage was very comfortable and open with a beautiful, private surrounding garden. What a wonderful location to stay near Abel Tasman National Park.

If I could rate more than 5 stars I certainly would. Vanessa was super accommodating and very communicative and massively helpful! She helped with an early check in to coordinate with our flight arrival time, went out of her way to find extra indoor kids board games and activities due to the unfortunate weather, was so lovely and helpful in every way imagineable. Highly recommend and will definitely be back there next time we stay in Nelson. Thank you Vanessa.!
